A lakefront family getaway with 4 bedrooms on west side of Lake Wallenpaupack with private dock. LIving room has newer comfortable furniture and bedrooms have newer quality mattresses. Abundant living space inside with large deck that has gas grill, large dining table and relaxing chairs. There is also a sun porch, separate kitchen and laundry room on main level. A/C. Wifi. Ample parking for your cars and boat trailer on our long wooded driveway. The house is situated on a half acre lot, huge by lake-front standards, giving you a secluded feeling away from the road. Meandering wide stone steps lead down to the large fire pit by the lake where you can enjoy countless hours of fun and relaxation in the water by your own beach and dock. Bring your boat for tubing and water skiing or just fish and swim right off the large U-shaped dock. Located on a wide area in the middle of the lake near several excellent ski coves. Extra large hammock.
Newer large flat screen tv and blu-ray in living room and two smaller new flat screens in bedrooms. Ipod/MP3 stereo wireless hook-up. 5 newer window A/C units as well as ceiling fans. Kitchen stocked with all necessary equipment. Dining area table is large enough for 8. Tenants must provide own sheets and towels, but pillows and comforters are provided. Firepit by lake is excellent and wood is provided. Large U-shape dock outfitted with new lines for one boat. Swim ladder from end of dock. Owners' boat stored with mooring whips several feet to one side out of way. This house is perfect for families with children. Minimum age requirement to rent.
Finding your way around the lake area is easy. We will help you with boat rental and launch information. For fresh local produce and farm-to-table entrees Ritter's Farm Market is on Rt. 590 at the end of Goose Pond Rd. Just a mile or so from Ritter's is Trios where you can find great pizza and other Italian food. In Hamlin there is Weis Market for your major grocery stop and across the street is Kundla's for excellent take out bbq. Head northeast on Rt. 590 into Hawley and wrap around the lake to Rt. 507 to find The Boathouse for a great lunch or dinner. We have many menus and brochures at the house to help plan your stay.
We have stayed at different houses on the lake over the years. They were all nice but we wanted to find somewhere new where the fishing may be better. My son and husband caught some big catfish off the dock so it did not disappoint on that aspect at all. The description stated that it would be stocked with a variety of everyday household items. I went prepared with my things just in case. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it did indeed have so many things available for us to use: dish soap, laundry soap, trash bags, sweetener, sugar, spices, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. We previously had to take all these things with us to the houses we stayed at. The home is laid out very nicely, the A/C worked great and the view of the lake was breathtaking. Very large deck with grill and patio set and a great fire pit down by the lake with chairs to relax on. We will definitely be returning for another family vacation. It took me too long to write this review, we got back and it was back to school time and then all the various holidays. Thank you for letting my family enjoy your beautiful home.
We went with another family (4 adults and 4 kids). Plenty of room for all. Beautiful location too. Jill thought of everything down to small flashlights to help you with walking to and from the lake in the dark. We had plenty of visitors including chipmunks, raccoon and a hawk that landed on the deck while we were inside. There is a resident deer that greeted us the first day and came back around a few more times to see how we were doing. I would love to go back and rent from Jill again.
What a wonderful, clean property! The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could want. The house is large and was perfect for our friends and family. The lake access and fire pit were a must! A great property!
When planning a relaxing family getaway, this house is everything you could hope for. It was clean and spacious, updated furnishings, excellent, responsive owner to work with. We have 20 something children and we enjoyed the firepit by the lake in the evenings and swimming off the dock. The dock is large and the U shape is perfect for securing your boat. We were having coffee on the deck about 7:15 am, when the 3 Deer trickled across the yard looking at us and just moved along peacefully! It is just a beautiful location with a very active lake on the weekends. Thank you again, Jill!
This was our first lake house vacation and what a wonderful vacation it was!
Communications - Jill is just great to communicate with. She is responsive, professional, understanding, and polite. Any questions we had she immediately got back to us with a detailed answer. Reserving the house was as easy as it could be.
The Vacation - we shared the house with another family and their children and it was great. Most of our time was spent in the lake whether it was swimming or in a canoe, raft, or paddle boat we brought with us. Lots of time around the fire pit, playing cards, playing games, and of course eating. We even managed to get in a run or two - the community is great (but I will say as a treadmill runner - beware the hills :-).
The house - perfect! On the lake, comfortable, clean, and well stocked with everything you need - just bring the food and you will be fine!
We plan on going back in 2014 and every year thereafter Jill will let us :-)
We have spent a few years vacationing on the weekend at the lake. This is the first time we spent the week and at a new location! The house is nestled in a nice private wooded area on the west side of the lake. It was easy to unload (and load) through the kitchen door where the laundry area is. The living room is spacious and open. Plenty of comfortable seating inside with a great atmosphere for friend and family times. Living room is equipped with the latest electronics and a music hook up. Dining area is great for 8 people with comfortable seating. There is abundant information about the area that is provided by the owner in the manual and brochure basket. It made it helpful to plan for every single day. Boat launch is nearby and the dock is new and well cared for. Sun room is perfect for a rainy day and the deck was where we spent most of our time. The stone walkway leading down to the fire pit and dock was great going down, challenging going up- but a great workout. The neighborhood is also perfect for a 3 mile walk that goes past the marina/ launch. Any supplies that are needed are only a few miles away- be it grocery or other stores.
Everyone was impressed with the house. We made use of the gas grill, blender and kitchen accessories. Trash drop off was close and easy to use. I would highly recommend asking to pay for the cleaning services! When we arrived, everything was clean and orderly- nothing was hard to find. The owner was completely available via phone/ email during our visit and made everything easier to enjoy. We truly enjoyed our time there and will have memories to share forever about our summer vacation.

I will email you a rental agreement and ask for a copy of your driver's license to verify your age and identity. I accept personal & bank checks. I am not accepting on-line bookings at this time as it keeps both our costs down. For the 2016, I will accept 50% of total payment upfront to secure week if booked by February 29, 2016.
