Built in 2005, it has every modern amenity including Italian tiled radiant heat floors, an indoor/outdoor fireplace and clawfoot tub. You will feel like you have stepped back in time as you cook on the Heartland stove or read tucked into a bay window seat. The picture window looks directly at Steamboat ski area and over a 22 acre pasture; watch for elk, deer, fox, weasels, and hawks.
In the winter, head in to town and catch a free shuttle to the ski area. In the summer, hike in the aspen forest for amazing wildlife viewing near the stream. In the winter, you can add downhill and cross country skiing or snowboarding, dog sledding, powder cat skiing, sleigh rides, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing. Please visit the Steamboat Springs Chamber of Commerce website for more details and reservations.
We have visited the Steamboat Springs area for over 20 years. During our first visits to Steamboat, we fell in love with the broad range of year-round activities and the low key attitude of the community. In the winter, our family enjoys snowshoing, skiing, sledding, snowmobiling, and relaxing in the nearby hot springs. During the summer, we enjoy hiking, fishing, horseback riding, tubing the Yampa River, and just sitting on the porch watching the deer and elk graze in the pasture. Dry Creek Ranch has truly been a blessing and we hope that you enjoy the experience as much as we do!

There are hundreds of properties to rent near Steamboat. This place is truly unique. You are totally secluded here, but still less than 15 minutes from town. You have to really try to even see a very distant rooftop off in Yampa Valley.
As far as the surrounding area is concerned, we chose Steamboat Springs because it's an old west community that happens to have an amazing array of the latest outdoor activities in it's back yard, as opposed to a ski area that built a town at it's base. We love that the foundation of this community was built on a true western ranching lifestyle. Now add a world class ski area and and Olympic Winter Sports Training Facility (Howlson Hill) and you have the making of a truly special place.
Thank you for sharing your fabulous cabin and property with us. Four fly fishermen stayed for our annual fall trip. 1 from Denver, 1 from New York and 2 from Ct.
Caught some big trout in the Yampa and enjoyed a beautiful fall weekend in the 'boat' What A View!!
We stayed at the cabin for our 22nd anniversary hoping to get away from our hectic lives to concentrate on each other. The location is total perfection! The views are a dream! The wildlife was abundant! We had the most amazing time and we didn't feel the need to leave the cabin for meals, in fact we used the grill for our anniversary dinner and decided not to eat in town as was our original plan. The hot-tub was so wonderful with a beautiful view. The property was a dream and plenty roomy for a whole family. We especially enjoyed our nights and mornings by the outside fire enjoying the views and talking. We will be booking again and cannot wait to visit again!!!! The booking was very easy and the communication with the management/owners was wonderful! We absolutely loved everything about this vacation.
We love this place. It's in a beautiful setting with great views and very private. The cabin is very comfortable and relaxing. Hard to leave when it's time to go home.
We had a wonderful time at this cabin. The Hot Tub was crystal clear pristine clean. The firewood was plentiful and we really enjoyed the outdoor fireplace. The property and views were spectacular. The cabin is made with real craftsmanship and care to details. Radiant heat through the floors made it very nice to walk around barefooted on colder mornings. Well appointed furnishings.
I would definitely return and recommend this to others.
The two twin beds are in a loft with access via ladder only. Best for kids or young agile adults.
We would rate this excellent with a few upgrades: a deeper cleaning of the cabin on a more regular basis, a picnic table to eat outside on, a better way to access the loft for less agile people.
A rare gem of a getaway.
This property is a real gem. The location, only 15 minutes from Steamboat
Springs, and yet so secluded was a total treat. Everything in the home was
well appointed and in great condition. We will come back again!
This is a great cozy house. We had a 40th birthday there last year and everything was taken care of and in great shape. I truly appreciate the extra lengths the owners went to in order to take care of us. I can say you will not be disappointed by the house, the hot tub, the property, oh and the lovely property. It is in such an amazing valley and if you like to be a bit secluded but not too far from town, this is the perfect fit. If you like to snowshoe, this is a great property for you to do it on! There is an adorable fox who came up to to the large window 3 or 4 times a day, within only a few feet, what a great friend to meet at such a great place!
5 out of 5 stars.
Thank you for sharing this great cabin experience with us. My wife and I and the dogs had a wonderful time and really experienced the greatness of the "old west" with your classic decorations and quality furnishings, making everything so authentic, and even a real wood-burning fireplace!
I thought he picture of the elk crossing your property was just a postcard until we saw them for ourselves, amazing! Thanks again, Jay & Cathy
