This little gem has an exceptional view of Paris. Enjoy this modern 2 design rooms, located in a very quiet and typical street of old Paris, at the foot of the ballistic Saint Pierre de Montmartre. You will find comfort and all the equipment you'll need to live a pleasant stay.
You will be 2 minutes walk from the Place du Tertre and Sacred Heart while being in a quiet street.
Antwerp metro stations take you 10 minutes to Champs Elysees and 15 minutes to the Chatelet or Opera.
We were met as planned at the apartment. Its a long walk up but then we knew that. The greeter was friendly and helpful. The rooms were well fitted and well decorated and the bed was comfortable. The Wi-Fi worked well as did the TV. The area is interesting with the church itself, small shops and great restaurants. The large Chinese supermarket nearby tried to rip me off so I would recommend that you shop elsewhere. There is a larger shop another 500m down the hill. If you are a light sleeper I would recommend turning the boiler off at night as its constant ignition might keep you awake. Overall we were please with our choice and would come back.
Just loved to place and the location. Great dinner, grocery store and bakery close by.
This apartment is exactly as it is in the pictures, clean, bright and sunny. Isabelle was the perfect hostess from the first contact right up to our late check-out which allowed us to spend a leisurely last morning over coffee & croissants in her small but comfortable apartment.
Isabelle provided us with clear instructions on how to get to the apartment from the airport. It really is only a short walk from Anvers. We're an active couple in our late 50's, if you're not good with stairs or carrying a lot of luggage you should consider taking a taxi. Once there, she and her husband explained the ins and outs of the place, showed us how to get to the bakery, where then closest wine & cheese shops were etc. They are both very friendly and took plenty of time to answer all of our questions.
The staircase is a disaster, dark and smelly so Isabelle winked and said just close your eyes. But the apartment in contrast is bright, clean and sunny. As non smokers we were a bit worried about what some of the other reviewers wrote about smoke but believe me - there is no smell of smoke in the apartment! We noticed some of the neighbors smoking in the windows of the inner courtyard, which means if you leave the bathroom window open you might have smoke in the apartment. The bathroom is spacious and the rain shower really a luxury after a day of sightseeing. Fresh towels and a roll of toilet paper were provided. The bed is very comfortable, the linens clean, and there is plenty of closet space. An iron and ironing board and vacuum cleaner are also available. The street is quiet except for the people sitting outside at the cafes down on the corner. If you're a light sleeper bring your earplugs.
The kitchen is small but has everything you need for a short stay. We stocked the fridge with milk, butter, wine, cheese, meat etc. and could enjoy our breakfasts of fresh croissants and coffee (Senseo, if you want to bring your own pads) with the morning sun streaming through the windows!
The wifi is really good and a real bonus when checking opening times, train schedules etc. and allowed us to easily check in for our flight before leaving the apartment.
We would definately recommend this apartment, and if we ever come back to Paris would certainly chose to stay there again!
You can't beat wakings up to the bells of Sacre Coeur!
We loved this flat.
Isabelle was absolutely wonderful about corresponding with me and patient when I had some difficulty with my Paypal account. Unfortunately, I didn't meet her, but she had a delightful friend take care of meeting us, showing us the rooms, how everything worked, etc. Communicating with both of them was very easy and I just cannot say enough how welcome we felt.
The flat is on the 4th floor and there is no elevator, but especially if you are traveling light it is not a problem. The stairs gave me an excuse to enjoy more French food and wine. At first we didn't realize there was a light to switch on at the bottom of the stairs - the stairway is pretty dark if you don't switch the light on. It's a little button on the wall in the foyer. Once we climbed the staircase and opened the front door, we loved the light, the windows, the calm clean relaxing feel of the flat. The two rooms are bright and airy and both have nearly floor to ceiling windows that open so you can enjoy the air. We kept them open almost all the time and had fun listening to the music from the little square just down the hill. With sunset at nearly 10 pm, the square was lively but never a problem.
I could go on an on about how much we loved this little place. I slept on the sofa which has a trundle bed. I didn't bother pulling it out, but was quite comfortable and it was easy to put the bedding away for the daytime. My niece had the bedroom since she sleeps later and she looked as comfy as a cat stretched in the sun when morning came. She said the bed was really comfortable. The bathroom was great, nicely laid out and very clean with decent towels, a supply of toilet paper, etc. You do need to bring your own toiletries.
We didn't cook very much, but the kitchen came with the basics we needed for cooking, but you do need to buy your own spices, oils, and supplies. There are markets around so that was easy to do.
We absolutely loved being in Montmartre. It suited us so well - like a small village in the city. It is a little further to get to the more typical tourist attractions, but the Metro is nearby and pretty easy to navigate. I downloaded an app that got us around fairly well. And watching sunsets from Sacre Coeur? Stunning. You won't regret your decision to stay at Isabelle's lovely flat. I would absolutely stay again if I am in Paris, and would recommend it to a friend. Merci Isabelle!
We rented the apartment for 3 nights. We arrived in the evening and were met by Isabelle and her husband. They were very welcoming and informative. The apartment is lovely--spacious and clean. Very nice linens and towels. The kitchen was small, but had everything we needed. We really felt like we were living in Paris. We would definitely return!
apartment very well located at the foot of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Montmartre overlooking part of Paris.
It is brand new, very sunny, in a quiet street in the heart of Montmartre.
Many restaurants are located down the street on the Square Louise Michel.
The Anvers metro station, you will be a few stops from the Champs Elysées and the Eiffel Tower.
A very romantic place to visit Paris in peace.
