Naples House Rental Photos and Description

Imagine staying in a beach house on your own private island in Naples

Your own, brand-new, elegant and luxurious one-level beach house on Keewaydin Island, called KeeIsland, is nestled in greenery, with a clear view of the white sugar sand beach and sparkling blue water just twenty yards away from windows and openings towards the sea which are practically wall-to-wall, verandahs and balconies.

Stroll or jog along the secluded beach at your leisure. Relax on beach chairs and watch the friendly small rollers coming in at sunrise or sunset. Do some beachcombing or take in a paddle with the provided Stand Up Paddleboards.

Swim or snorkel in the clear, warm waters. Learn how to paddleboard or windsurf!

Birds soar overhead or nest in the surrounding trees. Dolphins and manatees frolic in the water just steps away.

You’ll feel as if you’re on your own private island, but if you feel in the need for company you can take the provided motorboat over to Naples or one of the other surrounding islands to take in the a lunch or grocery shop there.

KeeIsland has three spacious bedrooms and extra sleeping spaces, so there’s plenty of room for up to nine people to enjoy this peaceful island paradise.

About Keewaydin Island:

Keewaydin Island is an eight-mile long barrier island off the coast of Naples, with only 13 private homes on the whole island!

There are no roads on the island and no cars. You’ll be in your own private world– but there’s plenty to do if you love swimming, paddle boarding, beachcombing or just taking it easy and enjoying beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

You can also enjoy the beauty of the protected natural preserve of Rockery Bay, which surrounds us and features bays and mangrove forests. Check out the beauty of Rockery Bay at their website:

About KeeIsland House

The oceanfront estate of KeeIsland is surrounded by lush greenery and a great view of the sugar white sand beach and brilliant blue water of the bay. If you’re a bird watcher you’ll be in heaven, and if you love ocean-watching for the chance to see manatees or dolphins, this is the place for you

KeeIsland House is a brand-new home built to the highest specifications for “green” living that is also luxurious living.

This 3,000 square-foot luxury beach home, fully furnished, is entirely powered by state-of-the-art solar panels. You are completely off-grid here, but rest assured you’ll never notice the difference from on-grid living!

As you wait for dinner, relax and chat with your friends in the completely screened-in outdoor patio. From the patio you can see the trees and the oceanscape beyond. There’s also a patio off the Master Bedroom.

All of the patio area features twelve-foot high ceilings and the living room area has plate-glass windows that are practically wall-to-wall. There’s air-conditioning in summer and heating in winter, of course.

The bedrooms come equipped with big-screen TVs and you can choose from over 350 channels. Browse the web on your computer with lightning-like speed thanks to our high speed internet.

Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom. The master bathroom is rather special – there’s an outdoor tub (don’t worry – there’s no one around but you and your guests!) and spectacular scenery to enjoy while you bathe.

At breakfast, lunch or dinner time the delicious aromas will waft to you from the open kitchen.

All amenities are provided, from luxurious linens for the bedrooms to towels and tropical lemongrass soaps for the bathrooms.

In the kitchen, the refrigerator, microwave and oven are top of the line, as are the blender, toaster and coffee maker. There’s a washer and dryer in the utility room also.

All silverware and plateware are provided, and you’ll arrive to a fully stocked pantry.

A motorboat is definitely an amenity when you’re on an island. The rental of the boat and a full tank of gas is included in the price of your stay. You’ll also find paddleboards, windsurfers, water skiis, which are easy to use and tons of fun.

How You’ll Get to Keeisland House

There is no bridge from the mainland, so we will take you and your entire party and luggage to KeeIsland House via boat, which is a trip of only 40 minutes.

We’ll also be back to pick you up at the end of your stay.

You won’t be marooned, of course. There’s a motorboat at the KeeIsland House dock which is easy to use, and maps to take you to the surrounding islands or in to Naples. We have provided maps for how to get to Winn Dixie and back.

About Espen P Schiefloe

A back ground in resort real estate development, Espen has a love for the tropical having been spoiled by the worlds greatest hotels, resorts and homes...incorporated all that he has learned about what creates the best tropical experience...

Espen P Schiefloe purchased this house in 2010

Why Espen P Schiefloe chose Florida South Gulf Coast

Florida has an abundance of beautiful beaches, waterways, cities and attractions...yet the critical eye and more experienced you get with south Florida, the south west gulf coast city of Naples is as nice as it gets. Then you take it one step further and the 7 mile long barrier island south of Naples is practically undeveloped. so instead of your gulf front home costing 12+ million (starter Naples gulf front home) you have an even nicer gulf front home location with unbeatable natural features of your boat and bay on the back side and essentially a private beach..

What makes this house unique

Its really about the experience...Here, you get to get back to nature, see some wild life, have space to feel your soul breathe and feel that you are one with a tropical wont get that in town...

Guestbook comments from the owner

I have been blessed in my life to travel to many exotic and beautiful places. Your house on Keywadin ranks up there in my experiences as one of the best, if not the best, true vacation paradises in the world. I have never experienced such a remote, off the grid, yet luxurious and close to civilization place in my life. The house was fantastic, the boat was awesome, and the beach was the best! We had miles of beach practically to ourselves, yet Marco and Naples were only a half hour away. When we arrived your Team took over and helped us get settled in, even with an over abundance of supplies. The wildlife is amazing, and sitting on the screened porch at night, just soaking in the whole venue with a cocktail by the fireplace, running out to catch the sunset, and going back to prepare the fish we caught for dinner was priceless. It is truly an amazing place and a lifetime experience. I will definitely be back. I feel lucky to have stumbled onto this gem searching the web. Your hospitality was the icing on the cake. Keep up the great work!

My family and I just came back from a very peaceful week at this beautiful property. I can't express our gratitude enough to the welcoming and attentive caretakers Shawn, Gretchen and Garrett who make the place run so smoothly. I believe the place wouldn't be as inviting without the three of them looking over it, seeing to all of a visitor's needs and comforts.

The beach is beautiful, calming and private with the surrounding nature just as peaceful. The house itself is accurately described and as photographed, being well equipped and VERY clean.

Thank you very much Shawn, Gretchen and Garrett for a wonderful vacation.

Wonderful, relaxing, peaceful beach vacation on what felt like our own private island!

  • 5 of 5

Propert manager Shawn picked us up in the boat at the marina. The entire boat ride over to the island, Shawn briefed us on all aspects of the house, island, boat and all other important info. Very good and thorough use of the time in the boat.

Upon arrival at the house's private dock, Garret and Espen welcomed us as they were all on the island doing some work around the house that morning. While Garret transported our luggage and groceries to house, Shawn and Gretchen gave us the walk-through. Again, very thorough and informative.

The house is awesome!! Just like a beach house you'd see in the movies, tucked away in the palm trees and vegetation behind a slight wind-break sand dune.

The beach was practically deserted! As far as we could tell, there was only one other house occupied. It was the very adjacent house, but they are spaced far apart, and they were far enough down the beach that we practically didn't even notice them.

As per Shawn and Gretchen's advice, in an effort to keep the heat out of the house, we cooked almost all meals on the outside grill using either the grate or the cast-iron skillets. It worked out great!!!

Speaking of food, I highly suggest sticking with their recommendation of Wynn's Market for seafood and steaks/meat. It's a bit pricey, but the seafood was fresh, the selection was awesome and the people there were incredibly nice!

It is totally worth noting how kind and accommodating the entire crew were. We traveled with my wife and two daughters, and my wife's parents. Our 3 year old has special needs and has some sensory sensitivities including auditory sensitivities. She gets very frightened by, and cannot process certain noises - especially loud, unfamiliar noises. This is the first time we have taken her on a vacation - first time on a plane, first time on a boat. We were extreme nervous how she would react to the sounds. We explained this ahead of time to Shawn. Shawn was so careful with the boat and how fast he was going. He kept looking to see how our daughter was reacting before he would - very slowly and gradually - accelerate the engine of the boat. It was very noticeable how much attention he took to making sure she was okay and comfortable. He was so careful with gradually introducing her to the sound and feel of the engine that she soon fell asleep for almost the entire boat ride out.

Garret drove us back at the end of the week. He was just as careful and thoughtful as Shawn. Thank you all very much!!

Wonderful time in unspoiled paradise!

  • 5 of 5

My family of six (kids 3-13) stayed on Keewaydin island the first couple weeks of June. We found the home to be better than advertised, well-maintained and very well-stocked. We were well taken care of and wanted for nothing while on the island.

Prior to our trip, my wife was concerned about the remoteness of the island and likely challenges that might ensue. Once on the island, we quickly realized that a little planning and organization neutralized any challenges presented by the remote location.

While on the island, our family enjoyed paddle boarding, swimming and boating into Naples and Marco for dinner. In addition, we found the fishing fantastic, catching snook daily on the beach and a wide array of fish on the bay side. Lastly, the beach was largely deserted which made for fantastic shelling every morning.

The setting of this home is very special. If you are looking for a beautiful beach vacation in a natural setting, this home will not disappoint you.

Owner's Response: A stay at Keewaydin always brings our family back to a connection with nature. It's the experience of the smells, sights, wildlife that echo our true nature devoid of the city streets and noise. We thank you for your review describing your experience. As with most things in life, in order to know it, we must ourselves experience it. Reviews are especially important for this location and experience precisely because of its unique off the grid eco friendly remote yet near bye civilization. Many of our guests come back each year, and we hope that you do as well. Thanks again for taking the time to provide a review.

An amazing house in an amazing location

  • 5 of 5

We have rented vacation homes in some very beautiful places in the past (Key West, Big Pine Key, St John USVI) and this property stands out as the most enjoyable we have ever rented. The combination of the beach, the island and the house were an incredible experience for our entire family. The owner and his team do a wonderful job of assisting without being intrusive.

Great Relaxing Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

If you want to get away from it all and spend time with the family- this is your place. The house is better than shown in photos. The beds are super comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked. The beach was beautiful and most of the time completely empty except for us. We felt like we were in our own private paradise. We fished, paddleboarded, collected magnificent shells and spent time together as a family. We have 4 kids, 14, 13, 11 and 11 (boys and a girl) and the all found fun things to do and try. We loved the sandbar where you could find live sand dollars by the handfull. We went to the south tip and boat lunch and ice cream from the food boats. We went to Naples and San Marco out to eat. Loved Island Gypsy Cafe. We saw raccoons, turtles, armadillos, iguanas, man of war, stingrays, butterflies, all kinds of birds, fish, and dolpins. The best trip I've ever had. I want to go back again and this time let our extended family in on our secret place. The hosts were amazing and highly recommended. I am like others who have stayed here- want to keep this our secret so we can continue to book time here in the future. We were there in August 2015

The south west gulf coast of Florida is world renowned for its white powder sugar sand beaches, safe and warm and calm water for swimming make the water accessable to everyone. Keewaydin Island itself is considered to be one of Americas top 10 most beautiful beaches and considering you have several acres of it to your self, most of the pleasure will be in activities surrounding your beach front home. From shelling, to walking, swimming, stand up paddle boarding, boating, fishing, having your bare feet on the sand, taking in the salt sea air and the abundant nature that surrounds you. Your stay here is about nature and access to the island is by BOAT only. 40 Years ago, the environmental movement finally said enough already and stopped a planned bridge and road to the island. So this is where development in Florida stops. It's as if the entire state of Florida is paved over and then you come to the end of the road at beautiful Naples and across Gordon pass lies a natural paradise, kee Island.

If you have fisherman or woman in your group, its tough to beat the fishing right off the beach (there is a great sand bar just off shore) and then the dock side has the best snook fishing anywhere.

There are more places to explore then you can imagine. An easy trip is to good land, with a couple of bars and live music. Marco Island and Naples in either direction offer plenty of places to explore.

If you want some fine dining and shopping, water parks and so forth, venturing out to Naples and Marco Island opens up other possibilities. First and foremost, great shopping and dining. Naples is a haven for wealthy retirees, and therefore you can expect the top world class dining, shopping and golfing. Two recomended in town adventures are the Botanical gardens and the Zoo. Either one is a 15 minitue drives from our marina in town.

Within Naples, we have a whole foods, trader joes and a couple organic markets. Our favorite organic market, food and thought, happens to be where we go frequently to dine for lunch, grab some organic food and head out to the island. That concludes our in town Naples suggestions.

Very often, we charachterize this island beach house experience as a place to for a wonderful peaceful escape...a place to hang out with family and friends....a time to relax..

A typical stay for our guests starts with a grocery store shop for several days. The house has all the staples already, such as spices, drinking water, towels etc. you only need to plan your meals and bring the fresh whole foods with you.

Arriving at our check in time at 3 pm. our representative loads your groceries and lugguge on to the boat. You can park and leave your car there free of charge for the week.

Once aboard, the 45 minute scenic boat ride follows navigation makers south through Naples bay, down the intercoastal water way for approximately 5-6 miles. Then you arrive on our bayside dock. We show you how to tie up the boat, bring your luggage and groceries to the house and orientate you with the home and answer any questions you have. This is the fun part because at this point your in awe at how beautful it is and how happy you are to have your own island and private beach.

We call this adventure our tropical dream...As it combines the absolute very best that Florida has to offer. From the most beautiful waters and beaches and nature and wild leave concrete and mayhem behind and enter paradise...Its what the salt air and warm sun and the entire environment surrounding you bathes your soul...
