About Brett Jarvis
Pocono Dream Cabins is family owned and operated. After moving to the Poconos from NYC, we soon discovered how amazingly beautiful and serene the Poconos truly are--especially considering how close we are to NYC and Philadelphia. Our cabins are approximately 1.5 hours from NYC and 2 hours from Philadelphia. We have had guests from as far away as Holland, and as close as just across the border of New Jersey. Our cabins are fully stocked with all the amenities, including towels and linens.

Very nice house
House was clean and big enough for the entire family.
Great little getaway house!
I booked the Hemlock House last week and the family loved it! The house is spacious with 2 separate living areas upstairs (which meant a private suite for the wife, me, and our 9mo old), and downstairs there is an awesome entertainment space with pool, ping pong, foosball, and a TV if you just want to chill. Not to mention the hot tub and fire pit outside!
All in all we loved our stay and will absolutely be booking again next year.
Dingmans Ferry vacation
We ha a great time. I loved the peace and quiet, and my kids loved that they had room to run around. There is plenty of room to stretch out, the amenities are great, and it was nice and clean. Great location, too. I would (and will) highly recomend this property to others.
Nice Getaway in the woods
Good size house in good condition with 4 over sized bedrooms, a large game room and two kitchens which was great for all the meals we cooked for our gang. Two refrigerators, ovens, and plenty counter space. There were a number of issues that were not taken care of. The most major was that the fireplace downstairs had been used by the prior guests and charred wood was left or the flue has a problem and the entire downstairs smelled so bad we could not sleep there the first night. We had asked for drapes or curtains to be put on the glass sliding doors upstairs because that can be a sleeping area but it was not done and now we had to move people there the first night and they were up at the crack of dawn due to the light. Another issue was one of the ovens was either defective or not cleaned thoroughly and a fire caught onto the food, and a refrigerator handle was broken. But all was ok as it did not break off. Owner could make this a 5 star place with a little effort.
Friends I'm not sure what to say about this review. We bent over backwards for this guest, accommodating an early check in, providing a tour pre-booking--we even added another picnic table at his request. None of these issues were brought to our attention until several days after departure, along with a demand for a refund. Never mind that the "smoke" issue in the basement mysteriously fixed itself after the first night, nor that nobody had used the fireplace since winter, nor that the chimney had been professionally cleaned at the beginning of the summer, nor that nobody else before or since has made such a complaint. Same thing with the oven, though this review, posted many weeks later, is the first I've heard of it, despite many subsequent bookings during the busiest time of year. The handle on the fridge was indeed a bit loose....a 30 second fix with a screwdriver, for which I would have happily have dispatched one of our maintenance people to fix if it had been brought to my attention. We have specific verbiage in the contract about this--refunds are not given for issues that are not brought to our attention and we have the opportunity to correct *during* the stay. It does nobody any good to complain after the fact about things that can be easily resolved, and we would politely request that those who seek this avenue of demanding money on unsubstantiated claims-- and then writing retaliatory reviews--look elsewhere. For everyone else I hope you will see our dozens of 4 and 5 star reviews on The Hemlock House, as well as our four other properties and be assured that you are in good hands when you stay with us--even when a problem does arise. Thanks!
Very spacious, clean, and secluded. Perfect vacation.
A fun and amazing trip
A total of 4 families and 12 people came for the Memorial Day Weekend getaway. The house is spacious, kids had so fun in the basement play area. Plenty of activities to do within 30 minutes of drive. We had some issues with the microwave and were able to reach the owner quickly. Thank you Brett for your wonderful house, we had a blast!
There is a huge area of public land, lakes, ponds, wetlands, and forest surrounding the property. Nearby you'll find the Mountain Laurel Center with concerts and events, Pecks Pond, where you can see Bald Eagles, rent boats and fish, or eat at the historic Pecks Pond Inn. Lake Wallenpaupack, the third largest body of water in PA, is 20 minutes away. High Knob, one of the highest mountains in the Poconos, is just a few minutes away. Numerous ski areas, golf courses, paintball, boating, hiking, ATV and Snowmobile trails, waterfalls, and more are all in the nearby area. Milford, Stroudsburg, Matamoras, and Hawley are all about 20-30 minutes away. This property is located centrally in the Poconos so you are within a reasonable drive of almost all of the attractions. What is most unique about this property is that it is not in a gated community, unlike most Pocono vacation rentals, so you can enjoy real seclusion while still being close to civilization. As for skiing, the great thing about this location is that you are right in the middle of most of the Pocono ski areas. We get a lot of skiers who want to visit a different area every day. Tanglewood is only 12 miles away, about a 20 minute drive. You are also within 30 miles of Shawnee, Camelback, Mountain Creek, Big Bear, Alpine Mountain, Fernwood, and even Sno Mountain in Scranton is not out of reach.
