Deep Neck Point is a very private luxury waterfront retreat able to comfortably accommodate up to 20 guests. Located on a private 60 acre peninsula that reaches out into a mile-wide stretch of Broad Creek, the 8,000 square foot house and detached 800 square foot garage apartment is surrounded by 270 ° of water. The property, which was built in 2003, features a large in-ground pool, a 150 foot dock with 4 ft mlw, a new tennis court, a 200 foot zip line over a marsh, a game room, a ping pong table and a small kids playground.

Moreover, the property is located on a secluded 60 acre parcel that is ideal for nature hikes, sports, hunting (in season), and fishing. Guests may dock their own boat at our dock, or may arrange for local fishing guides to pick them up to take advantage of the rich fishing options of the Chesapeake Bay.

This house is perfect for family retreats. We designed it such that there is no reason to leave, but if you do, there is tons to do.

Description of House: The house was custom built in 2003 by a renowned local builder and the interior was designed by an accomplished interior designer. Much of the furniture was sourced from local antique stores and auctions.

The home sits on a manicured 5 acre lot with plenty of room to play football, lacrosse, baseball and other activities. A full sized basketball court with two 10' adjustable hoops sits adjacent to the house and serves as an overflow parking area. In the back yard, which overlooks the water, a 200 foot zip-line runs over a waterfront marsh, adjacent to a large fire pit that is surrounded by 10 adiorondack chairs and tables. The fire pit is perfect for making s'mores or just relaxing and watching the sun set off the edge of the property.

A new full sized fenced in tennis court sits within 200 feet of the house, and a large fenced-in pool (not heated -- available only in summer) with pool house, ping pong table and hammock are perfect for the summer months.

Just 20 minutes from the house is Easton, MD, the county seat. Easton features top notch art galleries and more 5 star restaurants.

And all guests are encouraged to borrow our bikes to take the 6 mile ride to the Oxford-Belleview Ferry. Established in 1683, it is the oldest continually operating ferry in North America. Today it takes cars and bikes on a 10 minute ride across the Tred Avon river from Belleview, MD to Oxford, MD and back. In Oxford you will find more great restaurants and shops along with world-class sailing.

About Owner

I grew up in Louisiana and moved to DC after attending college in North Carolina. My wife and I built this home in 2003. We spend as much time as we can here, but rent it when it is not being used.

Our property is professionally maintained by a team that includes our caretaker, our cleaning crew and our lawn and landscape crew. They are very meticulous, and every detail is attended to.

Owner purchased this estate in 2003

Why Owner chose Chesapeake Bay

My wife and I come from large families and we use this home as a getaway, family gathering spot and beautiful place to just relax. We live in a busy metro area, and life here can be extremely hectic and packed, but once we cross the Bay Bridge and enter the Eastern Shore, the stress seems to slip away and we can truly relax.

Between my wife's and my parents, there are 9 children and 30 grandchildren. We have 3-4 family get togethers here each year, and we spend most of the summers here with our kids. The kids enjoy roaming our 50 acre property, fishing and crabbing on the dock, riding the zip line, playing tennis or basketball, biking, etc. The property is extremely private. The property is the last house on a peninsula that sticks out into the Bay, which provides us with isolation from (literally) everything and everyone else.

We designed the house, and hired a local builder to construct it. It took three guys two years to build the house, but the quality of the construction is top notch.

What makes this estate unique

We are surrounded by 270 degree of water -- 3 sides. We overlook a very wide body of water, and we are on a large farm, so there are no other homes visible to us. You have the entire area to yourself.

One of my favorite features is the 'crows nest' on top of the house. You have to climb a ladder to get there, but its really wonderful to have a 360 degree view of the surrounding water and farms.

The tennis and basketball courts are also favorites! Runners have a 3 mile jog down to the end of our road and back, or 10 miles if you are feeling ambitious and want to run to the Oxford-Belleview Ferry and back.

Perfect Property

  • 5 of 5

Our family had an A+ experience at this property-- we will be talking about it for years to come. The owner was responsive to questions prior to check-in, and always courteous. The house is just amazing. As you pull up the long tree-lined driveway you are immediately in awe of the picturesque house and surroundings. Our family of 18 was comfortable in the house, its spacious and cozy all at the same time. The kitchen, linen closet etc.. are outfitted with everything a large group would need. The two kitchens have 2 fridges, 2 dishwashers and more than enough plates/glasses/pots/pans etc.. All of the beds are comfortable and the rooms are a good size. We had 2 little ones and they were always able to nap without interruption. Now for the outdoors -- its a private paradise! Pool, dock (with crabbing cages and kayaks!), zipline, fire pit, basketball, tennis... all in a private and relaxing setting. We grilled in the evening and enjoyed the patio area... followed by smores by the firepit. You cannot ask for more! Our only regret is not staying longer!

Our best family vacation yet!

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a large vacation home on the water with a dock and a pool. We were pleased when we found this fabulous house which looked like it would meet our needs. The house certainly did not disappoint. Since it was such a hot week, we never got the chance to enjoy the tennis courts or much basketball but we a practically lived in the pool! The evening sunsets on the back porch and enjoying sitting around the firepit making s'mores were the perfect endings to our summer days. We would love to come visit again next summer! The owner and the caretaker were so helpful in addressing any needs that we had.we made some great memories here!

Vacation of a lifetime!

  • 5 of 5

This was one of the nicest vacations my family has ever been on. This property is second to none. My siblings and I celebrated my mother's 70th Birthday with a surprise stay at Deep Neck Point! The property is stunning, very spacious and well maintained. The host family is incredibly friendly and easy to work with. If you're looking for a memorable vacation of a lifetime, I would highly recommend this property!

Shoreline on 3 sides of property, everything you need

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful mansion has views of the water on three sides of the property so there are relaxing views from every window in the house. There's plenty of kitchen room and all of the equipment for some serious cooking. The interiors are spacious and well furnished but not fussy. We were there with 16 adults and 5 babies and it was perfect for us. In the day time we hiked, cooked and hung out in the large living areas. In the evenings we lit a fire in the pit and sat by the water. This is the 13th year my friends have had a reunion and everyone said this was the best house yet.

The trip from the Baltimore airport is about 2 hours so make sure to factor in enough time. It's definitely remote but that's part of what makes it so special. A real escape.

Thanks to the owner for his excellent communication and checking in, despite some HomeAway technical difficulties which were not in his control. I felt very welcome in his home. The caretaker was also very kind and helpful.

What a wonderful property!

  • 5 of 5

We visited with multiple families and everyone of every age had a fantastic time! We were there in winter and so we did not use the pool, but we took advantage of all other amenities - basketball, tennis, bike riding, fire pit, zip line, games in the house - the list goes on and on. The kitchen and the rest of the house were extremely well equipped. The house was large enough so that we all had plenty of room for sleeping or getting peace and quiet. I would highly recommend this house for large and small groups - a wonderful experience!

Best Vacaion House Ever Rented

  • 5 of 5

This house and property truly has it all. Completely private with magnificent views, in a perfect location very close to the great town of St. Michaels. Beautifully furnished, comfortable and spacious house boasting every amenity you could want. The pool is large, the tennis court is in great shape and you can bike and run for miles on country roads. Could easily accommodate 20 people without ever feeling crowded. Well maintained by an attentive owner. The search is over for the best place to vacation on the eastern shore! We will be back :-).
