Holiday at Orba
We spent 10 days in this lovely house. The house and the pool are were nice and clean. The area is quiet. From the top level of the house there are fantastic views of the valley and the mountains. Short distance to a nice supermarket, where you can easily walk. Friendly owners who always respond quickly. A house we would like to return to.
Orba Valley Winds
This Luxury Villa is no doubt very good in the summer, it has everything you could need and is well equipped. The location is excellent with a very short walk into Orba. The views are excellent across the valley, picture opportunities spoiled by the unscheduled emptying of the pool, with the owners totally missing the point as to why this was an issue.
What we now know is that in January the winds across the valley are very strong, we were only able to sit outside the Villa for a short time despite temperatures around 20 degrees. However when we went away from the Villa we spent a lot of time outside. Looking around a lot of Villas had glass surrounds protecting their balconies, these however need to be robust and strong. This particular Villa had a DIY surround, that did not look very strong, and was in fact tied back, rattled a lot in the wind, having to be silenced with various cushions. There were clear notices forbidding guests to use them, so it was not possible to use the balcony and enjoy the amazing views. Our strong advice is to ensure that any Villa used in the winter has a strong glass surround. The neighbouring Villa had a strong framed surround which looked to be permanent. Had we understood the need for a surround, we would certainly have checked before booking.
That said we had a good week, Orba is lovely and has many places to visit within less than an hour. We are sure that this Villa would be fine in the Summer with everything you might want.
Thank you for your comments regarding the quality of our villa, its facilities, location and excellent views. During the past 16 years we have never had anything but excellent reviews and feedback regardless of the time of year guests stay - over 90% of guests return many times. It is disappointing that you felt it necessary to rate it 3 stars. Whilst this is your prerogative, the comments are mostly inaccurate. We are responding so that future guests can make a decision based on facts and not the opinion of one guest.
Regarding the unfortunate emptying of the pool for maintenance, this was carried out two days before the guests were due to leave and was a mistake by the pool man. I am confused by the guest’s comment about “totally missing the point”. The e-mail received from them states that “it has been completely emptied without any warning and so unusable” and “It is very warm here today and clearly it cannot be used” Therefore, I assumed that the guests wanted to use the pool - perhaps I missed something? In terms of photo opportunities, the villa has fantastic, almost 360-degree views, with or without the pool.
The comment relating to the glass “DIY surround, that did not look very strong” is derogatory and incorrect. The glass curtains are the strongest and most robust available and were installed by a local company who have several installations in the village. They are not designed to permanently glaze in a terrace and currently we choose not to make them available for guests. To state that “it was not possible to use the balcony and enjoy the amazing views” is completely incorrect - we were at the villa for three weeks before these guests and sat out on the terrace most afternoons (without the use of the glass curtains). It is unfortunate that the guests had some windy weather, which can happen throughout the year, not just in January as they seem to think.
These guests were inconsiderate towards the person who looks after our house, for example; they contacted her because “the gas fire wouldn’t light” She called them to check they were in and visited less than 20 minutes later. They had gone out. This in itself is not a major issue but does demonstrate a particular attitude. When she contacted them again, it transpired that they had simply not turned the gas bottle on!
Please do make up your own mind when deciding to rent our villa, by viewing all of the reviews from our many guests, and not just one opinion.
You will not find a better villa than this
Look no further - This is the one to book.
This villa is by far the best one we have stayed in in this area.
Easy to book, spotlesly clean upon arrival, fully equiped with everything you need, convenient to walk into the town and stunning views over the valley.

Outstanding villa. Stunning village
We have stayed here for the last three years. Next year makes it four. Not one single negative. The positives are numerous
Scenery, view, pool, weather. The list is endless. Great communication from Steve the owner. It is pure heaven.
Location, Location, and MUCH more
We have rented quite a few villas over the past years around Nerja, Benidoliege and Orba, and are used to the quality of villas. Casa Pedro however, ticks all the boxes - total privacy, great pool, fantastic views, spacious rooms, Wi-Fi, quiet and peaceful. Best of all is the location. Within 7-10minutes walking distance, you find yourself in the middle of Orba. It meant you dander down for a meal at night, have a drink, and dander home, without the worry of taking the car out.
Superb villa in an outstanding location
This was our second visit to this villa, it does not fail to impress. An hours drive from Alicante airport to Orba. The drive from the motorway goes through the lush vegetation of the valley to the base of the mountains.
The villa is an ideal base to visit the area or just relax in the pool. It is well maintained and clean. Orba center is only a 5 minute stroll and offers good facilities for fresh foods, small bars and restaurants. A car is essential to take full advantage of the location. Trains to explore the coast or travel up to Valencia are within easy reach and are cheap and frequent.
If you want something different from a beach holiday you will not be disappointed with a stay at this villa
Orba is a small, typical Spanish country village with just over 1600 inhabitants. The area still retains its local Spanish culture with many Fiestas during the year, featuring a wide variety of different events, including street dancing, firework displays, marching bands, religious celebrations and parades.
It is situated 20km inland from the popular coastal resorts of Javea and Denia, and approximately 1 hour’s drive from the airports of Valencia and Alicante, via the excellent AP7 Motorway
