Overview

About the property

Modern house close to Yosemite, sleeps up to 10

Yosemite’s Favorite Basecamp meets the needs of almost all travelers. Couples will enjoy the privacy of the entire property to themselves when they rent the Midpines House. Larger groups (up to 10 people) are able to spread out while still enjoying each other's company. You can choose to add on the Bungalow for more space. Parties over 8 persons automatically rent the house and Bungalow, while parties of 8 or less can add it on for additional fees. This place is very private and very special. The Master bedroom has queen sized bed, a loveseat, and comes stocked with high thread count sheets and goose down duvet. The attached bathroom has granite countertops, a 'tall-person' shower and thick fluffy towels.

The Guest bedroom also has a queen sized bed and a nice view of the night sky and surrounding mountains.

The livingroom has a fold out couch and separate futon style beds.

There is a gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances, quartz counter tops, completely stocked with modern cooking and baking tools.

The spacious, open living & dining room has plenty of seating, a 42' Flat Screen TV, and a wood-burning stove.

The Hot Tub is surrounded by a large wrap-around redwood deck. The back Patio has a 6 person dining table, a Gas BBQ, a Fire bowl and plenty of additional seating.

The "Bungalow" is a detached game room. We added it to allow larger groups to spread out. Adults enjoy having a place for their children to watch TV or play games while they enjoy the back patio. The Bungalow gameroom is separate from the house (about 300 ft away) and offers the same amenities as the house minus the full kitchen. The Bungalow has a very large living room area attached to the bar area. The bar has a mini fridge, a sink, and seating for six at a unique wood slab bar top. Above the bar is a small TV. In the living room, enjoy a large flat screen TV, leather couch, a Foosball table, and a remote controlled gas fireplace. There is a nice patio outside the Bungalow and a covered porch to enjoy even in the winter.

A short drive through the gorgeous Merced River canyon brings you to Yosemite National Park. Ample free parking on site. Back yard patio has hammocks in the summer, fire pit in the winter - the perfect place to gaze at the stars. The House and Bungalow are tastefully decorated with National Park themed photographs and paintings, many by local artists. Everything about the Midpines House and Bungalow are new and fresh.

About Ansley Singer

Ansley & Kelly Singer

We have lived and worked in Yosemite National Park our whole lives. Please enjoy our home on your next trip to the Sierras.

Ansley Singer purchased this house in 2007

Why Ansley Singer chose Yosemite Area

We originally bought the Midpines House to live in full time. It's location made getting to and from Yosemite very easy and we enjoyed owning our own property (working for the Park Service, we had been living in government housing).

Midpines, which is between Yosemite and Mariposa, has great oak and pine trees, stays cooler than the lower elevations nearby, and provides great access to one of the best rivers in the state - the Merced River.

After a successful summer of renting the Midpines House we converted 740 square feet of our detached garage into the Midpines Bungalow (a large gameroom). We hope that this additional space will allow more people to enjoy our home, and accommodate families traveling together or larger groups.

What makes this house unique

Surrounded by 5 acres of amazing property, the Midpines House and Bungalow gives you room to spread out.

We love sitting on the decks, admiring the views of the mountains.

The open feel of the house, having friends over, cooking a great meal in the kitchen, and relaxing by the fire are some of my favorite times in this home.

Great memories are made sitting under the stars, taking a soak in the unique cedar jetted hot tub, and sunbathing on the master bedroom deck.

People of all ages love this home, it will be compfortable for your family as you explore all that Yosemite has to offer.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I have to admit that I am very sad we are leaving tomorrow! Three nights is simply not enough to enjoy Yosemite and this perfect retreat! Thank you for renting this place out, we had an amazing time and will be back, next time for a week!

Very nice home, did not have access to game room

  • 3 of 5

My family was very happy with the home and its proximity to Yosemite and Mariposa. We ate at a couple of the restaurants and the ice cream store in Mariposa and they were all surprisingly good. The home was comfortable, though the heat was off when we entered on a Friday early evening and after turning on the heat, it didn't feel warm enough in the home until Saturday morning. My only disappointment was that the description of the house and other reviews mentioned a foosball table that we would have enjoyed. However, this is in a building separated from the main house, and locked. So we never were able to make use of this bonus area.

FANTASTIC RENTAL HOUSE.....LOVED LOVED

  • 5 of 5

We are a retired couple from Kentucky & our grown daughter from the Bay Area ....plus our beloved furry dogs stayed in this super house for 5 nights in March 2017. We come to Mariposa a couple times a year & have stayed in several rentals.....BUT this was by far the best we have experienced. House was spotless clean & we had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. We're a very picky family & we couldn't find any faults. Also...the outside space was clean & roomy that we enjoyed as much as the inside....the owners have it all together to make your stay enjoyable. We will definitely stay again on our next trip.

Relaxing and inviting

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at the Midpines house several times and we love it more and more each time. The house and the bungalow are well maintained and we appreciate the cozy and modern decor. Ansley has always been accommodating and easy to communicate with. We will be back, often!

Great place to stay and explore Yosemite

  • 4 of 5

I have stayed near Mariposa in the past and the location of this house, in Midpines, works great for a group that wants to explore Yosemite. We were unlucky with the weather but the house is big and comfortable to stay in in a rainy day. I find it bigger than what it looks like in the pictures, and it is a great place to relax after a long day hiking and driving through the park (thanks hot tub!). I hope to be back. Cleaning fee is a bit steep considering the check-out due list.

Great Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We rented the Midpines House for the long Thanksgiving weekend. We spent our days exploring Yosemite (about a 30 minute drive) followed by a wonderful soak in the hot tub. We stayed cozy warm inside with the wood burning stove and were very pleased with the kitchen amenities (since we were cooking a full turkey dinner). The house had some great outdoor features - patio, grill, etc. that we did not take advantage of, but were thoughtfully provided. We would definitely recommend the Midpines House for any season!
