Beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

Stayed in February 2016 with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday. The house was beautiful, well equipped and spotless. It's in-town location was perfect- no car needed! After exploring, we enjoyed relaxing by the fire. It turned out to be a very special birthday indeed!

Woodstock Stay

My Husband and I and my niece and her husband came up for the 4th of July week. The cabin is within walking distance to the town which is fabulous not having to drive to the town. The cabin looks pretty much like it does in the pictures and was very easy to get to. The cabin was also pretty clean which is always a plus. The master bedroom is very nice and has the only air conditioner on the main floor. The second floor larger bedroom was also nice however there is no air conditioner in that room which was very odd the only air conditioner up there was in the third small childrens bedroom which made no sense because the other bedroom really needed it and my niece and her husband were very dissapointed having chipped in for the rental and we were told that the house was air conditioned however, only two rooms had it and the house was very hot and uncomfortable. I had to run out and get a fan for them and the other problem with that room was it was super bright in the morning so you are awoken at the crack of dawn. The master bedroom on the main floor was really nice and there were no problems with that room. The only bad thing other then not enough air conditioners is that the filters in both air conditioners were very dirty and you could hear the units struggling the filters haven't been cleaned in a really long time which we did clean and then they were fine. I paid for cleaning and the air conditioners should have been cleaned. I would definitely stay in the cabin again but only in the winter time unless they added more air conditioners. I don't understand why cabins upstate think its not hot enough in the dead of summer to think they don't need air conditioners its beyond me. however, the patio and the rest of cabin was pretty much as you see it. I would have given more star rating if not for the two issues we had. If the a/c doesn't matter to you then this cabin is great!!

The house was so cute--comfortable--having that brook outside was great--we would certainly consider renting the same house on our next visit

Wonderful Home in a Wonderful Place

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at the Brookside Retreat with four friends and it was fantastic! The house is well appointed and comfortable, and the outdoor courtyard with dining table, outdoor fireplace and seating was perfect. The house is 5 minute walk to the center of Woodstock and it's location along Tannery Creek is beautiful and peaceful. The property manager and owner were great and the couple questions we had were answered right away.

None of us had ever been to Woodstock before and we were blown away by what a wonderful town it is! We walked to Bread Alone every morning for breakfast, strolled the streets, grabbed drinks and enjoyed the jazz music at The Station, hiked the Overlook Trail, and had a great dinner at Cucina. The only time we ever had to get in the car was to drive up the the trailhead of our hike!

We would all highly recommend Woodstock and the Brookside Retreat and all plan to return in the future!
