|Minimum Stay||7 nights|
The villa has had extensive refurbishment to an extremely high standard with many extra benefits - large open plan fully equipped kitchen, downstairs cloakroom and lobby, lounge dining are leading out onto a terrace and extended decking on it with private mooring, both en suite double bedrooms have been tastefully furnished and each have their own private balconies. Free Wi-FI is also at the villa, It also has its own golf buggy which is available to hire, a great asset for getting around the resort. There is an extensive supermarket for self catering. Fantastic facilities all on your doorstep communal pool, 18 hole golf course, casino, tennis, water sports. perfect for a family holiday go to the beautiful south beach with its white powder sands for the water sports or a romantic getaway to relax and enjoy the Caribbean sunsets with a cocktail on the terrace. Airport transfer can be arranged, housekeeper will meet you on arrival at the villa for meet and greet
The villa is situated on North finger which is a more peaceful spot away from the busy South beach, but still with in easy access to South beach and the Marina and all the amenities but if you want some quite time, take a walk down to the unspoilt North beach
Serndipity villa is opposite the harbour island with the sleeping Indian mountain behind, so we are in a fortunate position of not being overlooked by neighboring villas, just beautiful Antiguan views
Being situated on North finger you can enjoy the best of both either spend time on the busier South beach with all the water sports and beach vendors or if you want a chill out time you can go back to the tranquil North beach or villa
The property was nice and clean... Looks exactly like the pictures. Bedrooms doesnt match the looks of the living room and kitchen however. And the wifi works when it wants to work. 90% of he time it did not work. Outside back porch is lovely. But does NOT have a hottub which is misleading.
We enjoyed two weeks at this Jolly Harbour North Finger property. The friendly management staff went out of their way to ensure the condo was clean & stocked with supplies - and very attentive during our stay for any issues or questions we had!! Amenities were as described, and although a coffee press might not be your idea of a "coffeemaker", like many things in Antigua, "it's not like where you're from", which "is one reason why you're here"! THERE IS NO SWIMMING POOL OR POOL BAR - that property is nearby but the Jolly Harbour staff insisted it's off limits for Jolly Harbor Villa guests, unless you want to pay STEEP fees. The plaza has a few "beach bar" type joints, we preferred OJs and The Captains Table (St. Johns) . Comfort, quality, and furnishings were clearly a cut above other rentals at this price point and added value. Tricky to light, but the gas BBQ was great for grilling, kitchen range and pots/pans made for outstanding local conch and fish dishes. The icemaker, wifi, toaster, microwave, AC, and fans worked GREAT! The condo was equipped with a big cooler, folding chairs, and beach umbrella for your daily trips. The extended deck has an outdoor shower and a hose for rinsing off your snorkel gear at day's end. There was an additional cost at the complex of around $20 USD for an in/out pass for your vehicle. The little market at the Jolly Harbour Villas was adequate if you ran out of something, but the two LARGE grocery stores, First Choice, 15 minutes north (and the one at the public meat/fish/vegetable markets, Bargain Center) were MUCH better stocked and even less expensive. We DO NOT recommend a stay without a rental car from the airport Avis, as the other companies rent LOUSY vehicles that are VERY expensive: Not having a CAR = A recipe for disaster (considering all the island has to offer). A golf cart here is very nice for your kids to ride around in, but it's no substitute for a rental from our perspective. And a "no thanks" to expensive taxi rides and s-l-o-w bus (minivan) service, you'll spend less and do more with a rental. The North Beach and South Beach are nice for a morning walk or evening stroll, the islands innumerable beaches are gorgeous, secluded, and only minutes away north or south by car. We would not hesitate to recommend Serendipity Condo as a home base for your next vacation in Antigua. It stands head and shoulders above other properties we have rented in three different Caribbean islands. So Rum Punch Cheers - Salud!
Nikki, the property owner, and her team of locals made this a highly enjoyable stay. The property is exactly as advertised: Clean, spacious, well-appointed and very functional.
Kitchen is well appointed and modern. It was very nice and thoughtful to stock the fridge with some juice, water and milk. Not necessary but a nice touch when you arrive.
Renting the golf cart is a necessity. The villa is on the quieter North Finger which is very nice but further away from the main village. It's a very long walk but a three minute golf cart ride.
The villa is within walking distance of the quieter North Beach which is usually empty. It's not as picturesque as the South Beach but it's a nice diversion.
The air conditioning and climate control in the villa are excellent. I didn't use the hot tub or BBQ but the patio is a great place to work. The wifi is excellent and consistent.
Nikki made this an entirely seamless experience and if you are looking for a villa in Jolly Harbour (especially the quieter North Finger), I would strongly recommend that you rent from Nikki.
Thanks so much, Nikki!
Spent 2 weeks here in February/March 2014.
The villa is well located in a quiet part of the North Finger at Jolly Harbour. You have no villas opposite and villa is situated where there is hardly any passing boat traffic.
There is a very well equipped kitchen with every item you could possibly want for your stay. Found the dryer very useful after a day spent at the beach, it was a good way to dry the beach towels in minutes!
Rest of the villa is well equipped. We ate breakfast everyday outside on the patio which was a lovely start to the day.
The golf buggy is a must if you do not rent a car during your stay. We used it mainly for shopping and going to the South Beach.
Owner Nikki is very nice to deal with and will answer any questions you might have.
Would not hesitate to recommend this property.
Serendipity is a lovely villa in an excellent location, close to the quiet north beach and a short drive from the commercial centre and the larger and busier south beach. Picture yourself sitting on the quiet north beach - often we were the only people there - watching the black pelicans diving into the sea for fish. Wonderful. The villa itself is extremely well equipped and had everything we needed for our stay - a huge bonus was the gas barbecue on the patio. The local Epicurian supermarket is very well stocked and served us well. They even have a take-away counter for sandwiches, burgers, boxed salads etc. There are plenty of restaurants on site so if you don't have transport, it's not a problem. We hired a car for a few days and explored the island which was great. The rest of the time we had the golf cart for getting around the Jolly Harbour area - although its only a 30 minute walk into the centre if you like a bit of exercise. Amy and Margot (agents on site) were very friendly and couldn't have done more to help and advise us. A cell phone was also provided for local calls to make reservations etc. One must is the Sunday party at Shirley Heights - excellent food (barbecue) and live steel orchestra music which was brilliant. If you're lucky you can watch the spectacular sunset with fabulous views over English Harbour. Another great day out was a lobster lunch cruise with Captain Glen and the boys from Creole Cruises. We had an amazing time and met some lovely people. The boat only holds 20 passengers and was perfect. Lunch was fantastic. This was our first visit to Antigua and 2 weeks passed very quickly. We hope to return to the island sometime in the future and would be delighted to stay at Serendipity villa again.

Let me just say, we absolutely loved Antigua and staying at the villa enhanced our stay. In the past, we have always stayed at hotels and this was our first experience with staying at a self-catering unit and now we are hooked! Now, when looking for a place to stay on vacation, we only check out rentals as we realized staying at a hotel, you really miss out on a lot. Having the extra room and the ability to just lounge around was fantastic. The villa was very clean and very well maintained which are of up most importance. We were two couples and found the layout of the upstairs bedrooms ideal, each with its own bath and both with private balconies. The main floor featured a very nice kitchen and contained all the necessary items and utensils to cook just about anything. The living room was spacious and comfortable with plenty of seating. This unit also featured a lovely terrace, complete with lounging furniture, table for outdoor eating, and a Barbecue grill as well as a Hot tub. What more could you need? The owner was very pleasant to deal with and was always willing to answer any questions you might have. There are people on the complex to help you as well, should you need to know where to go to eat, things to do, places to visit, or any other questions you have at all. They even provided a cell phone for local calls. Rental of the Golf Cart is a must. You can walk to everything but it is pretty far and besides, the golf cart is fun. Even though the complex has just about everything you need including a grocery & liquor store, restaurants & bars, we highly recommend you rent a car at least for a few days. Antigua has much to see including some of the most stunning beaches we have ever seen. We located a grocery off the complex that was much less expensive than the one on the complex, and it carried just about everything you could want. Just get out and explore and then return to your well appointed villa at the end of a long day and relax with a beverage on the terrace. I would highly recommend this holiday rental.
Antigua has all year round tropical climate with a gentle sea breeze, 365 beaches. Jolly harbour marina is set in lush green surroundings on the west side of Antigua the complex has 24hr security and fantastic facilities communal pool, beach, tennis courts, 18hole golf course, health centre, casino, sailing, diving and water sports restaurants and bars all around the marina. St John's 15 min by bus has duty free shopping local hand crafted markets. Helicopter trips to Monsaratt from the marina. Shirley heights a must Sunday afternoon steel bands followed by reggae bands as the sun goes down BBQ and rum punch! Nelson dockyard with all the history and English harbour sit having a refreshing drink watching all the boats sail in. Trips to the rain forest and pineapple plantations. Take a boat trip from the marina around the island and go snorkeling at bird island or charter a boat yourself discover all the unspoilt beaches.
