About Richard Woodruff

My name is Michael Roybal. i am the third generation of my family to occupy this home. Originally owned by my fathers mother and eventually in my care this house my magnificent qualities.

Richard Woodruff purchased this house in 1930

What makes this house unique

Remodeled in 1998 this house has radiant heated cherry wood floors, diamond finish old world plaster walls, private yards with high fences and a oasis of a back yard. Being on a dead end street the traffic is little and car noise non existent and yet you are a moment away from H285 and 10 minutes walking to the downtown area. A unique location in deed.

The perfect place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful house proved to be the perfect place to stay for us in Santa Fe. My husband and I went to Santa Fe to hike -- There are tons of hiking trails in multiple directions within a 20-minute drive of this house. Also, when not hiking, we prefer not to drive when on vacation, and this house is a quick walk to the Square, historic Guadalupe Street (where we took a cooking class at Santa Fe Cooking School -- we would recommend), and to the farmer's market at the Railway (10 minute or less walk to all). The house is very well equipped for cooking (thank you for all of the cooking equipment!) and the backyard (with hot tub) is a wonderful, private place to relax. It was also really nice to have a garage. We would stay here again.

Great location and amentities

  • 4 of 5

Two weeks in this casa over Christmas-New Years, and we & our dog could not be happier. Walking to the Plaza - or the Railyards - every day was so easy and convenient. The dog loved the two fenced yards - and the deliciously heated floors. The backyard hot tub, indoor jetted tub, and huge steam shower were delightful after an outing in the snow. Having a garage was wonderful with the snow. The kitchen was well-equipped for all our cooking. We found the property very clean, and the property manager went out of his way to help us when we accidentally left an item behind. Thank you!

Note that the odd layout of the only bathroom (mostly inside the master suite) might mean it's ok for parents & children, but could be awkward for say, two couples. The furniture & decor is fine, a little dated and cluttered, but certainly serviceable. Overall, a comfortable and convenient property I would happily revisit.

Convenient, great fenced yard for my dogs, has everything you need!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for sharing your wonderful home. This is our 2nd time staying staying here and we know we will return. We travel with our 2 dogs and having a safe place for them is very important. Love the heated floors and my husband loved the steam shower after being on the slopes snow boarding. Kitchen has everything you need for cooking even though we ate out. Very close to the plaza, walking distance. If you like spicy, hot food, do go to The Shed. We always visit El Meson and listen to the 3 Faces of Jazz every time we visit. Some of our favorite places to eat - Pasquale's (always great and try the "green drink", The Shed, Tomasitas (Frogg Margarita), Blue Corn (butterscotch Martini), do you see a pattern? Food is great also at these places. Just tried for the first time, Sushi Land East - very good and will make it part of our trip, & of course visit Harry's Roadhouse. Really there are so many great restaurants. Hope you have a great trip when coming to Santa Fe!

Lovely vacation casa

  • 5 of 5

Top marks for the design and upkeep on this ideally located vacation probably. The only thing that could be better than the location is the casa. We are already looking forward to enjoying it again.

Great Vacation Home !

  • 4 of 5

We stayed in Casa Candelario for a girls weekend in Santa Fe. The home was clean and well maintained. Everything we needed was provided as far as dishes, towels etc. The house is located close enough to the Plaza to walk but far enough to "get away". The hot tub and patio area were awesome ! The only issue is that the house was kind of warm in the living room and the second bedroom and it made it difficult to sleep . The air cooler was not available.
