Tom has lived in the southern Adirondack area his whole life and Loretta grew up on Long Island. Despite our different backgrounds, we both share a love of the outdoors and nature.
This property has been in Tom's family for many, many years. It has been completely renovated. Our goal is to provide a memorable getaway for all of our guests. We are very attentive to special requests and provide a 'Welcome Book' that is full of information on 'things to do' in the area. We are meticulous when it comes to the cleanliness of the cabin and we believe there is everything there that our guests would expect for a stay.
The property gets plenty of sunshine throughout the day. The property has lake rights and access is very close. We offer kayaks, bicycles, snowshoes, hammock, fire pit and we supply the wood! No additional costs for these amenities. There are many bears inside the cabin. One of our previous guests even left us count of every bear in every room!
I recently stayed at Tom and Loretta's cabin and what a great spot it is. They keep it spotless, warm and cozy. It is located in a very quiet, peaceful area and just a short walk from a beautiful lake(which we took advantage of using the kayaks that they provide which was a big plus). Was such a wonderful escape from the city, when it came time to check out we did not want to leave. Would love to come back and stay again sometime.
This cabin was perfect for our fall getaway. We were greeted with a personalized welcome sign and a bottle of wine! It was very clean and nicely decorated. The lake is just a short walk from the cabin and has great views of the changing leaves. The cabin was nice and private, and the neighbors and people in the town were very friendly when we walked around. The kitchen was well equipped and the bed was comfortable.
My wife and I stayed only for two nights over Labor Day weekend. To take full advantage of this area I would recommend 3-4 nights stay. We ate breakfast up in Speculator, at the Timberline Cafe & Bakery - good food for a reasonable price. Used the bikes and road around the lake. After driving around the area a bit we didn't have time to to take advantage of the kayaks available for use. We were able to spend a nice time relaxing in this cabin, very comfortable and quiet.
My wife, 4 year old son, and I took our first family vacation and had a wonderful time. Very peaceful. Tom and Loretta provide just about everything you will need for your stay including games, kayaks, and Bikes to enjoy the surrounding area. Would highly recommend for people looking to escape and relax.
Everything you could want imagine! We did not want to leave. Beautiful Cabin.
Celebrating our wedding anniversary we arrived to find a welcome sign, card and bottle of wine from Tim and Loretta. The cabin is beautiful with all you could need and more. Thank you again for the pleasure of enjoying your quiet place. We will definitely be returning in the future.
