Everything was here that we needed during our stay. We loved the desert setting.
Loved Carella and her prompt responses to any questions and needs. Golfed, hiked, and enjoyed the Tucson sights.
We would definitely stay here again.
Lovely accomodations. Gracious host.
We just returned from our trip and I must say that the casita (house) was more than adequate - plenty of room and space for us two. The back patio was our favorite place early morning and evenings where we could watch the myriad of birds, including, but not limited to: quail, hummingbirds, hawks, finches, sparrows, cardinals, verdins, doves, thrashers, wrens.
Our hostess, Carella, was very attentive to any of our needs and yet gave us our space as well. Book with confidence.
Wonderful retreat in a beautiful desert setting
My husband and I spent the month of March in this beautiful casita with gorgeous mountain and desert views. It is relaxing, quiet and so comfortable. The location is great, with a large grocery store within minutes and great restaurants no more than 20 minutes away. The nearby Desert Museum is a must see as is the Air and Space Museum. Saguaro National Park is great for hiking. My husband is a biker and Tucson Loop access is 5 minutes away. The Loop in this area is also a great walking path along the Santa Cruz River. Almost all of the birds we saw at the Desert Museum were right in our backyard. The east exposure of the casita's patio is wonderful in the morning sun and provides great shade for relaxing in the afternoon as you watch the mountains turn pink. The western exposure of the front of the casita is serene with a small fountain. The bed is very comfortable, the kitchen has all the equipment you might need. Carella is a wonderful hostess, answering any questions you might have about the area. I highly recommend this casita.
Very well-appointed, clean casita in a great location.
My brother and I had a great week staying at Carella's casita. The place is well-appointed with everything one would need, including extras like water bottles and a cooler. We even took advantage of the DVD collection and library on our nights in. Carella is attentive, communicative and makes sure that you have everything you need. The back patio is great for morning sun and watching the hummingbirds as well as an evening fire. It was too cold to use the unheated pool during our February stay unfortunately, but we did enjoy some afternoon sun sitting next to it. Note that the pool is shared between the casita and the main house. Also, if you're not a fan of little dogs, this might not be the neighborhood for you as we heard a handful during our stay, including little Maisie at the main house-- she's cute, but she'll let you know that she's around. ;) Carella is very attentive to her barking though. All in all, I'd recommend the property. Thanks Carella for a great stay!
Perfect Place for R & R
My husband and I spent three weeks in Tucson. It is the longest vacation we have ever taken and we felt right at home in this lovely setting. The house was beautifully appointed, and the owner thought of everything from coffee grinder and slow cooker to hiking sticks and sun hats. The bird feeders in the backyard attracted all kinds of beautiful birds and wildlife as did the zen garden in front. Even the orange trees , although sour, were the perfect addition to ice tea. The entertainment center was far reaching (Netflix, Amazon), as was the video library. It was the perfect place for us to soak up some sun, relax and escape a very cold and rainy Seattle winter.
Absolutely beautiful casita in the desert
Carella's property is one of the most comfortable houses we have ever rented. It is perfect for one or two couples. It is very private and quiet with all of the amenities one could wish for. The desert is all around -- beautifully landscaped. There are bird feeders in the back yard, and the bird life is amazing. It is well situated for visits to Saguaro NP, and the wonderful Sweetwater Wetlands are only about 5 mi away if you are interested in more amazing birding. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
This northwest, Tucson home is tastefully appointed to make a comfortable and cozy vacation home. With a short drive down an unpaved road (100 yards) the casita is encompassed in an oasis surrounded by nature. See sightings of cottontail rabbits, Gambel’s quails and an assortment of lizards, hummingbirds, and squirrels. Catch glimpses of javelina, coyotes or jackrabbits that might visit the neighborhood. Surrounded by fabulous mountain views which add to stunning sunsets and sunrises.
