Guestbook comments from the owner

We needed a comfortable place to stay after long days in the field. The house is amazing with respect to the detail. Everything is perfect. It is well stocked with everything you need for an extended stay and Carella will assist you if there is anything you need. The comfortable beds! Brilliant after a long days work in the desert. We also enjoyed the backyard where we saw families of quail, javelina (marking their territory on the bird feeder), jackrabbits, scorpions, and families of cactus wrens! In summary Carella makes this an easy place to have a vacation, or in our case, a research trip. The best field “Station” ever!

Couldn't have been happier when we invite friend to join us.

  • 5 of 5

Early morning coffee found us on the veranda watching for hummers. We usually left for a full day of exploring ( recommend: Desert Museum and Sabino Canyon). Each evening we cooked delicious meals on the grill, watching the sun set.

Both inside the cassita is perfectly decorated and has everything you need, and the outside sits on a landscape of barrels, and chollas, saguaros, hedgehogs--the complete desert experience. It is clean, comfortable, welcoming, and well-designed for quiet time alone and joining together.

Peaceful and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Carella has a beautiful home that is welcoming and relaxing. The garden is an amazing expression of the surrounding desert, and the pool provides refreshment from the heat. We enjoyed our stay in Tucson wishing we had stayed for a few more days.

We did not want to go home....

  • 5 of 5

If we could give more stars than 5, we would. We stayed in the casita for nearly 4 weeks and from the first day it felt like home. All the details that Carella thought of, the wonderful decorations, all the kitchen utensils (we used the containers and cool bag for our daily picnics), it showed us that Carella cares! And thank you for that and everything else Carella! We really enjoyed all the nice talks we had with you, it felt like we were staying with a dear friend.

Having 4 weeks in the Tucson area was not enough for us. Every day, we got up at the crack of dawn, enjoyed a coffee on the patio and just loved watching our house Arizona Chickens in the garden. You call them Gambel's Quails, we call them Arizona chickens. :-) And of course the 2 bunnies, doves and hummingbirds. So thoughtfull of Carella to provide more birdfood!

And then, one of our last evenings, we finally had a javelina in the garden, he was hurt unfortunately, but he stayed watching us for a long time.

We enjoyed many parks in the area, Oracle SP, Picacho Peak SP, Catalina SP, Saguaro NP, both West and East, did guided walks there, including sunset-moonlight walk, it was amazing.

Other things worthwile: Downtown Food Tour, Mount Lemmon, Kitt Peak, Lost Dutchman SP, Usery Mountain, Tonto NM, Tumacácori SP, Tubac Hist. SP, Box Canyon, a guided horse ride, Arsarco Mineral Mines and many, many hikes.

We will miss "living" here very much and hope to be able to come back next year. This casita is soooooo comfortable and nice! Oh, we did not try the tv so cannot comment on that. Internet worked very well!

Thank you for everything Carella!!!!

Great stay in Tucson

  • 5 of 5

Difficult to describe an almost perfect rental, but without nit picking, our stay at this casita came very close to being that rental. It was perfect for two and would be comfortable for four. Communication with Carella was both easy and prompt. The casita was extremely clean and the kitchen was well equipped. Bed large and comfortable. Living area was small but very comfortable and with Netflix, no lack of evening entertainment.

We loved the location. While convenient to Tucson and surrounding area, it was quiet and you felt removed from the hustle of urban living. The patio was nice; one looked out at a desert landscape. We observed a lot of different bird species and had the opportunity to watch a bobcat and her kitten move around the area. Due to time of year we were unable to take advantage of the pool, but it looked inviting and was convenient to the casita. On return to Tucson, we would look no further for our rental.

Would stay here again!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at Carella's Casita. The house is light and airy, beautifully decorated and everything we needed was provided. Although the property is located next to Carella's home it was very private. The back yard is lovely and very peaceful. We enjoyed watching birds and looking at the Catalina Mountains. We had no problem getting around Tucson as the highway is easily accessible. The Loop trail is close by and great for walking, jogging or biking. We would definitely stay here again!
