Beautiful views!

  • 4 of 5

We were 4 couples staying here in mid October. It is a beautiful home with fantastic views. Well located for our motorcycle excursions. The garage easily held our 3 bikes and one trike. Dear were often spotted on the property along with a neighbors really friendly Golden and Black labs. They would come by in the morning for coffee....really it was for the bacon. Speaking of which, the kitchen was amazing! Viking stove was really great for cooking. 2 coffee pots for picky drinkers worked too. We really and truly enjoyed our stay.

We did run out of water once because the basement toilet got stuck running. The basement bedroom closet had water in it and it nearly ruined a pair of my wifes boots. We were able to clean, dry and save them. The only other down side was all the spiders....lots of spiders. The morning sun would reveal several webs on the porch and elsewhere. Bring some repellant and they should not be a problem. Overall, we highly recommend staying here...worth every penny.

Amazing. We had about 6 inches of snow while we were there. It was the most beautiful weekend ever. The house is perfect for a family to be snowed in together. The floor plan was the best rental I have ever stayed. Plan on going back every year! We loved our stay. ❤️❄️⛄️ The view is indescribable and breathtaking durning a snow. Fireplaces helps keep the house toasty and the kitchen was great. Nothing but wonderful things to say about this house.

Beautiful Property

  • 4 of 5

We had 10 adults, 4 toddlers, and one Labrador in the house and no one felt cramped. We did not have any problems with water, mentioned in previous reviews, and never had to use the reserve water reservoir. The house is well designed to accommodate many folks. It was unusually warm while we were there, 85 degrees in late Oct!, and the A/C had difficulty keeping the main room comfortable on sunny days with all that glass. The owner said he would have the HVAC tuned, which should solve the problem. We had a great time here, celebrating our 50th anniversary with all of our family, thanks.

The house was very much like the web page said. Just beautiful views and very well furnished. Outside fireplace was fun in the evenings. Only 30 minutes from Asheville so we spent one day there shopping. I would recommend this to anyone. Owners were very interested n making sure your stay went well.

Wonderful home!

  • 5 of 5

Stayed three nights in this beautiful home for our annual sibling gathering. There were seven adults and we were very comfortable! We cooked together in the kitchen and on the gas grill, fished in the Pigeon River, shopped in Waynesville (lovely shops), watched football, and enjoyed the wonderful views from the deck! We did not have any water problems though we all showered daily and washed dishes by hand and in the dishwasher. Noting that the property is for sale, we did let Scott know some relatively minor concerns, but they did not interfere with our stay and he was very receptive to our comments.

Owner's Response: In the 5 years we have been renting our home we have never held anyone’s security deposit. Due to these guests total lack of respect for our property we kept there security deposit to cover additional expenses and for the following reasons. • Upon arriving at the house after your checkout the temperature was set at 59 degrees with several windows left open. • Almost every light and ceiling fan in the house was turn on and left on like someone deliberately turned them on. • The electric bill was 4 times the average usage for the 7 days and I am sure this is the reason why. • The shed was filled with garbage (at least 30 bags) as well as miscellaneous garbage left on the floor which I had to put into garbage bags and haul to the garbage station. Some of the garbage which was not bagged were dirty diapers, beer bottles, wine bottles and other disgusting items. • It was obvious to us there were more than the 12 person maximum in the house. The furniture in the great room and lower level family room was moved to the side to make room for the mattresses taken from our personal property in the garage for your use. • We are also certain your water usage for that many people and your lack of respect contributed to your running out of water during your stay. • The inside of the house was also a mess with dirty dishes, more garbage and leftover food still in the pots from the previous night’s dinner. Once again very disgusting. • All the connections to all the TV’s in the whole house, including the Bose surround system and the power plug for the main TV in the great room were disconnected and switched around for a reason beyond my understanding and not put back as they originally were. • The cord to the hotspot box is missing.
