A lovely stay in this well equipped apartment in a good location to the palace at Versailles. It is walkable if you're adults but as we had small children we found the distance was just too far for them. However, it was GREAT to be able to park in a gated community as parking in Versailles is something of a challenge!
We didn't find the train line at the back (it REALLY IS CLOSE) a problem though. The trains are so quiet in France and they don't honk their horns. Trains seemed to cease after 11pm so it wouldn't put me off recommending it.
There was plenty of hot water and the shower was nice, although it IS handheld. For the 4 nights we stayed it was do-able but note to owner would be to put a simple attachment on the wall to mount the shower head. Would get more custom I think.
We paid €140 security deposit in cash when we arrived and arranged with the owner that this would be returned when we left. We were moving on to the Loire and needed to use the money for our next security deposit. I telephoned the owner on the day of departure to ask when he would be arriving and we agreed a time. He then called again and said the traffic was terrible and we should just go rather than wait the hour he was anticipating it would take for him to arrive. I said we would wait (we were in no hurry) and did not want the deposit "sending on to us" as he offered. I held firm and told him we would await his arrival. He arrived only 20 mins later, the traffic having dissipated it would seem.
There is plenty of storage space in the apartment, tons of coathangers, iron etc. The main bed was reasonably comfortable, although it does seen to slope towards the window.
All in all - spacious, good equipment, parking, very secure despite being ground floor (more bolts than Fort Knox, security codes and keys!).
appartement bien entretenue,tres propre, residence securisée coté négatif : literie peu confortable MAIS SURTOUT NUISANCES SONORES trés importantes malgré double vitrage, dues aux lignes SNCF (montparnasse, rive gauche) à moins de 10 mètres environ de l'appartement. Calme uniquement entre 2h et 5 heures du matin !!!!! nuit difficile malgré achat "boules oreilles anti bruit)
