In 2003 my wife Heather and I came to Western North Carolina and fell in love with the mountains and its people. After putting on our hiking boots and looking at properites all over the area we found our dream property in the Crabtree area of Haywood County. This is where we built our dream mountain home that we would love to share with you. We look forward to many years of living our dream, which most definately includes horse back riding, hiking and getting to know all the beautiful areas of Western North Carolina.

Escape from the daily rushing around and enjoy the peace and privacy our property has to offer. Walk down to the River to fish for Trout, take a walk on our trails or just enjoy sitting out on the deck looking at the beautiful mountains. Bring your horse if you have one and take advantage of the many miles of old logging trails from the Estate.
We had 10 adults, 4 toddlers, and one Labrador in the house and no one felt cramped. We did not have any problems with water, mentioned in previous reviews, and never had to use the reserve water reservoir. The house is well designed to accommodate many folks. It was unusually warm while we were there, 85 degrees in late Oct!, and the A/C had difficulty keeping the main room comfortable on sunny days with all that glass. The owner said he would have the HVAC tuned, which should solve the problem. We had a great time here, celebrating our 50th anniversary with all of our family, thanks.
The house was very much like the web page said. Just beautiful views and very well furnished. Outside fireplace was fun in the evenings. Only 30 minutes from Asheville so we spent one day there shopping. I would recommend this to anyone. Owners were very interested n making sure your stay went well.
Stayed three nights in this beautiful home for our annual sibling gathering. There were seven adults and we were very comfortable! We cooked together in the kitchen and on the gas grill, fished in the Pigeon River, shopped in Waynesville (lovely shops), watched football, and enjoyed the wonderful views from the deck! We did not have any water problems though we all showered daily and washed dishes by hand and in the dishwasher. Noting that the property is for sale, we did let Scott know some relatively minor concerns, but they did not interfere with our stay and he was very receptive to our comments.
Owner if the property not responded to phone calls, after tow day of leaving the water is cutting we tray to call him many times without any responses. We send him many messages than he responded, also the house without Internet after some daies of communication he give us limited access. After we cleaned the house the security deposit not refounded, I sent him many emails through home away he not responded.
Numerous calls made at every phone number given and no response to the property having no water with a household full of family.
Ran out of water on day 2. 12 people in the house and couldn't keep up with toilets and showers. Water truck did arrive with water but 2 days later water pressure decreased. Hot tub was mentioned as an amenity but wasn't there when we arrived. House had a "for sale by owner" sign when we arrived, we knew that wasn't a good sign. Paid a ton of money, we shouldn't have had to deal with this stuff. Beautiful house and amazing views.
