Pleasant stay in Stillwater
My mom, sister and I had a great getaway at your quiet and spacious apartment. Thanks!
We were in town for a wedding downtown, and rented this apartment instead of using a local hotel. It was a great alternative!! There was so much space it made the stay very comfortable. We were able to get street parking right out front, and the rental also comes with one off street parking spot just up the street which is great for being downtown! Check in/Check out was very easy and quick! Thanks!!
Thanks for the nice review! Take Care!
Such a cute place for our girls getaway. Being able to walk toall the shops, restaurants and bars was so convenient. We will be making this a yearly trip.
Great place, beautiful space!
The girls and I had a great time, this is such a beautiful, open space. It would be a great meeting place for a large group and sleeps so many! Close to everything downtown, 1000x better than a hotel!
Pleasant, but overpriced
I don't know that spending the amount of money that we were charged (VRBO doesn't permit mentioning specific rates in its reviews, go figure) for 17 hours (check in is 4 p.m., checkout is 11 a.m.) for this two-bedroom second-story flat is worth it. The apartment is perfectly pleasant, with lots of natural light, and high ceilings. A terrific central downtown Stillwater location, and Kari is a friendly, helpful and engaging host. But the sparsely furnished apartment photographs better than it shows. For this price I would have expected better than, for example, 100 percent polyester sheets (awful), shower water pressure that was little better than "drizzle" (it was hot, however, and the plentiful towels were a 100 percent improvement over the sheets) and nearly non-performing internet service. It's nice that there's a nearby parking spot (it's about a half-block away), but the hours of the lot don't coincide with the hours of the rental; we arrived at 4 but couldn't park in the spot until 6:30, a hassle in crowded, parking-challenged downtown Stillwater. There's a nice kitchen with a decent coffeemaker, a working microwave oven and a clean refrigerator, which is pretty much all that anyone needs. But no kitchen towels; no paper towels, or linen towels, or paper napkins. Odd. Would I stay again? At this price, no. Another surprise? The large damage deposit, which was charged the minute I made the reservation but I'm told won't be refunded until seven days after checkout. Plus, I had to supply a credit card number at check-in time for unspecified "charges," should they occur. Frankly, for these prices, I would have preferred to have booked room at the nearby Lowell Inn; less expensive, and a better experience.
Hello! Thanks for the review. Our price is about 54% lower then the downtown hotels for the amount of people they sleep (for you 5 people). It definitely may not be worth the savings to some but for most it is. All Check in times are the same downtown, if you would have asked the apartment was available from 10 a.m. that day. Our pictures are the apartment, we feel our "homes" have enough "stuff" in them and like the non crowded feel. I am sorry the sheets were not good. I would have loved to have personally been told this, so I could simply fix that issue. We keep napkins, towels in the lower left cabinet under the sink. I pay for parking in the lot, the sign says reserved for us, the other signs in the lot don't pertain to us (being you for the night). I was a just a phone call away, I wish you would have called about any/all of the issues. The only one I wouldn't have been able to fix was the sheets. In today's society it is so easy to "rate" people and places but I feel this was unfair. Take Care.
I hosted a bachlorette party for my sister and her girlfriends. We stayed in this space for the weekend and painted dishes for the bride to be. Everything was so wonderful from check in to check out. Including every interaction leading up to our stay! Highly recommended!!
