This hideaway home was actually designed and built to fit the river. The house is designed to look up river and down river. The main level is not accessible from the lower level but the lower level has 2000 square feet of living area. The lower level has three bedrooms, kitchen, laundry, living room or television room and a large dining room. The largest bedroom has two queen beds, the master has it's own bathroom and a king bed. The smaller of the bedrooms also has it's own queen bed. There is a bathroom off the hall with a washer and dryer located on the opposite side of the hall. The dining room and kitchen area has a gas fired fire place and a view of the river that is just fantastic. All of the floors in the lower level are covered with travertine stone. In the living room area there is a leather sofa and recliner. In the living room there is a wide screen television with Direct TV's largest selection ready to go.
Animal Friends: Animal life is abundant in the Madison Valley with eagles year around and osprey that migrate to the north to raise their young in the summer. There are elk, moose, deer, ram horn sheep, antelope, lots of cows and small animals such as badgers, mountain goats and wolf. We had a badger that was living under our house for several years. We closed up the entrance that he had made and he has since moved on. We have two beaver dams within visual distance. Fishing is great right off the deck, along the banks of the river, in the river or from float trips that are available for recreation or advanced fly fishing trips.
This home is the perfect place to rest and read a book or go out and spend your energies doing the things you have dreamed about. During the summer when it gets a little warm you can walk out on the deck and feel the cool air from the river. If you like to fish this is a renowned location. If you like side trips you could spend years seeing all of the things within driving distance. Or if you just want io see to kick back and enjoy yourself this is the place to do it.
Note: Access to the lower level is from the main deck on the river side of the home. There is a standard stairway from the main deck that lands at the doors into the lower level. Pleas look at the pictures to see the rear deck and stairway.

We just finished this brand new home in 2010. We own this home and the one next to it VRBO Listing # 326264. If this one is booked please check the other listing for availability.
The Owner purchased this house in 2010
We were 7 adults and a kid over there for July 2015 long weekend. It's a comfortable drive from all the geysers and other great tourist destinations in Yellowstone. Best part of this house is the deck and beautiful view of the river. They made sure you don't miss the view by having a huge window facing the river.
We enjoyed the house and would surely be back there whenever we are in Yellowstone :)

The property is located 35 miles from the town of West Yellowstone which is the west entrance to the park. Is is also part of the area that is known as The Gold West Country. The town of Ennis is 35 miles to the north of the property. The Gold West area has a rich history and heritage in ranching and gold mining. The town of Virginia City Montana near Ennis was the location of a great placer gold strike. It was also the capital of Montana for a time and has a very colorful history. Today it is the Madison County seat. Virginia City and neighboring Nevada City still have somewhat of a ghost town feel.
