Quinta Do Licorne is a unique estate, lovingly refurbished and extended by the present owners. The owners’ house is situated within the grounds, however they offer complete privacy for their guests. Pets welcome on request at Casa Maxine only.
It comprises of two properties, Casa Maxine (8 people) and Casa Donna Lisa (6 people). Both properties are about 400m apart and ideal for large groups of up to 14 people. Each has its own pool, bar and outdoor dinning facilities. Separate electric gated entrances.
The quality accommodation is set in 5 acres of beautiful mature gardens and offers excellent holiday accommodation with the benefit of separate units for privacy and large outside areas and amenities, ideal for socializing. The gardens are fully enclosed by a large perimeter wall. Quinta Do Licorne is situated in the hamlet of Pereiro; close to Moncarapacho

Quinta do Licorne's two villas are approx 4 miles from the coast which has wonderful secluded beaches all along the eastern Algarve, with many Islands to visit which can be reached by cheap and cheerful ferry boats and have regular services and also have inexpensive coffee shops and restaurants.
There are many golf courses within 30 mins drive to the east and west. Quinta do Licorne has easy access to the motorway. In Moncarapacho there is a par 3 golf course and health centre and Tavira has several other quality 18 hole courses. To the west there are many world renowned golf courses close to the sea and beach facilities.
Special interest holidays
This property offers private secluded sun bathing terraces which cannot be overlooked and has easy access to country lanes for long walks or bicycle riding.
Quinta do Licorne is approximately 14 miles to Faro airport (30 minutes by car).
Car hire is a necessity.

Quinta Do Licorne is situated in the hamlet of Pereiro, close to the village of Moncarapacho, Olhao. There is a bar/restaurant within 500 metres and the property is within easy reach of many other restaurants, supermarkets and bars. Regular ferries run to the many Islands. Seafood is delivered fresh daily to the fish markets in Olhao.

As a family we visit every year, have done for 15 years now - sometimes 2 or 3 times each year. If you like rustic charm with modern amenities, being away from the madding crowd and with loads of safe space yet a short drive from the main towns this is the place for you. Maxine has a fabulous swimming pool complex, several indoor and outdoor dining areas, large gardens and a real rustic charm that all my family and friends we have taken there all love. The owners are now our friends, and your privacy is assured. It does get extremely hot in the peak months as the older style buildings do not have air con, but a few simple steps make this very easy to control. Fans are provided and during the late afternoon open all doors, rooflights and windows and close the Moroccan style curtains and turn the fans on to allow heat to leave via the roof and you will stay comfortable. During cooler months the pool can be heated, although is still comfortable, but from June to September no need at all. In the extensive grounds you can play football or badminton with the kids, and take pool toys, its a large pool and we play ball games in the water. The pool house is ideal for relaxing and there are plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas. during the evening you can cook in the fully equipped kitchen, barbecue at the outside dining area with huge built in bbq or take a short drive to Moncarapacho where there are a couple of top quality well priced restaurants. During the day visit the nearby market town of Olhao with ancient streets, superb fruit and fish market and shopping mall and supermarkets.
All in all for our needs it is perfect.
I rented this villa as a special treat to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary, taking my 3 grown children, their 2 partners and my mum. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect villa, its location and layout we perfect for each of our needs.
There was sufficient space for quiet independent moments and we felt totally at home as a group in the well maintained, homely surroundings. The pool was well loved and well used! The rest of the facilities were top-rate and most of our meals were cooked at the villa where we really enjoyed the well equipped kitchen and outside dining area.
Having lived in Portugal we already knew the Algarve very well, but the location of Casa Maxine gave us the opportunity to further explore the Eastern Algarve . Fuzeta beach is just fabulous and we have always liked Olhao. Although it was not too far to drive to enjoy a fishing trip in Vilamoura and days out in Lagos and Portimao. We also drove all along the coast to Spain which revealed more beautiful beaches and unspoiit locations.
A week was certainly not long enough and I would highly recommend this villa to other family and friends - I can't wait to have the opportunity to visit again!
Having visited several times it just gets better and better. Everything you could possibly want and more is readily available. .Couple this with the most congenial of hosts makes a recipe for a perfect holiday

Just returned from a short stay with friends, the Villa was very homely and furnished to a high standard, with everything you could want. Very nice swimming pool and pool house both well maintained and cleaned.
The owners, Bernadette and Graham were very friendly and couldn't be anymore helpful, They were always willing to give advice and recommend nice places to eat and visit.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this Villa to any of my family or friends, and intend to visit again next year!
We are a Danish couple just returned to Denmark after 3 months in Casa Maxine.
The moment the gates opened we felt like coming in Paradise. What a view – a beautiful large garden with plenty of palms and oleander, even on one of the first days in January it was a lovely sight. After a warm welcome by the owners Bernadette and Graham, we entered Casa Maxine, and it nearly took our breath away. A very large lounge, beautiful furnished with a distinct sense of details, the kitchen large, well-equiped and with tiles in warm colours, the bedrooms, the bathrooms were very, very nice and outside a wonderful large terrasse. Immediately we felt we belonged in this cosy house.
As it was winter, we didn’t expect to get much use of the fantastic pool, but the pool was equiped with solar panels, and we could take a swim most of the time. As a curiosity there is a poolhouse with kitchen, lounge, toilet and bath – what a luxury!
Only 100 meters away there is a very nice and cheap restaurant, in Moncarapacho 4 km from the house many cosy restaurants, where we often had a delicious dinner at a very low price.
We have travelled very much around in Europe, often we have rented a house, but never ever we have met so lovely, hospitable, helpful people as Bernadette and Graham, they are really unique! They made our stay the most fantastic experience, and we do miss them very much.
However, we have planned to visit Quinta do Licorne twice within the next year.

Just back home having spent two weeks at casa maxine .Brilliant , excellent accomodation ,superb support from the owners. This is a real home from home (we have spent 5 holidays at this property )The accommodation is well maintained and well presented. The owners are on hand and shold you require any assistance they are more than happy to oblige . We would have no hesitation in recommending this property to family or friends .Further proof is that we are returnig for a17 day holiday next summer . This accommodation is situated 15 km (30 minutes) east of Faro Airport, close to Junction 15 off the east/west auto-route (A22) which gives easy access to the local beaches (6 km), western Algarve and its world renown golf courses (30 minutes), within easy access is Spain and its golf courses (30 minutes) and within easy reach of the village of Moncarapacho (2km) with its many restaurants, coffee shops, museum and church.
Quinta Do Licorne is situated in the hamlet of Pereiro; close to the village of Moncarapacho, Olhao, and is only approximately 4 miles from the nearest beach. It is only 10 minutes to the nearest beaches and islands which are serviced by a regular ferry at the fishing village of Fuzeta, Pedra Del Rei and Barril Beach. Barril Beach has a quaint little train which takes you to miles of unspoilt beaches.

Pets are welcome at Casa Maxine Only.
Casa Maxine is available for long Winter Lease (2+ months) from November to March inclusive at £150 per week plus utilities.
Euro accepted - A 30% deposit (non refundable) is to be paid on confirmation of booking, 70% to be paid within 8 weeks of date of arrival.
A breakage deposit £250 is to be paid on arrival and is refundable in same manner given on verification of non damage to property and or fixtures and fittings or loaned items.
