Imagine - In the warmth of the Mediterranean sun you are pulling into the quite road that you know your holiday apartment is on and you see a white 'mesonette' with blue shutters, there is a shady olive tree in the garden with table and chairs nested underneath sheltering from the sun.Through the front door you find your sitting room with a sofa that pulls out into two single beds. The well equipped kitchen is separated by a breakfast bar. Up the wooden stairs is the bedroom with a comfortable double bed and fresh towels. Here you have a choice of sitting on the balcony that has a sea view where you can see the little island nestling in the crystal clear waters of the sandy bay. Or relax on north facing balcony with the orange tree in front which allows you glimpse of the large shared pool. Around the pool are sunbeds for your use & by the pool is a small cafe & snack bar. A two minute leisurely stroll will find you on the well maintain sandy beach with sparkling blue waters. Perfect.
Whats available on the beaches.: If you take a stroll down to the beach you will find golden sand. Although there is everything you need Tolo still feels unspoilt.
There are pedal boats for hire at one point on the beach. A little further on you will find Costas who has a banana behind a speed boat, and huge rubber rings for hire. There are pleasure boats, glass bottomed boats, snorkeling, water skiing, wake boarding. Ideal for children (Big and small!)
There are also a variety of small tavernas right on the beach.
But mostly the beach feel just unspoilt with fishing boat bobbing in the bay.
The nearby town of Nauplion offers chic shopping and interesting narrow road to get lost in before you find you way out onto the sea front cafe bars and Captain Aris will charter you his yacht on the water front. (He may even tell you the time he was kidnapped by pirates and show you his medal of honour and the bullet scars that remain on the mast.) There is a castle to on the hill and an island fort in the bay to explore.
Nightlife.: There are some bars and a club in Tolon and a very pleasant night can be spent wandering around sampling bars. But if you are wanting something more than that then Nauplion and nearby Nea Kios is renowned for its night life. Bars galore along the water front in Nauplion and Bouzouki bars and night clubs, some of the best in Greece, along the beach front towards Nea Kios. Experience life nife 'Greek style'. You will not get 'home' until the morning.
Sightseeing.: There are many and varied things to see and places to visit. Some close at hand some for a day trip. Everything from cruise boats which can take you to the islands of Spetses and Hydra for the day trip, to a visit to underground beehive tombs on the mainland. Highlight included the ancient theater of Epidavros, the ancient ruins of Mycenae, the colossal Cyclopian walls of Tirins, the pyramid of Elinkio, a church build over water in front of caves, monasteries, wine tasting. Further afield that are watermarks, a rack and pinion railway up a mountain, a deserted walled village, The Rio Anderio - the largest bridge of it's type in the world. So much to discover.

Tolo is a great base for exploring the area, and this collection of holiday apartments in random assortment around the central pool is a great place to stay whilst doing so. We were warmly welcomed and immediately felt relaxed and at home. The accommodation was straightforward, clean and as-described, and during our stay we were well looked after. You can get snacks and cold beer by the poolside, and the pool was big enough to entertain our teens. No evening restaurant but Tolo has dozens just a minute's walk away. Kitchen facilities are simple but adequate - enough to cook a splendid fish dinner on our penultimate night, the fish having been tracked down by the proprietor's son.
Holiday highlights were Mycenae and seeing a greek play in the theatre at Epidaurus. Oh - and the island cruise. And Corinth ... and ... there is so much to do within easy travelling distance of Tolo.
We loved it and will happily recommend both Tolo an Kleoni to our friends.
Tolo is a charming holiday destination thanks to the beautiful scenery and the crystal clear waters. Originally a traditional Greek fishing village, it now offers a good choice of tavernas, Greek cafes, shops and night life, but still retains its character and is left unspoilt by tourism. The split level appartment is located on a quite lane just 200 from the beach, and will suit those who want a truly relaxing carefree holiday. Although a car will be useful for sightseeing, there is everything you'll need a short walk away, so there's no need to drive anywhere. There are attractions in the surrounding area if you choose a day out. The nearby town of Nafplio is very popular, with shops and cafes in the elegant Old Town.
There are many famous sites in the area, including Mycenae, Tiryns, Ancient Epidavros.
There is also a daily roundtrip boat cruise to the nearby islands of Poros, Hydra and Spetsus.
