Owner purchased this House in 2016
Why Owner chose Nottingham
We purchased this property in September of 2016. We are looking forward to spending as much time as possible there together as a family. It really has an amount of direct lake frontage which means there are no neighbors on either side of you. Directly across from the lake from us is a New Hampshire state park which means there will never be any development or neighbors. This house and property offer an amazing ideal location that makes you feel like you are on your own private lake shared only with the loons and occasional kayaker paddling by, yet you are still close to everything you might need. Grocery store and multiple restaurants are only 10 minutes away.
What makes this House unique

Beautiful lakefront home with amazing yard and water access
We stayed in August so our hope was to enjoy summer days filled with lake activities and family time together. This rental exceeded our expectations and created the perfect setting for a family getaway. The beach area and floating dock were perfect for adults and children of all ages. There was easy access with kayaks to explore the lake from the yard. The house itself was clean and nicely laid out for a number of people. We had 4 adults and 2 children. The owner was reachable via email anytime we needed her. We've already booked again and can't wait for next summer.
Lived up to all expectations of a lake house holiday - just wonderful.
We were a group of seven - two mums and five children (four 13 year-olds and a 10 year-old). The rooms worked really well with the three boys using the bunk bed room, the two girls the triple room and each mum had their own room (one on the lower floor, away from the main group but with bathroom). The house is well equipped and works very well for a group of seven.
The games room was fantastic on the lower floor. There was Netflix on the telly which meant on the few occasions it rained the children had access to a great array of films, plus there were DVDs a-plenty.
But the outdoors is where it is at! Two big Canadian canoes and a kayak were a source of great adventure. We were able to split into teams and race to one of the many islands in the lake to make base and compete for the flag. We found an island with a rope swing (albeit you had to avoid the rock as you flew in!) and just many that were fun to explore and take a picnic to.
The private platform just off the shore provided hours of fun to the five children as they dived off or threw each off. Such joy to watch your children having so much fun!
We couldn't see or hear our neighbours (though I fear they could hear us!) and so achieved the isolation we were looking for. We also lit fires on a couple of nights and toasted our marshmallows - and had the unexpected delight of fireworks on both occasions.
We did some open water swimming (the lake was a really pleasant temperature - was expecting it to be freezing) but did have to keep to the edge as motor boats to come up the centre and there are people waterskiing and jet skiing. This seemed to be much quieter in the week, suggesting that there were a number of weekend owners who perhaps were in Boston in the week.
It was 15 minutes to the nearest supermarket which was very well stocked and so although achieved a sense of remoteness, we really weren't far from civilisation and there was a cinema and bowling alley equally close had we needed it.
Finally - the views from the balcony were just beautiful and the environment so peaceful. There were so many moments where we were filled with a sense of complete tranquility.
Amazing Spot for Family Vacation
Great location to kick back with Family and enjoy the lake, great wildlife sightings, fishing, and views from the sweeping deck. House is great, couldn't ask for more!
Little slice of Heaven
Thank you for sharing your little slice of Heaven, what a beautiful spot! Everything was clean, and tastefully decorated and the furniture was comfortable. The layout of the house and yard flow beautifully, it was perfect for family to gather for meals, play and visit together. The lake was very peaceful most of the time, even on the weekends when it was more busy, the location on the lake was never too busy.
This is a place where memories are made. I was grateful that the beach entry to the water was sandy for the first 10 feet or so, then rocky, it kept my toddler grandchildren from wandering too deep into the water. My grandsons caught fish off the dock, built sand castles, and swam for hours. My oldest grandson did his first (then many) cannonball off the floating dock. I overheard my nephew when returning from kayaking say, "This is the best day of my life!"
If you like what you see in the pictures, you'll love it in person. Barbara is a gracious and accommodating host. We hope to stay again.
