On the south east of the island, Shanklin is a beautiful, historical old village with a stunning safe beach in a bay. One of the prime locations on the island, it is close to all amenities and the possibilities are endless. With a wonderful sea breeze and its own sunny microclimate, it's the perfect spot for a break. About Owner

My mother was born on the Island and we have been visitors for many years. We are still finding things to do, there is so much in a compact place.

Having selected a short list of places to buy a property, we felt Shanklin has a lot to offer, with a good shopping centre, theatre, loads of restaurants and pubs not to mention a great beach.

Owner purchased this apartment in 2013

Why Owner chose Isle of Wight

When we walked through the door the apartment just felt right. It was light and spacious inside with a great location, being close to a number of different walks. The beach is within 5 minutes walk as is the park and village centre. The town is about 10 minutes walk and the station a couple of minutes further.

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment enjoys a peaceful location with a view from the balcony across Shanklin and Sandown bays, to Culver Down and on a clear day, to the mainland.

A delightfully spacious modern flat with excellent facilities, in a quiet location with sea view

Back for another winter/early spring long stay, our fourth in succession in this fine flat. Everything was in good order as always! David greeted us at Shanklin station on arrival and ensured that we had all we needed. It was good to enjoy the early spring light and warmth (compared to home in Denmark) - a particularly fine spring this year for flowers, in gardens and in the wild. The flat again provided a perfect base for our varied activities - good walks from the doorstep and buses to many parts of the island just a short walk away. Thanks again to David for helping make our visit as enjoyable as always.

Shanklin apartment

We had a lovely break in this clean and comfortable apartment with allocated parking. It is very well equipped. A convenient location within walking distance of amenities and beach. Lots to do in the area. A good place to stay out of season as well as in the main holiday times.

Excellent location for us

The owner met us and kindly gave us a tour of the apartment. Parking and the lift made access easy. The apartment was clean and well furnished, we were lucky with weather and able to enjoy the use of the balcony in the evening. Shanklin has good restaurants, bars and places of interest. There was a welcome pack which was much appreciated too.

We would recommend this apartment.

Excellent spacious apartment

This is a lovely bright and spacious apartment close to Shanklin village.

The property is very well equipped with lots of important extras. For example additional towels, pillows, kitchen supplies etc.

We particularly appreciated the second bathroom, balcony, Sky TV, efficient WiFi, and welcome bottle of wine/fresh bread/teabags/milk.

Thank you David for your warm greeting on arrival and also for your invaluable local knowledge.

We had a fabulous stay and hope to return in the future.

Fantastic, comfortable, well appointed apartment in a lovely seaside village

Everything about this apartment was first class from a detailed and knowledgeable handover from David (the owner) to the wonderfully well appointed apartment that was beautifully presented. Everything was as detailed in the description and more and was spotless on arrival. David knows the island very well and is easy to to talk to, so it is well worth tapping in to his expertise for the best places to visit and the best restaurants both in Shanklin and the island itself.

The property is very comfortable and has two large bedrooms with plenty of storage space. The two bathrooms (one ensuite) are also large and in keeping with the rest of the apartment very well turned out. The open plan lounge, dining area and kitchen is very light, bright and comfortably furnished with all you could wish for including Sky TV, Dishwasher and Washing Machine. The living area has a very larger glass wall which opens on to large balcony that gets the sun from first thing in the morning until early afternoon, a great place to have your breakfast or if a little later rising your brunch. The apartment was on the second floor and and benefits from a lift to access especially useful when taking the luggage up and down.

The apartment is situated very close to Shanklin Old Village and a very short walk to Shanklin's wonderful beach so is in the perfect position this lovely seaside village.

We would recommend this apartment to anyone (except those with younger children because of the balcony) and would not hesitate to book again if returning to Shanklin.

In terms of attractions we really enjoyed the 4 crazy golf courses in Shanklin (Rylstone Gardens course is only two minutes away), Osbourne House and Carisbroke Castle. The Corner restaurant in Shanklin is very good with very marvelous food, great staff and really nice atmosphere.

All in all a brilliant holiday.

Beautiful apartment in a superb location

We have visited the Isle of Wight three times in the last ten years and this was by far the best holiday we have had there. It's a long car journey from the North East but the journey was well worth it. We were met at the apartment by the owner (even though we were nearly 90 minutes late due to delays in traffic and ferry crossings) and he showed us round the apartment...and provided some groceries and a very welcome bottle of wine...a really nice touch.

The apartment is modern, large and airy, well furnished and with a great view over Shanklin bay. The grandchildren loved spending early morning on the balcony having breakfast. It is about a 15 minute walk down to the seafront and beware..there are a few 'steepish' hills to climb or if you're fit enough you can descend and ascend by the cliff steps - all 150 of them. If you don't want this challenge try the cliff lift.

There are numerous attractions on the island for young and old......with numerous beaches and harbours to explore.

The apartment is a 5-minute walk to the beach down steps or 10-minute via easier route. Shanklin's famous old village is only a 5-minute walk from the apartment and Sandown, Lake, Bonchurch and Ventnor are all nearby. Newport, the Island's capital, is a 20-minute drive from the apartment.
