We welcome you to our fabulous row house on one of the most coveted areas in all of the Historic District !You will be delighted by this one of a kind home located right in the heart of the Annapolis Historic District. Built in 1845 and renovated thoughout in 2008 this home retains its original charm while having all of the luxuries of modern day living. One of the most photographed homes in town, it is located two blocks from the Main st , City dock , and Gate 1 of USNA . Charles is an exclusive, quiet, one way residential only street. Recently chosen as the location for filming of a special for The History Channel ( May 2012) we have also been chosen as one of the select Capital Newspapers 'Homes of the Week' (Oct 8, 2011) as well as one of the exclusive properties for The Historic Foundations ' Candlelight Tour ' Our home has a great location without all of the noise from traffic or the late night bar scene yet you and your guests can absolutely walk to everything you want or need from this property. Spend the day at the private park at the end of the street and watch the sailboats cruise by or walk to town for some sightseeing, shopping, a Navy game, sailing or one of the numerous award winning restaurants. You may even meet some famous people on your walk home-our house is right around the corner from TV personality Greta Van Susteren and across the creek from director Barry Levinson!

Located directly in the middle of all of the historic churches, this home is an ideal option for out of town wedding parties and guests. Once you compare hotel rates in town you will find that that renting a full house is a wonderful alternative-this is your chance be an Annapolitan !( Yes, that is a real term for a local :)

After a full day you and your party will be sure to enjoy your downtime when you arrive home. Original wide plank wood floors,a copper tin ceiling, reclaimed wood doors and butcher block counters are only some of the interesting period features you will admire. Decorated by a local art dealer and gallery owner this home contains many unsual, one of a kind pieces by artists you will most likely recognize. The custom made dining room table is large enough to accomodate all of the house guests or you may choose to grill outside on the very private patio. Relax after dinner by the candlelight of the laterns at our handmade teak table and adirondack chairs- if your lucky maybe the neighboorhood ducks will swing by for a visit.

This home sleeps six very comfortably and we are a certified rental property through the City of Annapolis . The first floor master suite has a queen bed while the two upstairs guest bedrooms contain a king and two extra long twin beds with totally empty closet space and drawers. As we are a year round rental you will not be inconvienced by having to squeeze your luggage and things among owners jeans, toys and old prom dresses :) A queen air matress is available by request if you have others joining your party. About Megan

Im a retail business owner that grew up in downtown Annapolis. On the side I invest in real estate and enjoy distance running , riding bikes, surfing, swimming, paddleboarding and eating out at all of Naptowns great restaurants..

Megan purchased this house in 2007

Why Megan chose Annapolis

This house is on my favorite street in the Historic district. I fell in love with it when I saw it, bought it and did some renovating so that now its perfect.

What makes this house unique

The private park at the end of Charles is so relaxing, its the only private park in all of downtown.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thanks so much for renting your home to me and my aides for the legislature season- I know you normally don't rent out for such long periods . The location downtown could not be beat and I really appreciate your special touches to make us all feel at home- Unfortunately now my wife want to hire you to decorate our place- we love your style. We would love to go ahead and reserve it again for the next two sessions if you will have us again! Thanks for everything- Delegate Glenn Glass

Adorable home in historic district will make you feel like a local

  • 5 of 5

I'll never stay in a hotel while visiting Annapolis again. I was visiting family, and wanted privacy, yet ease of getting around. Staying here, I really got the essence of the town I haven't gotten staying in hotels. The home just... feels Annapolitan! The home owner supplied parking passes so the worries of "taking home an Annapolis memory" in the form of a $25 contribution to the cities coffers (parking ticket) was taken off the table right away. Parking is so simple around Charles St. It is within walking distance to all the shops, restaurants and pubs. Also, It has an awesome back yard if you just want to chill and enjoy a balmy east coast evening. The property is decorated in an amazingly stylish and cozy manner. I wanted to hire Megan to redo the interior of my home! Also, the home is dog friendly! It also makes a great home base if you want to explore Baltimore, D.C., or Maryland's eastern shore. I'll definitely be back!

Lovely home and best location in Annapolis. Fantastic - must stay here again!

  • 5 of 5

Loved this place - can I move in please? I stayed in a hotel on my last visit to Annapolis but wish I knew about this place. The house is lovely and charming with amazing open beams in one bedroom and character throughout. It has an adorable courtyard in the back with nice table and relaxing chairs that was fantastic to enjoy an evening cocktail and coffee in the morning. The house is on a quaint street a block from a nice park at the water and 2 blocks from Main Street - could not be more convenient. Oh and the house was immaculate and everything we needed was ready for us, clean and neat - wonderful! There were even some treats for convenience like coffee, tea and spices in case we needed them. Could not ask for more. Hosts Megan and Jon were terrific - friendly and accommodating. Oh and you should see some of be cool artistic lighting in the house - adds unique personality to an already unique home. Just awesome! Can't imagine staying anywhere else when I come back to town. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

Beautiful house conveniently located in historic Annapolis

  • 4 of 5

The house is located on a great street that is quiet, but easy to walk to the downtown area in 5 min.

It was very clean and well-decorated. Nice patio and table in the back. I loved the historic charm of the house (but don't mean for it to sound old, it is renovated and up to date).

One of the upstairs rooms was a little warm (but it was 85 degrees when we were there), but if you don't need it to be freezing when you sleep then it would be fine.

Owner was very easy to reach and made herself available if we needed anything.

Wish we could have stayed longer, and would stay there again.

A Wonderful house in an Excellent Location

  • 4 of 5

Our rental arrangements went smooth and Megan was quick to respond to all inquiries. She has a charming house on a quiet street and within walking distance to downtown restaurants, shops and attractions. The house was clean and nicely decorated in a nautical theme. The entire house has air conditioning except for the room upstairs with the king bed. She graciously allowed us to stay with our two small dogs. There is a dog-friendly park with a waterfront view at the end of the street, which was very convenient location for the dogs to relieve themselves. The backyard and outdoor furniture could have used a little spring cleaning, but everything else was fine. We would definitely return again in the future.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review ! The house is fully air conditioned - I'll look into why the upstairs bedroom wasn't a comfortable temperature . We'd love to have you back on your next stay !

great property in the heart of the historic district

  • 5 of 5

I was looking for a seaside town that was dog-friendly for a Spring retreat. Annapolis fit the bill, but I needed to find a dog-friendly house that would also accommodate two couples. This house fit the bill with perfection. Megan was very responsive to my inquiries and had parking passes, information book with everything about the house and restaurant recommendations ready upon arrival. This house was very clean, had comfortable beds, good WiFi, and was well supplied with kitchenware and some paper and cleaning products. Best of all--it was in the historic district and within walking distance of shops, restaurants and the city docks. Walking the dog around the neighborhood not only offered a look at many of the restored homes but also offered a real gem--a waterside park at the end of the block. This park was great for meeting other people with dogs and offered a beautiful view of docked boats, people paddle-boarding, and swimming ducks. A water taxi will pick you up there from the floating dock and take you to restaurants in Easton or other areas, and the taxi was dog-friendly. It was a great area for relaxing. Downtown Annapolis is very dog-friendly with some shops allowing dogs and most restaurants with outside eating areas allowing dogs.

We very much enjoyed our stay at 86 Charles St. and would recommend it for couples, people with a dog, or small family groups of 6 or less.

Commissioning week fun

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at this charming house for C week 2016. It was the perfect size for the six of us and the outside space made it even larger. We really enjoyed the little touches the owner provided- soaps, shampoos and even some chocolates on the pillow. Wish I could say we will be back soon but since our son graduated it may be a few years but we would definitely recommend this house. Location was fantastic !
