Overview

Yosemite Area House Rental Photos and Description

Modern house close to Yosemite, sleeps up to 10

Yosemite’s Favorite Basecamp meets the needs of almost all travelers. Couples will enjoy the privacy of the entire property to themselves when they rent the Midpines House. Larger groups (up to 10 people) are able to spread out while still enjoying each other's company. This place is very private and very special.

The House is newly remodeled and very comfortably.

Master bedroom has queen sized bed, a loveseat, and comes stocked with high thread count sheets and goose down duvet. The attached bathroom has granite countertops, a 'tall-person' shower and thick fluffy towels.

The Guest bedroom also has a queen sized bed and a nice view of the night sky and surrounding mountains.

The livingroom has a fold out couch and separate futon style beds.

There is a gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances, quartz counter tops, completely stocked with modern cooking and baking tools.

The spacious, open living & dining room has plenty of seating, a 42' Flat Screen TV, and a wood-burning stove.

The Hot Tub is surrounded by a large wrap-around redwood deck. The back Patio has a 6 person dining table, a Gas BBQ, a Fire bowl and plenty of additional seating.

The "Bungalow" is a detached game room. We added it to allow larger groups to spread out. Adults enjoy having a place for their children to watch TV or play games while they enjoy the back patio. The Bungalow gameroom is separate from the house (about 300 ft away) and offers the same amenities as the house minus the full kitchen. The Bungalow has a very large living room area attached to the bar area. The bar has a mini fridge, a sink, and seating for six at a unique wood slab bar top. Above the bar is a small TV. In the living room, enjoy a large flat screen TV, leather couch, a Foosball table, and a remote controlled gas fireplace. There is a nice patio outside the Bungalow and a covered porch to enjoy even in the winter.

A short drive through the gorgeous Merced River canyon brings you to Yosemite National Park. Ample free parking on site. Back yard patio has hammocks in the summer, fire pit in the winter - the perfect place to gaze at the stars. The House and Bungalow are tastefully decorated with National Park themed photographs and paintings, many by local artists. Everything about the Midpines House and Bungalow are new and fresh.

Owners Ansley and Kelly have spent the past 5 years remodeling the property to be the perfect vacation rental for your family and friends

About Ansley Singer

Ansley & Kelly Singer

We have lived and worked in Yosemite National Park our whole lives. Please enjoy our home on your next trip to the Sierras.

Ansley Singer purchased this house in 2007

Why Ansley Singer chose Yosemite Area

We originally bought the Midpines House to live in full time. It's location made getting to and from Yosemite very easy and we enjoyed owning our own property (working for the Park Service, we had been living in government housing).

Midpines, which is between Yosemite and Mariposa, has great oak and pine trees, stays cooler than the lower elevations nearby, and provides great access to one of the best rivers in the state - the Merced River.

After a successful summer of renting the Midpines House we converted 740 square feet of our detached garage into the Midpines Bungalow (a large gameroom). We hope that this additional space will allow more people to enjoy our home, and accommodate families traveling together or larger groups.

What makes this house unique

Surrounded by 5 acres of amazing property, the Midpines House and Bungalow gives you room to spread out.

We love sitting on the decks, admiring the views of the mountains.

The open feel of the house, having friends over, cooking a great meal in the kitchen, and relaxing by the fire are some of my favorite times in this home.

Great memories are made sitting under the stars, taking a soak in the unique cedar jetted hot tub, and sunbathing on the master bedroom deck.

People of all ages love this home, it will be compfortable for your family as you explore all that Yosemite has to offer.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I have to admit that I am very sad we are leaving tomorrow! Three nights is simply not enough to enjoy Yosemite and this perfect retreat! Thank you for renting this place out, we had an amazing time and will be back, next time for a week!

Charming house near Yosemite

  • 5 of 5

Comfortable, well appointed home is approximately an hour's drive from Yosemite. Home is beautifully decorated, clean, has a well stocked kitchen and well maintained. Would definitely rent Midpines House again if visiting Yosemite. Was not impressed with the two local, casual restaurants where we had dinner--Pizza Factory and Sugar Pine Cafe. Owners were very responsive to our questions, and we appreciated the advice regarding the time to arrive at and depart Yosemite to avoid heavy traffic.

All the comforts of home and then some!

  • 5 of 5

We loved the Midpines House! This was our first trip to Yosemite, and the Midpines House was the perfect "base camp". The owners were easy to work with and provided tons of information. They even gave their personal recommendations for hikes throughout the park. Everything in the house was very organized, and we could find everything so easily! What we loved the most about the house though was the outdoor space and the privacy. We enjoyed evenings in the hot tub gazing out onto the property as the sun set. It was a great way to recover from our days hiking in the park. We also enjoyed the free wifi to be able to share our experience with family back home. Overall, this was by far one of the best vacation experiences we have had, and we will definitely recommend the Midpines House to all of our friends and family!

Amazing home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

This home is beautiful very clean and very well stocked with everything you may need for your trip! The hot tub was very nice and my kids loved exploring the property, loved the tire swing, and loved the bungalow! The only complaint is we could not get the heater to work but we were able to keep warm with the fire place. Would recommend and would absolutely stay again.

this is a very nice house, close to Mariposa and Yosemite. We enjoyed the hot tub, wood stove and a very nicely set up kitchen. Looking forward to visiting again in the future.

Thanksgiving stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this lovely home during Thanksgiving. The kids really loved this cabin. There was great wifi and some fun games. There were two queen beds, both quite firm but comfortable. There was also the usual type pull-out in the sofa. There was a very large and comfortable futon in the living room as well. My daughter slept there and loved it.

The kitchen was remarkably well stocked. I made my first rib roast for Thanksgiving, but had no idea that I would need string. I opened a kitchen drawer and there it was, right next to the meat thermometer, which was also a blessing! The house was absolutely spotless and incredibly well organized. There were some condiments in the fridge and some spices in the cabinet. We added a bit more, so I would recommend stopping here first before hitting the grocery store to see what you REALLY need.

The yard and surroundings were beautiful. We made good use of the excellent hot tub every day. Sometimes twice. We were visited by the neighbor's dogs and also a very large coyote that made our dog very very excited.

We made two trips to Yosemite, and were lucky enough to see it right after snowfall. Beautiful! The drive was about 45 minutes down to the main part of the valley.

We ate several nights at Yosemite Bug Hostel, not two minutes down the road. It was very convenient, the food was fresh and delicious, and it was easy to get in and out. It's not cheap, but the food is locally sourced and well prepared, and the atmosphere is very laid back, which we like. We meant to try one of the fancier restaurants in town, but enjoyed the food and convenience of the June Bug Cafe so much, we never made it anywhere else.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It's a great place for a Yosemite stay, or even if you are exploring Mariposa and the Gold Rush area. We highly recommend it.

Midpines house is in a great spot if you want to explore Yosemite for a couple days and want a cozy home to relax in the evening and morning. They are so well-organized, with quality bedding, towels, and kitchen gear. Also great movie selections, in our opinion. Highly recommend this place!!!
