We threw a birthday weekend party for my husband this weekend in LBI. Altogether, there were 10+ kids under the age of 12 and 12 adults at any given time. The kids loved the bunk rooms and the short walk to the beach; and the adults liked the outdoor spaces, including the grill and hot tub. Jim went above and beyond to accommodate our group. He even set up a long table outside for us and dropped off additional folding chairs. He also set up a brand new gas grill on the third floor. The house is clean with great indoor and outdoor space. The outdoor shower has hot water too, which is really nice. We did not encounter any issues with the house. If you choose to use the towels, you are asked to launder them, so bring some detergent. Also, although he's great to work with and very flexible, you may have to play phone tag with Jim initially to hash out logistics (but it's worth it)! All in all--a great house for families and large group gatherings.
Stayed a long weekend in April. Met family from Virginia and upstate New York. House is extremely spacious with tons of places for privacy if you want that. Hot tub and roof deck is the highest around and you can see for miles. Everything is close by and within walking distance, ice cream, pizza, shops, mini-golf and a great sports bar 2 blocks away. The beach is right up the street. Plus Atlantic City is a 30 min drive to all that AC has to offer.
House has internet, satellite radio, ping-pong table, video games and flat screen TV's in every room. Could not ask for anything else and cant wait to come back next year for what will now be our annual family reunion spot.
Jim is great to work with and easy to contact with any questions or concerns.
We had 14 people and we rented the house for a long weekend and had a wonderful time. The house is very spacious and had all the comforts of home. We enjoyed the hot tub and the kids enjoyed playing ping pong. Jim was very nice to work with and extremely accommodating. House is in a great location can walk to get coffee in the morning and ice cream at night. Beach is very close and all the TV's are outstanding..
Yes there were many rooms in this house so a large party could be there and many tv sets. Also there were 2 kitchens but the main one was on the 3rd floor which is a problem for those who have trouble getting up and down stairs. There was almost nothing in the 1st floor kitchen. Also I got in late - 3:30 in the morning and did not appreciate having to make my own bed, hunt down the correct size sheets to fit the bed in the room I was going to sleep because the ones in the room did not fit the bed. The towels that were available were very old and you had to wash the towels before you left which is a problem when you have to use towels the same day that you leave. Some of the furniture was outdated/broken down and needs to be replaced. You also had to find the correct TV remote for the TV that you were trying to use because previous renters moved them around. there was some noise (sounded like a washer) running all night long almost every night so was hard to sleep.
We went to Philadelphia, the statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, Shopping mall. A full grocery store is not too faraway.
So if you do not care how the place looks, or that you have to clean up the place, do the laundry etc and only want to be close to the beach for the money you pay for this place, then this is the place for you. I would not come back nor would I recommend any of my friends to stay at this house.
The property owner is a VERY easy person to work with, which prove to be needed for us. This three story house right near the beach is huge! The bathrooms have these incredible tiled walk in shower that I loved! There is a kitchen on the first and third levels. There is a ping pong table and wine cooler on the first level. The problems that we had were: the furniture was in need of being replaced (i.e. sofas without legs/feet, broken back sofa, kitchen chair missing an arm, etc...), the refrigerator on the first floor would not keep our food cool, the dishwasher on the first floor was not working properly. One day when my daughter took a shower on the second floor it came through the ceiling on the first floor and puddled like crazy, the floors were so dirty my nine year old that ALWAYS walk around our home in bare feet (even in the winter) had to wear socks due to the floors being so filthy, you have to put sheets on the bed you will be sleeping in but the sheets that you find in the room do not match and do not fit-so you have to hunt down sheets that fit! This place was less than desirable for my family. I saved thousands of dollars for our trip to New Jersey. We went to several different places while there (D.C., Philadelphia, Six Flags Great Adventure, Englishtown Auction, and The Statue of Liberty) our stay at this house was the worst park of our trip. We were scheduled to stay in the smaller apartment for two days and then move into the large three story house, but the smaller apartment next door was in such bad shape we ended up staying for the two days at a Homewoods Suite Hotel which was EXTREMELY high, but worth every penny not to stay in that dilapidated smaller apartment. The smaller apartment (one of Jim's) had holes in the walls and floor, no cover plate on the electrical wall sockets, etc, etc,. The only reason I stayed in the larger house was because my sister in law was coming to join us and I did not know if she would be able to afford to stay in a hotel like I wanted to do. So, I had to push past my disgust and stay somewhere I actually would have NEVER stayed. I kind of felt insulted that I had to pay Jim to stay there. This was a nightmare for me. I live in a VERY clean home and I cannot believe this big house has not been kept up any better than this. What a waste of my money. My daughter complained about the smell of the blankets on the beds. I refused to use it. I BOUGHT my own! (SMH)!!!
Great House for large group, we recently stayed - we were 5 families, all with 2 kids each (under the age of 6!), the house large enough to give everyone enough space to themselves. The house is well stocked and finishes are beautiful. 1 very short block to the beach, pizza across the street and loads of ice-cream stores! You never need to drive anywhere. Jim is fabulous to work with.
