About Phil Wood

We are both originally from the UK, no kids but we have 2 doggies, which explains why the garden is dog safe and we welcome doggies as guests at no extra cost.

Phil Wood purchased this house in 2007

Why Phil Wood chose Crystal Beach

We love this area of Vermont, it combines being not too far from Stamford where we live, its near(ish) for skiing, has a local airport (I fly) and there is the largest lake in Vermont (fully enclosed) .. the lake is frozen in winter, there's a beach which is great for kids in summer.

What makes this house unique

This house is our home and its your home while you are here. We make sure its well stocked with usual household staples, paper goods for bathroom and kitchen, washer dryer supplies, bedding in all combinations, lots of towels and a fully stocked kitchen that makes cooking in easy. We make sure that the staples such as condiments, butter, oil etc are always here so you don't need to bring those.

We love doggies, the garden is dog safe so this is a vacation for ALL the members of your family.

Nice place for dogs!

  • 4 of 5

We were in Vermont for the New Year. It was way too cold to enjoy much of the outdoors, unfortunately. But we had a comfortable place to spend our time indoors. We did have a problem with the heat on our first full day, but Phil resolved it with the help of his local handyman, Tom. The house is big and has everything you need. It was just great to be able to travel with our dog, rather than boarding him during the crowded and expensive holiday season. Thanks! We’d love to go back and check out the lake when it’s warmer :)

Great experience.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for the Christmas Holiday and it worked out perfect. Phil was in contact prior to our arrival with detailed information and continued to be responsive thru out our stay. The house was toasty warm Even though the temperatures were extremely cold even by Vermont standards. Loved the layout with two bedrooms and bath upstairs and one bedroom and bath downstairs. Well stocked kitchen and spacious living area. Hope to visit again.

Quaint Vermont Home

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay in Castleton. The home was perfect for us and our puppy Kip. It was cozy, close to town and the highway and supplied all the conveniences of home. Prior to our departure we decided that we would not only be back but we would be thrilled to return to this home. Thank you for a fantastic weekend.

Wonderful week in a nice house in foliage season.

Immaculately clean! Comfortable beds and bedding. Every house says they have a fully stocked kitchen but this really is. (bring a sharp utility knife). Owner is very pleasant and accommodating.
