About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

We welcome you to our fabulous row house on one of the most coveted areas in all of the Historic District !You will be delighted by this one of a kind home located right in the heart of the Annapolis Historic District. Built in 1845 and renovated thoughout in 2008 this home retains its original charm while having all of the luxuries of modern day living. One of the most photographed homes in town, it is located two blocks from the Main st , City dock , and Gate 1 of USNA . Charles is an exclusive, quiet, one way residential only street. Recently chosen as the location for filming of a special for The History Channel ( May 2012) we have also been chosen as one of the select Capital Newspapers 'Homes of the Week' (Oct 8, 2011) as well as one of the exclusive properties for The Historic Foundations ' Candlelight Tour ' Our home has a great location without all of the noise from traffic or the late night bar scene yet you and your guests can absolutely walk to everything you want or need from this property. Spend the day at the private park at the end of the street and watch the sailboats cruise by or walk to town for some sightseeing, shopping, a Navy game, sailing or one of the numerous award winning restaurants. You may even meet some famous people on your walk home-our house is right around the corner from TV personality Greta Van Susteren and across the creek from famous director Barry Levinson. Last summer baseball star Cal Ripken was spotted numerous times paddle boarding down at the park as he is also renting a house very nearby !

Located directly in the middle of all of the historic churches, this home is an ideal option for out of town wedding parties and guests. Once you compare hotel rates in town you will find that that renting a full house is a wonderful alternative-this is your chance be an Annapolitan !( Yes, that is a real term for a local :)

After a full day you and your party will be sure to enjoy your downtime when you arrive home. Original wide plank wood floors,a copper tin ceiling, reclaimed wood doors and butcher block counters are only some of the interesting period features you will admire. Decorated by a local art dealer and gallery owner this home contains many unsual, one of a kind pieces by artists you will most likely recognize. The custom made dining room table is large enough to accomodate all of the house guests or you may choose to grill outside on the very private patio. Relax after dinner by the candlelight of the laterns at our handmade teak table and adirondack chairs- if your lucky maybe the neighboorhood ducks will swing by for a visit.

This home sleeps six very comfortably and we are a certified rental property through the City of Annapolis . The first floor master suite has a queen bed while the two upstairs guest bedrooms contain a king and two extra long twin beds with totally empty closet space and drawers. As we are a year round rental you will not be inconvienced by having to squeeze your luggage and things among owners jeans, toys and old prom dresses :) A queen air matress is available by request if you have others joining your party. City of Annapolis certified parking passes are provided ( up to 2 cars ) for easy on street parking for the duration of your stay along with local maps and menus to get you aquainted to our lovely town. If you have and specific concerns, questions or requests please don't hesitate to call or shoot me an email. We have been locals here for many many years and should be able to answer just about anything!

We have been a full time vacation rental for over five years and have had the pleasure of renting our home for countless special events such as reunions, couples get -away weekends, weddings,St Johns College events, Navy games and Commissioning week, parent weekends, boat show ,sailing regattas and Maryland state legistators. About Megan

Im a retail business owner that grew up in downtown Annapolis. On the side I invest in real estate and enjoy distance running , riding bikes, surfing, swimming, paddleboarding and eating out at all of Naptowns great restaurants..

Megan purchased this house in 2007

Why Megan chose Annapolis

This house is on my favorite street in the Historic district. I fell in love with it when I saw it, bought it and did some renovating so that now its perfect.

What makes this house unique

The private park at the end of Charles is so relaxing, its the only private park in all of downtown.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Megan,

Thanks so much for renting your home to me and my aides for the legislature season- I know you normally don't rent out for such long periods . The location downtown could not be beat and I really appreciate your special touches to make us all feel at home- Unfortunately now my wife want to hire you to decorate our place- we love your style. We would love to go ahead and reserve it again for the next two sessions if you will have us again! Thanks for everything- Delegate Glenn Glass

Charming house & great location!

  • 5 of 5

The house was beautifully decorated and comfortable. My husband and I opted for the downstairs bedroom since we are early risers & we loved all the natural light that poured into the bedroom in the morning. It took a little getting used to the small bathrooms but it is an old house & the owners were very creative in using what space there was.

Great comfortable house for a last minute trip

  • 5 of 5

Our family had some last minute business to attend to so we decided to book in Annapolis. We literally booked the day of and Megan responded right away and the house ready and perfect by our 2pm arrival time . We got parking right out front and the February weather was a balmy 68 so we had so much fun walking to everything in town - try Foxes Den ! We live within an hour drive so I'm positive we will be back . Thank you for your Hospitality Megan and Jon !

Beautiful, quiet and conveniently located.

  • 5 of 5

Six of us enjoyed a short two nights at this pretty home. It suited our needs perfectly and we loved having such a short walk to the restaurants and shops. The street was wonderfully quiet at night.

For people over 6' tall like myself, the claw foot tub in the upstairs bathroom is not an ideal shower space, but it worked out fine. The upstairs bedrooms were cozy and warm.

We would definitely recommend this place to our friends.

Owner's Response: Thanks for staying with us and the review Bruce ! Yes we can see how someone so tall could have an issue with the upstairs shower ...hopefully your friends let you use the down bath.- much roomier as its not an antique claw foot lol . Come back and see us anytime :)

Great Vacation House

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time staying at Megan and Jon's property while visiting our daughter. We frequently stay in VRBO properties and this is one of the best if not the very best. It's extremely well located and is convenient to everything you would want to see in historic Annapolis. It's also nicely decorated and well equipped with everything you need, so unlike some rental properties it really feels like home. Parking is available but we found that it's much easier to just use Uber, which is readily available. We will definitely stay again, and would recommend this property to anyone looking for a great property in Annapolis.

Great location. A bit small.

  • 4 of 5

If you are used to older properties with charm this is right for you. Had my elderly parents with us...steep stairs, electrical was hit or miss and it a bit cramped. But overall great for our trip to Annapolis and DC!

Owner's Response: Hi Kara ! Thank you for your review . The house is from 1840 so when we renovated we put the master on the first floor so perphaps your folks should have stayed there so they did not have to navigate the stairs . We sleep six very comfortably in three bedrooms and two baths -my maids noticed the air mattress out so it may have been crowded for your group of you decided to squeeze more in . As far as the electrical issues -one of those was not in my control and the other was your group not knowing how to turn on a kitchen light . Glad you had a great time - next time you may want to consider my four bedroom up the steeet - property 700188. Happy Travels !

Charming

  • 5 of 5

Fabulous time in Annapolis and very convenient location. We loved the fun decorative touches (front planters, light fixtures, etc,) We went with 2 other couples and enjoyed the back patio, catching up. We all had an awesome time! We did go to the Foxes Den, which was recommended by the homeowner and it was great! Still thinking about the drinks we had. We plan to come back! Thank you!
