Welcome to our home in the Mad River Valley!
Fantastically private and spacious duplex home just off the Sugarbush Access Road. 16.6 miles (27 min) to Northfield, 2.5 miles (5 min) to Sugarbush Lincoln Peak, 4.5 miles (8 min) Sugarbush Mt Ellen, 7.8 miles (13 min) to Mad River Glen.
45 minutes to Stowe and Burlington.
3 Bedrooms on upper level, living/dining and kitchen on ground level, 2 full baths on each floor, deck with views, newly renovated throughout with well stocked kitchen.
Soothing sounds of the babbling Clay Brook and the Green Mountain National Forest surround you. A relaxing respite for golf, leaf peeping and winter sports!
It is a very rustic bare bones property - I was expecting something nicer given the price. Nothing has been updated in decades and there was a hole in the wall on the stairs. The unit is advertised as sleeping 8 which is only the case if 2 people sleep in the bottom bunk in the very small bedroom upstairs (I cannot imagine 2 adults doing so) and one person sleeps on the couch (not a pull out couch) in the living room. There are only 5 usable dining room chairs.
Clearly the unit had not been thoroughly cleaned before we arrived. There was trash in the trash can in the upstairs bathroom and there were dead flies throughout. There were no matches in the unity in case of power outage. There were no trash bags of any use for 4 days of garbage - just very small breakable bags. There were 3 rolls of toilet paper for 6 people/4 days. I am pretty astonished that for $500 a night paper products are not provided. Furthermore, in the shower upstairs there was only the remnants of a used bar of soap. We are astonished that the owner did not provide a single fresh bar of soap.
There is no lighting between the entrance (which is on the back side) and the car park. It is very narrow and quite a distance up hill and given how dark it gets so early and how incredibly slippery the steps are and how icy the parking area is, it is incredibly dangerous that there is no motion light for people. We were there during a snow storm and the road had not been sanded and was impossible to get up.
We had a great New Year's Eve weekend skiing Sugarbush and staying at the Grand Hollow Road condo. It is well-priced, cozy and just a couple of minutes' drive from the slopes. Well-stocked kitchen and free Netflix!
Had a great 3 night stay in this private condo just off the Sugarbush access road. Slept 7 adults in beds and 1 on air mattress. Driveway up to house and the stairs to the unit can be difficult with weather. Kitchen was furnished with everything we needed to cook each night. Highly recommend buying food before coming, as there are not many grocery stores nearby. Deck that faces off towards river has nice view.
We had a great time staying in this condo for 2 nights! We skied at sugarbush and absolutely loved how close it was to the mountain! It was very comfortable and was the perfect size for our group. My subaru had no problem getting up the road to the house but one of our friends with 2 wheel drive had a little trouble. Great for the price, I would definitely recommend to a friend!
We stayed for 4 nights over New Year. The house is very pleasant and it was perfect for us to use as a base to go boarding from. The owners left us access to their Netflix account which turned out to be great for the injured skier in the party. It's not the most salubrious of accommodations but it did the job perfectly.
It was clean enough but not 'hotel' clean and tidy when we arrived. The bedroom layout was as described with three double beds and a single bunk above one of the doubles. The hot water ran out after 2 or 3 showers, which motivated is to get up in the morning before the others.
The drive to the property is quite long and it is rough. It's not a place to bring you corvette. On the other hand, who takes a corvette skiing in Vermont?
I'd stay here again if I was going back to Sugarbush.
We loved this wonderful little house! It was so close to Sugarbush resort, which allowed us to go "home" to eat lunch and then head back without spending a ton of money on food. We were so pleasantly surprised to be welcomed with a nice package of wine, snacks, and extra surprises for my 7 year old niece. It was a great touch! We also loved that Alen bought a rice cooker for us when he found out that we wanted one. Our only suggestion was that the owner depends on the previous renters to clean the dishes. We found the dishes greasy and the dish towels were soiled. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend this place to others.
Fantastically private duplex townhome, one turn off the Sugarbush Access Road. Lincoln Peak at Sugarbush Resort is less than 2.5 miles (5 minutes), Mt. Ellen (Sugarbush South Peak) is 7 miles (15 minutes) and Mad River Glenn is 7.8 miles (13 minutes).
Spacious 2 floors, 2 bathrooms, deck, newly renovated and furnished. A comfortable place for families and groups who enjoy skiing, snowboarding, dining, shopping, and relaxation!
Kitchen is provisioned with cookware and utensils if you're looking to hunker down. We can recommend a number of great restaurants in the Mad River Valley, if going out is more your style.
Linens, towels and bedding are provided and a full size washer and dryer is on site. There is also a Pack and Play and baby gate to keep the little ones safe.
