This exquisite Wailea hideaway is in the peaceful, perfectly manicured Wailea Ekolu Villages. It is downstairs, 1100 sf (plus lanais), 2 Bedroom, 2 Bath, complete with an open lanai that fronts the lush golf course greenway and a private lanai off of each bedroom. With an exquisite south ocean view, cool ocean breezes, and no traffic noise it is one-of- a-kind. Flowered-covered trellises are typical of the manicured Ekolu landscaping. The suite offers all amenities, which include high-speed internet access, a 42' flat screen TV in the living room and private TVs in both bedrooms, cable, phone, DVD player, stereo with CD player, 2 air conditioning units, ceiling fans, private washer and dryer, all basic appliances, and nearby barbeques. The pool is just steps away. Its remodeled kitchen is gorgeous, with granite countertops, and is fully equipped with a refrigerator with purified water, ice maker, stove, dishwasher, blender, coffee maker, toaster, rice cooker, and all dishes, utensils and cookware. Towels, linens and beach towels are provided. There is a fun closet with games, gear for the beach and boogie boards, too!
The master bedroom features a king bed and there are twin beds in the second bedroom. Both bedrooms have full baths, private lanais, separate A/C, large closets, and lovely sage carpeting. Two futons are stored for sleeping extra people or for lounging. The condo can be cooled by A/C and ceiling fans, but the natural cooling of the refreshing tropical breezes wafting through the rooms is classic Maui paradise.
The condo is privately owned and cared for by Peggy, so she is able to offer attractive rates, since she does not use a rental company. In addition, she has Lisa, who lives here on-island, available to help you with your immediate needs, check-in and out, cleaning and any maintenance during your stay(cleaning can be arranged for a separate fee). The Ekolu Village has barbeque areas in a garden setting, overlooking the golf course and two pools. The building is two stories, or low rise. Parking directly fronts the unit and the paved ramp and walkway to the front door (no steps) allow easy access by wheelchair.
The fabulous Shops at Wailea, with world class stores and restaurants, are just a leisurely stroll from the condo.

Aloha and welcome. I am Peggy Dekom, the owner of the condo, and it is my pleasure to host your stay in Maui. I work very hard along with my on-island rental manager, to care for the condo so our guests can have a great time. Our goal is to have you feel that this is your island home. It is beautifully outfitted, comfortable and welcoming. We provide everything to make you feel at home, plus much that caters to Maui. There is a fun closet with several boogie boards (all sizes), games, beach coolers, umbrellas, beach towels, chairs, and toys. The kitchen is fully stocked with every item you might need, even a rice cooker! Lorraine provides starter supplies, like laundry soap, kitchen and bath soaps, and paper goods so you don't have to go out and buy all of it when you get here. She's always on call, as well, for helpful hints and any assistance you might need (the photo is actually of her). You are in good hands as she is a professional realtor on Maui, and a wonderful hostess during your stay at the condominium.
A little about me: I work in the real estate field in Southern California, where my family shares our home with 3 dogs and a parrot. We try to visit our second home on Maui about once a year, but hope that during the rest of the year, our guests have a wonderful time on Maui in our little piece of paradise.
The Owner purchased this condo in 2006
Having a condo on Maui was my dream every since my first visit to Maui many years ago. I particularly wanted our second home to be in Wailea Ekolu Village because of its low density, open spaces, & beautiful landscape --in my opinion, the nicest on Maui--and our unit's serene location next to a beautiful golf course, with a peaceful ocean view. It is truly paradise on earth to me and my family, and our guests feel the same way, as you can see if you read their comments.
Wailea Ekolu brings with it of a feeling of paradise, beauty and serenity that is hard to find anywhere else. One can rest and recharge in the soothing and quiet condo atmosphere, or go out to explore and enjoy the vast variety of activities and attractions Maui has to offer (please refer to activities listed on our website). We also keep activity brochures in the condo.
Thanks for sharing your condo with us! This was the rainiest tine I've spent here - but it didn't matter, it's 30 at home! The view was amazing and my one year old son loved the beach toys. I've had such a great time. Thank you!
We stayed for 3 months! The area is perfect. Walking distance to the Monkeypod - best MaiTai's on the island. We joined the tennis club which is about 5 minutes away by foot. Peggy (owner) and Lisa (housekeeper) were easy to work with. Condo was completely clean upon arrival. Furnished with what is very typical - and the beds very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and certainly recommend this condo. You will love the views on the golf course and it is a perfect place to have sundowners. 10 minute ride to great snorkeling. Exceptionally convenient area.
Great location within walking distance to the Shops at Wailea and south Maui beaches. The grounds are more beautiful than most resorts with numerous bougainvillea, plumeria, bird of paradise..... This very well maintained property has two pools just a short walk away.
The view from the unit is more lovely than expected. The updated kitchen is very nice with adequate cookware that gives the option of having meals at the condo. We had most breakfasts at the condo on the lanai enjoying the view of Kahoolawe, ocean, and surrounding golf course. The very spacious condo is generously stocked with a cooler, beach chairs, games and many other items to ensure a comfortable stay.
I found Peggy (owner) to be very accommodating and pleasant. The onsite manager (Lisa) is a delight and provided useful information about the island (and a wonderful chocolate gift). Thanks for allowing us to visit!
This place was one of the nicest VRBO rentals we have ever stayed in, and we use VRBO frequently. The condo was spacious and well appointed, with brand new refrigerator and dishwasher, everything needed to cook, and lovely furniture. Very comfortable king sized bed. Peggy and her partner who is on island were friendly and made booking our stay easy as well as making themselves available if we had questions. The property description, if anything, does not do justice to the size and condition of the condo. It was very clean and well maintained, and we had no problems whatsoever during our visit. My wife and I were both mystified at how anyone could give this condo a negative review.
The location at Wailea Ekolu is stunning. We took in the sunsets every night on the well manicured grass behind the condo, enjoying views of Lanai, Molokini, and Kahoolawe. We had our dog with us and he had a wonderful time taking walks in Wailea as well as on nearby beaches. By our reckoning, this place was a bargain, and we would stay again and give it our highest recommendation.
I am the person who gave this place 2.5 star rating earlier. Well, I have stayed in this place for 12 days now. As mentioned earlier, I was not too happy about the condition of this place when I arrived. However, I was contacted by owners Peggy and Michael promptly and was offered to have our place cleaned again. They were appalled at the condition of this place that I have encountered and tried very hard to do everything possible on their end to correct the issues. Thank you very much, for your quick response. For travelers seeking place to stay at I do want to mention that king bed does have nice soft mattress, new pillows and sheets. Kitchen is stocked pretty good. We've made smoothies, baked, cooked and seemed like we had just about everything that we needed. Location -Wailea is my favorite on Maui. In regards to some older staff I mentioned earlier, owners do plan on coming soon to upgrade those things. They are also looking for new cleaning crew.
The condo was exactly as pictured and represented on the site. Beautiful view and location. Quiet area and well manicured grounds. The bathrooms could be updated a bit but that isn't unusual in Maui. I'm taking off 1/2 star for the nightmare processing of my payments through VRBO. This was not the fault of VRBO, but simply an issue created by Peggy accidentally. Peggy wanted final payment 30 days in advance which was fine. Unfortunately the VRBO system had the final payment as 14 days. At 30 days I notified Peggy to send me a link so I could pay it. She did and I paid it. Then I started receiving reminders about my final payment at 14 days even though I was paid in full. I notified Peggy of this issue and assumed it was resolved. After the 14 day deadline passed I received late notifications, and an email from Peggy asking for final payment. I sent several more emails to her indicating I had confirmed full payment with dates and amounts. No response. I then was forced to contact VRBO directly to try and rectify the situation with our vacation coming up soon. While they were processing my request I received an email from Peggy apologizing about the system issue and that I was paid in full. A lot of stress and time spent that could have been avoided if Peggy would have read my emails and checked her records. The other 1/2 star is for being totally inconvenienced by a dishwasher installation during our stay. I understand these maintenance issues occur but I was told the problem had been going on for months. The condo was vacant for 8 days prior to our arrival. It should have been done then.
My first impression was 2.5 stars for this condo (equivalent to motel 6). Yes, view is nice at lanai but blinds are impossible to close-old some parts missing in bedroom. Screens on the windows, doors have cobwebs. Since I needed to pump, I felt uncomfortable at evening time as the bed is located at such an angle to the windows that there is 4 inch crack and if anyone outside was to stare you would be the center of attention. Kitchen remodeled but cabinet door knobs need some good scrubbing as fat deposit has built up there for a while. Whoever is cleaning this place is not doing this place justice. Dust everywhere. Feels like this condo has not been rented for a while. TVs in the bedrooms ancient;living room has flat screen monitor. I would look for another condo to rent. #1407 is same price but inside is looking much better that's where our friends stayed. Air conditioner units in bedrooms pretty loud. The location and view are good but everything else needs attention of the owner. The owner did leave the box of candies welcoming as in which is a nice gesture but there has to be more attention to details. When we arrived it was really hot inside the condo. We turned both A/C units in bedrooms and left to the beach so it would be possible to sleep at night. I thought that was odd as I was told that someone just left this place earlier today. Wouldn't it be common sense that next guest would prefer the room to be on the cooler side when they arrive?????!!!!! Beach toys are nice amenities to have but whoever keeps an eye on this place needs to discard old worn ones and replace them with new ones as I was disgusted to touch them.
5 white-sand beaches within 3 minute drive, Whale-watching (Nov-April), major Aquarium, helicopter rides, hang-gliding, nearby gyms, concerts, fairs. Maui is reknown for its world premiere golf courses. Tennis courts are across the street at the Wailea Tennis Club. The fabulous Shops at Wailea, with world class stores and restaurants, are within a leisurely stroll of the condo.
