Oceanfront condo with NO damage from HURRICANE MARIA. Electricity returned on Monday, October 23. Water is flowing and all elevators are working. Restaurants and stores are open. Food and water is available as well as gas, all without long lines. Our condo and the area suffered very minimal damage. This is a two-bedroom apartment with kitchen, living room/dining room, two baths and a balcony overlooking the beach/ocean. There is a king-size bed in the master bedroom, two twin beds in the second bedroom and a small air mattress under the bed. On grounds facilities include pool, basketball and tennis courts, picnic tables and barbecues, playground, and beach access. Apartment is centrally air-conditioned and is equipped with washer/dryer, microwave, iron, vacuum, coffee maker, blender, toaster, high-speed internet access (ethernet), TVs, DVD, CD/radio, alarm clock, bath towels, sheets, blankets, pillows, and beach towels.

Bright, lovely, super clean condo on the beach

Lovely, bright, clean condo right on the beach. The pictures in the listing accurately reflect what the condo actually looks like. The a/c works well and there were no other issues with the condo. Nora and her team are especially attentive to guests' needs and she communicates/follows up well. We will definitely stay at this condo again on our next visit to Puerto Rico!

Perfect better location.

Building and complex are immaculately clean and secure. Beach is phenomenal; overall location convenient for traveling, eating, shopping, etc. Condo was nice and clean.

Marred vacation along with many inconviences

First day we arrived, we checked everything to make sure things were in good working order. Since four of us are deaf, we rely on closed captioning televisions. One of 3 tvs needed to be repaired which was fixed next day. Air conditioning is very cold and cannot be controlled. Either ac has to be turned off or you freeze. At night the condo was rather warm without ac. We had to sleep with blankets. Showering became our problem. The water came on warm then it turned cold. The hot water heater was installed in the middle of our week. We were inconvenienced with plumbers coming in and out of our condo thus dirtying the floors which we had to clean up . On Thursday, cable and Internet went out! They were finally turned back on on Saturday. Nora has tried to correct the problems but we could not enjoy our vacation. We think we should be compensated or refunded some of the money that we had paid for it. Nora even texted us saying that our vacation has been marred. We have not heard anything from her about the appropriated compensation.

Owner's Response: It was an unfortunate set of circumstances. My husband offered a credit to them for another visit but they told him they would not be back, so they were not interested in the credit. I was up there everyday with workers trying to right the problems. The first problem with the TV, I was able to fix myself. As soon as they texted me about the TV I went right up and tried to fix it. I determined it was the cable box. I went the very next morning to the cable company to have the box replaced. The morning before they arrived the hot water heater broke so we had it replaced before they arrived. Problem was, it was defective. My repair people were there everyday fixing it. The would get it working and then after they left, it broke again. I then instructed them to replace it with a different kind of new unit. Then the cable was cut by the cable company and therefore there was no service. I called the cable company. They came and said it was the wiring outside that was cut. They would have to send someone else. I insisted that it be repaired immediately, which it was. Regarding the air conditioning, the control is in the air conditioner closet. I would have had my caretaker adjust it but one of the gentlemen told me it was fine and to leave it, which i did. I did acknowledge that it was not an ideal vacation. However, none of it was neglect on my part. I am still willing to offer them a credit for another visit, because I know if they come again they will be happy, as all of my other tenants are.

Awful vacation....

The ac leaked all over the condo the very first night. I called Nora and she sent her maintenance man. He told us it was fixed, but continued to leak. I spent more time cleaning water off the floor, washing and drying towels. The condo was so HOT. Nora, finally moved us 4 days later to another condo....Never even offered anything for the inconvenience.

Owner's Response: I am sorry that this renter was so upset. They arrived on Wednesday, October 28. Called me late that night to report the air conditioner was leaking. I called my caretaker who scheduled the air conditioner repair person for the following morning (Thursday). The renters were told they did not have to wait for them as my caretaker would take care of it as well as clean up the towels and water. The repairperson cleaned it out and reported it fixed. Again that night it was leaking again. Again, I had the repair person and caretaker come the next morning (Friday). The repair person tried to find the problem but reported that it would require taking the entire unit apart, which was a big job and would make quite a mess. I called the renters that night and told them I was sorry, that I did not expect them to have to endure this and offered to move them the next morning (Saturday) to another apartment for the remainder of their trip (5 more days). My caretaker met them on Saturday and moved them to the next apartment. I received no complaints from them after the move and assumed all was well. In spite that this is a new unit, it did take my repair person two days to complete the job. I always respond immediately to any problems that my tenants inform me of. If the problem is something I can control, I arrange to have it taken care of as soon as possible. If it is out of my control (utility company or building malfunction) I communicate with the proper authority and report back to my renters what can or cannot be expected. If I have an alternative available (another apartment that is not experiencing the difficulty) I offer it to the tenant. I have offered this renter a discount on a future rental as compensation for their difficulty.

Great location

Everything was great except there was not enough toilet paper, trash bags and paper towels. I had to buy all three of these items. I'm not sure if maybe they were just a little short on these items during our stay or if this is how it is done every time. I recommend this condo but make sure they have ample quantities of these necessary items.

This apartment is in the condominium complex called Marbella del Caribe, a twin-tower hi-rise condominium located in the heart of the popular Isla Verde tourist section on beautiful Isla Verde Beach, which is the most spectacular beach in San Juan.

The complex offers 24-hour security, beach access, and beautiful, private grounds that include a swimming pool, tennis court, volleyball/basketball court, playground, picnic tables and barbecues.

Each apartment has its own assigned parking space on the premises. There is a bus stop right in front of the building and in walking distance (2 blocks) is the elegant El San Juan Hotel and Casino, as well as three other hotels/casinos. There is a vast array of restaurants from casual to formal within a few short blocks. There are several supermarkets, numerous souvenir shops, Charlie Car Rental and a Walgreens that is open 24 hours and has just about everything one could need from food, to beauty supplies, to beach gear.

2.) If the renter cancels anytime prior to the rental date or is delayed arriving for any reason (weather, illness, etc.), they are still responsible for the full rent, tax and deposit. To cover these costs, trip insurance can be purchased at, by calling 1-800-487-4722 or through another insurance company of the renter’s choice.
