|Minimum Stay||7 nights|
Nestled into the island, surrounded by flowering plants and bushes, this charming vacation home has a full screened-in porch just right for reading, lunch or evening cocktails. Hearing the waves on the beach and watching the diminishing evening sunlight, you can fire up the porch grill or bike to one of the restautants... Taste and Sea or Staniel Cay Yacht Club. Some weekends there is a cook-out on the Public Beach to raise money for the school or library. From your comfortable bedroom you view the back garden beyond the deck. The stone walk leads to the sandy beach where the blue-green water beckons. There's a small reef for some snorkeling and a Cassurina tree for shade. For sunbathing or night sky watching, climb the stairs by the outside shower where you get a panoramic island view.
There is plane service from both Ft Lauderdale and Nassau. Staniel Cay lures many vacationers looking for a quiet getaway. Some come in their own plane landing on the 3,000 ft runway that has a large parking ramp. For the adventurous there is a somewhat weekly freight boat out of Nassau. We will be glad to help with recommendations.
This house is ideal for a couple looking for a getaway, very modest looking but it was everything we dreamed of.
It's only a few steps away from a beautiful mostly private beach, where we relaxed for hours at a time all alone, and snorkeled on the reefs nearby.
The house itself is very cozy and I feel the pictures don't do it justice. It's very spacious for a couple, fully equipped kitchen, working Internet, phone, TV, big shower, comfortable and clean bed, and a very good central A/C with remote control, board games, front porch with hammocks and lounge chairs, even had a couple bicycles.
I spoke to Jack (owner) over the phone before booking and he was always very warm and accommodating, even helping me pick out the best dates to visit. He was able to respond in very short notice and looked out for us to make sure we enjoyed our stay.
The bicycles they keep at the house were a great mode of transportation, you can get across the island to the yacht club in a few minutes without breaking a sweat.
The locals are also very friendly and helpful so don't be shy, make some friends and enjoy your stay!
Note that it's very important to coordinate your boat reservations before arriving, the demand is high and you do not want to miss visiting the many attractive spots that are a only a few miles away by boat - we were lucky to book last minute on two separate days through Berkie's General Store by the airport. They all knew Jack personally and helped us out big time.
My wife and I had a wonderful time and would love to have stayed more than 4 nights, we just got back home yesterday and can't wait to watch all the videos and photos we took during our trip.
Accommodations at Horizon Found were perfect for the two of us. Comfortable, very clean, brightly colored, gardens wonderful, everything worked perfectly. Nice beach just 100'+ away that was all to ourselves and water so clear and beautiful. Wife just loves the beach and ocean and this turned out to be a perfect anniversary get-away. I made some serious brownie points with this trip.
Meals a Staniel Cay Yacht Club were convenient and very good and the 3 little grocery stores near by made it easy to get some basic items. Got in the water with the nurse sharks at the club, pretty neat experience. We rented a boat for a day to visited the pigs and the surrounding sites and a golf cart for our stay to get around. Would highly recommend Horizon Found for a simple laid back easy time or an adventure in the ocean.

stayed here a year ago may 12-19th and we have been dying to go back. Our honeymoon was a dream and Horizon Found made it perfect. Everyone was so helpful and kind.
From booking our stay with Jack and Gail to spending an amazing vacation staying at Horizon Found, it felt like home. Everything we needed was at the house, and it was the perfect place to stay. The location is fantastic, with essentially our own private little beach right across the way. The bikes were a welcome mode of transportation and I can't say more about the hospitality. It was truly a great stay and I would definitely come back again!
If you’re looking for a place to get away from it all, relax and kickback, Horizon
Found on Staniel Cay is the place. The house is located on a beautifully landscaped property nestled among luscious tropical foliage. The perfect place for —a staycation—to escape civilization or a cold harsh winter. I felt totally at home spending a month at Horizon Found, as the house provided me with all the comforts of home. From the fully equipped kitchen to the wrap around porch with hammock, to the tranquil blue waters just a few steps away from the house. Every morning I could take a walk photographing the island and return for a dip in the calm waters across the lane from the house. And the porch provided the perfect place to have a Sundowner and take in a glorious sunset each evening. The bicycles provided allowed me to peddle a short distance away for groceries and explore some of the more distant beaches for shells without having to rent a golf cart. Internet and satellite TV kept me in touch with civilization if I wanted to, but I can honestly say, I spent more time drawing, snorkeling and soaking up the beauty of the island. Horizon Found offered me privacy and a sense of security as a solo traveler. And the house and location would be a perfect vacation spot for a family or a romantic couples' getaway. During my stay, I felt like I got to know almost all the permanent residents of the island, who made me feel very welcome. And I can’t say enough about the owners of Horizon Found, who helped me out getting settled in at the house. I hope to be able to return some day and highly recommend the property.
We could not have had a better trip! We had the pleasure of staying at Horizon Found for 2 weeks. The owners were wonderful to talk to and I think we've made life-long friends! When we arrived, we flew into Black Point because of work being done on Staniel Cay airport. That turned out to be a great thing because we had a very quick taxi ride to the dock and then Coral and Brian picked us up and we had a gorgeous boat ride to Staniel. Was a great way to see the water and relax a bit from the travel. Our golf cart was waiting on the dock and we were at the house in minutes. The house is so wonderful and private. The screen porch goes all around the house with many chairs/rockers outside to sit and ponder. I spent many hours just sitting. Also had a few lizard friends on the screen that were very entertaining! The porch was particularly nice during the few days we had rain. The landscaping is tremendous and this is one of the few houses with a lot of privacy. Flowering plants and trees surround the house and it's all very well maintained. Inside, the house is very clean and well kept. The kitchen has every gadget you will ever need and ample cooking pots/pans/dishes. Everything is labelled, which was wonderful. No guess work on anything. Linens were fresh and the towels were fluffy. Cable and internet worked the entire time and there are a large variety of TV channels. The living area from the living room and the dining room was a very nice size with lots of room to move. The decor was charming with a nice island feel. We loved all the windows and glass doors. Every room has a view (a great highlight!). Many times we would open the doors/windows and just enjoy the breeze. The entire dining room has 2 walls of full length glass doors/windows. It's gorgeous. We enjoyed the sounds of the tree frogs at night and even made friends with a crane that would come for a walk around the house every day. There is a deck above the water tank that you can use as a suntan area or just watching the stars. It has a GREAT view of the island. The best part for us was the gorgeous beach right in front of the house! Just steps away from the house! We snorkeled almost every day and there is a small reef on that beach. Right at the end was a wonderful variety of fish - all kinds and colors. Larry, the on-site go-to guy, was wonderful. He drove by almost every day to make sure we had all we needed. Very nice and very friendly! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! LOVED OUR STAY!
