Lovely Family Getaway
Our family had an absolutely wonderful extended weekend getaway at Anne's house. The house was perfect for our needs and was able to accommodate 5 adults, 2 kids, and 3 dogs! Anne was a great host and made us all feel welcome.
Thank you Anne!
Wonderful and perfect
This was our first stay at Anne's and will not be our last. Her house was perfect: the exact space and feeling of cottage charm we were looking for to have a family vacation! Our two adult children, granddaughter, friends and family filtered in throughout the week. All loved it's atmosphere and amenities. So much was provided and the beach was perfect. Many hours were spent in the sand and on the deck. Perfect sunsets and hearing the waves was beautiful. A great storm passed through one night and was awesome!
Anne is wonderful and helpful. Recommend for all. Even our dog became enchanted and had a vacation vibe the entire week. A rarity for a Jack Russell mix! Thanks, Anne
The House, The Beach, The View!
What a wonderful place to spend a vacation! My family (6 adults and one dog) recently spent a week at this beautiful cottage on Lake Michigan. We also had friends from Chicago, a family with two grade-school aged kids, come visit us for a day to go to the beach. We've been visiting southwest Michigan for about 15 years now, and although we had never stayed in Michiana, we will certainly be back. Hopefully to this house, because it has so much to offer. First, it is bigger than it looks - with four bedrooms and two baths everyone had their own space. There were also two common living areas - the front living room and the back family room/porch - plus a huge dining room, well-appointed kitchen, and the front deck, where we spent most of our time. Yes, the deck overlooks Lake Michigan. Morning, afternoon, and sunset it was our favorite place to be. There are lake views available from multiple rooms inside the beautifully decorated house, too.
Michiana is a beautiful place. The beach is clean and uncrowded, although there are small rocks at the shoreline so be sure to bring beach shoes. We were happy to walk with our dog or ride the bikes (3 were provided) along Lake Shore Drive, which stretches for miles along the shore with a view of the lake. Our friends' kids loved the beach, and their parents loved how small and safe it was. Dogs are allowed on the beach before 11 a.m. and after 5 p.m., which was a treat as most local beaches do not allow dogs. The owners also provided use of a 2-person kayak, which was great fun. We also took several short trips to New Buffalo, Michigan City, and Sawyer to shop and dine out.
I can't say enough about how pleasant it was to work with the owner. Anne made it easy to book, answered all of our questions about the house quickly, and was there to greet us on our arrival. She was so friendly and was just a lovely person.
If you are looking for a place to spend some time getting away from it all, I must recommend this house. I wish we were headed back again next week!
Wonderful Family Place
We just arrived home from our stay here and what a great time we had. The house was clean, spacious and well equipped for the six adults and one dog we had in our group. Lots of room to spread out and really enjoy the house. It was just as described and as in the pictures. Anne was great to deal with and very responsive. We hope to be able to get a group of friends together to possibly make the trip here again next year. We would certainly stay again!
Great Lakeside Home
My family stayed for a week, and loved it. So nice to just walk to the beach, whenever you like. Beautiful view, nice accommodations, with just about anything you need. Owners were very easy to deal with...they were great hosts. New Buffalo and Michigan City, near by, with shops and restaurants....parks with trails to walk and dunes to climb, or just sit out on the deck, and take in the awesome view, especially the sunsets.
What a great place to stay right on the lake. The home is perfect, owner, Ann couldn't be more gracious and helpful. We would return in a minute if we find ourselves back in the area.
