About Nita Ettinger, Property Manager
We love Siesta Key Beach and biking on the beach early in the morning. Siesta Key is a great place to escape the cold winters of Minnesota and get out and play a little tennis & golf. We try to come down and enjoy the home and the beach as much as we can, which is never enough.
Nita Ettinger, Property Manager purchased this House in 2011
Why Nita Ettinger, Property Manager chose Siesta Key
We think it is in the best spot on Siesta Key. Easy on and off the Key and the proximity to restaurants, shopping, rentals etc. make it ideal.

Great House In Great Location!
This house is about a 2 block walk to Beach Access #12 (Crescent Beach). There is a very good restaurant at the end of the dead end street where the house is located and another around the corner. There is also small market at the end of the block. Everything you need (including kayak rentals, beach shops, liquor shopping, and the marina etc.) are all available within a block or so radius. There are also many free ride services available to take you to the other side of Siesta Key to the Village where there are more bars, restaurants and shops.
As to the house itself, it was awesome! It had everything we needed (toasters, blenders, cocktail shakers, pool friendly wine glasses, bottle openers, beach stuff, etc.!). The house was very clean and well equipped. The pool was also clean, warm and fabulous!!!!! We were, admittedly, a little disappointed when additional guests showed up at the adjoining apartment part way through our stay. We knew they were coming, but we really, really, really liked having everything to ourselves. With that said, we really only saw each other coming and going so it was not a big deal at all.
We were thrilled with all aspects of our rental and would absolutely not hesitate to rent again!!!
We're very happy that you enjoyed your stay at our home on Siesta Key and look forward to having you back for a future visit.
Brian & Sue,
Beautiful home! Close to the beach and town. We had such a fun little getaway. Will definitely return!
We would definitely go back!!!
We enjoyed our stay very much!! Location was perfect and the house and pool were too!
We're glad you enjoyed your stay at our home on Siesta Key and hope to have you back in the future!
Brian & Sue, Owners
The property was as described and as expected. There were lots of great beach items for the kids (5, 7, 10) as well as pool stuff. The patio was a great spot to hang out and I think the kids spent more time in the pool than asleep for the whole vacation.
The grill doesn't get very hot so plan extra time into your grilling plan. (Max about 300 deg versus about 600 deg on my standard home grill). Could have tried swapping tanks but that didn't seem to be the problem.
The kitchen was stocked just right for a week of Trader Joe's runs. And the fold out couch is one of the most comfortable fold out couches I've seen (Memory foam).
The walk to the beach was something like 5 min and there is a beach cart to haul a family's worth of stuff-shovels, buckets, boogie boards, chairs, umbrellas...
great place to stay with the beach close by and some good restaurants and a little grocery store within a 5 minute walk. Look forward to returning.
We're so glad you enjoyed your stay at our home on Siesta Key. We look forward to having you again!
Had problems with the property manager
So, overall, the place is ok. The pool isn't really a great sell as we rarely used it since we spent all our time at the beach, and although they said it was heated, it was actually pretty cold at night. The two twin bed are like rubber! Very uncomfortable to sleep on. The sink in the bathroom attached to the room with the twin beds had a leak, and water would squirt up at us if we turned it on. There were ants in the unit, saw them regularly, even a roach. The flush handle to the toilet broke off just from one use (very old and already broken), and the property manager blamed it on us. Mind you, we were not rough and just destroyed everything!
The kitchen was nice and big, so had no problem cooking breakfast in it. The place was spacious enough for 5 guests, it will probably start getting tight with 6 or more guests.
Now for the pretty bad..the neighbors in unit A were awful. They are regulars who stay in that unit. Particularly the women was very rude to my friend, and cursed her out about how they needed space to park. The property manager also called me twice to tell me that we didn't park in the right place, even though we parked exactly where she told us to. She wanted there to be a space left for her up at the very front. Uhm....we are the guests, so we shouldn't have to park further away to accommodate a property manager who really shouldn't even be there while we are occupying the units. On top of that, the property manager got mad because we left a load of laundry in the wash, which I assumed was ok because the cleaner would come in right after we leave and put it in the dryer? No, apparently that's very bad. We got charged an extra $45 for laundry which I am really not pleased about because we left the place very clean and essentially did 2 loads of laundry for them! Will not be staying at this property again!
We’re sorry that your experience at our home was not what you had expected for your vacation.
Our home is set up like a duplex with shared driveway, pool, patio, & laundry. Guests staying in our home are asked to comply with a “Good Neighbor” policy–treat fellow guests with respect, observe quiet hours, & conduct themselves in a manner non-offensive to their neighbor. We’re sorry that you had issues with the guests staying in the other unit.
The pool heater is set at 84 degrees and serviced weekly. The pool water temp. may dip below the heaters set temperature at night before warming back up during the day when there are cooler night time temperatures.
Sorry that you found the twin beds uncomfortable. This is the first complaint we’ve received in 6 years and we will look into your concerns.
Our rental agreement requests that all guests report maintenance issues or notable conditions to our property manager upon arrival or if they arise during your stay so that we can resolve or repair any issues. Our property manager did not receive a notice from you during your stay, so, unfortunately, the toilet and sink issues could not be addressed until after your departure. The toilet handle has been replaced & bathroom sink faucet filter cleaned. Thank you for notifying us regarding these maintenance issues.
We have an annual contract for pest control that provides quarterly preventative treatment. The house exterior was treated on October 10, 2017. We do not have the interior treated unless we have reports of bugs, which prior to your notification we had not had this quarter. We would appreciate additional information regarding where you saw the ants (sugar ants or bigger?) and if the palmetto bug you saw was alive or dead and where you saw it. Knowing this will give us information to provide for adequate treatment.
Laundry fee: It is our goal to offer efficient guest check in/out. Many guests who stay in our home want to maximize their vacation time & request early check-in or late check-out. In order to accommodate, we ask that all guests leave no more than 2 loads of dirty linens for our housekeeper. Guests who choose not to do laundry have the option of leaving it for the housekeeper and are charged a rate of $15 per hour. Our laundry policy is clearly stated in the rental agreement.
The driveway can fit 5 or 6 cars. Not sure why there were parking issues during your stay and apologize for any stress it may have caused.
