Patricia & Christopher purchased this house in 2004
This area remains a rare and unspoiled retreat from our hectic lives. The area boasts pristine lake waters and beautiful mountain vistas. Activities abound all year long from beaching to foliage watching to skiing and so much more.
We came to this area for skiing and fell in love with the summers, with all the lakes and mountains have to offer. Lake Kezar, Lake Pleasant and Lake Sunapee are amazing boating and fishing areas! The hiking and trail running are great, especially Mt. Kearsage. The skiing at Sunapee is outstanding and each summer is enchanting!
My family of four and my cousin's family of five rented this home for a weekend in January. Before we arrived at the house, Chris was extremely helpful, providing detailed check in information with suggestions for shopping and eating in the local area. When we arrived to the house, we fell in love with interior decor:true craftsman style with custom kitchen cabinets, stone fireplace, antiques and furniture and artwork. At night we played board games in the comfortable living room in front of the fire with great views of the outdoors. Our kids enjoyed the ping pong table and personal space on the top floor. The kitchen was well equipped, making cooking a pleasure instead of a chore. In addition, the beds were comfortable, and bathrooms were all updated. The drive to Mt. Sunapee was 16 minutes. We will rent again for its location and more so, for the comfortable home that brought our family much enjoyment.
This was our second summer at this house. We love the home, especially the front porch, the yard and the huge play space upstairs. The location is amazing. We walked to the store for breakfast and treats every morning and to the lake every day for swimming and paddling. Honestly did not need or want to do much else while we were there. Our kids love the playground across from the store too.
We spent two great nights at this cottage and it exceeded our expectations. The home was beautiful, had plenty of space and was perfectly located minutes to a peaceful lake. With our three young families and 4 small children, having all the toys, games, boats, etc was a blessing for the grownups! Chris was easy and responsive and we will definitely be visiting again!
This house was amazing! I wish we could have stayed longer. The kayaks and bikes in the shed were an added bonus. Although we had read that those would be there for us to use, we didn't realize just how much fun we would have using them! Kezar lake is a short walk from the house and was so nice to walk to.
This house is definitely family friendly and we would love to visit again next year. Maybe stay longer next time so we have more time to explore. Thanks to Chris for his hospitality during our stay.
Our extended family of eight enjoyed this lovely cottage. Plenty of room for hanging out and entertaining - front porch with a tree view, screened porch with dining table, dining room, huge living room, and enormous attic play room. We loved the gas fireplace on a cold June evening! The kitchen was well-equipped and very clean. The owners did a wonderful job maintaining and respecting the original cottage while updating it. They were a pleasure to work with. The location is great - easy access to New London and I-89, shirt walk to Kezar Lake and the country store. And oh so quiet! We highly recommend it, and hope to return some day.
This home was the perfect blend of charm & modern updates. Plenty of room
Indoors & out to relax & entertain & close to water if you want to drop in a boat or pwc nearby. The house is spacious with large rooms for adults and kids to have their own areas if desired as upstairs has a ping pong table & great "hang out" area for older kids (stairs might be too steep for little ones without an adult to hang on to , ideal for older kids . 2 bedrooms & bath on first floor in addition to bedroom plus sleeping area on second floor accommodates many visitors . It's even nicer in person than on the pics & the owners were very accommodating & easy to communicate with .charming open air & screened in porches as well . Garage at every to driveway is perfect spot to park boat trailer and keep driveway clear for cars. Only downside is no wifi but hey it's vacation so why not unplug ?
Get out and enjoy the great out doors by the pristine Kezar Lake near by. Five minutes to New London, easy access to Rt. 89, and 15 minutes to Sunapee. Walk to the Vernondale's general store and cafe to step back in time and enjoy old time prices and every thing you need. Enjoy coffee to ice cream while listening to the antique radio and sitting by the fire.
When you arrive back to the house it will feel like 'home'.
