Roomy 3 bedroom, 2 bath on a quiet dead end street. All bedrooms are on the main floor. Also two TV/family rooms plus a living room for the family that wants to spread out. Less than 1/4 mile from the Cape Cod Rail Trail (bike trail), 1.5 miles from the National Seashore beaches, and 1.5 miles from the calmer Bay side beaches of the Cape Walking distance to ice cream and donuts/coffee. Garage for bike storage. Huge deck.
Please note there are NO pets allowed and NO smoking allowed at this property.
We had a great week at this house with a 13 year old, 10 year old and Grandparents. We got a lot of use out of the deck and picnic table as well as the fantastic outdoor shower after a day at the beach. Lots of windows and fans in every room allowed air to flow through the house enough to keep it cool in the evenings without A/C. Our week was high 80's/low 90's during the day and down in 70's at night.
Location is within walking distance to Cape Cod Rail Trail, several bike rental places and easy backroad drive to Nauset Light Beach. Also easy walk to lunch/breakfast places and easy drive to lots of places with take out food if you're like us and don't like to cook much on vacation. :) Kitchen is small but we used grill more than the stove.
Great location and spacious layout. Furniture in main living area was comfortable and we liked not having a TV in that spot. The kids liked the staircase and hideout upstairs.
We hope to be back next year! Thanks!
This is the second year we have stayed here and absolutely love the house! Paul takes great care in communicating with us prior to our arrival and sending us all the information we need to have for our stay. The floor plan is wonderfully spacious for our family. Absolutely love the deck and enjoyed morning coffee and evening dinners outside. The house is clean, well-equipped and offers everything a family would need on a vacation on the Cape. Kids loved the upstairs TV hideout! Very easy access to the beach and bike trail. Sam's Deli up the road is not to be missed!! Fireworks display at Rock Harbor was fantastic. Make sure to try out The Knack restaurant right by the Orleans Rotary for fish tacos as well as the Ice Cream Cafe in Orleans, which serves awesome homemade ice cream. We also ventured up to Provincetown this year to go on a whale watch and it was well worth the trip! Thanks again for a wonderful stay and we look forward to a return trip next year!
The location of the house is wonderful. Convenient to all points of interest in Eastham. Bike trail, Ben and Jerrys ice cream, Sam's Deli, fish markets (Friendly Fisherman and Mac's), restaurants (Fairway, Hole in One Donut shop, Local Break) all in short walking distance (under 1/2 mile). Less than a 5 minute drive in any direction gets you to both bay and ocean side beaches, mini golf, the town green, and so much more. Also, Orleans to the South and Welfleet to the north are only about 15 minutes by car and great towns to visit!
The deck is beautiful and it was great to have a gas grill (most cape rentals have charcoal if they have a grill at all.) We ate breakfast outside every morning. The sitting set with the gray cushions is very comfortable, but I would personally swap the Picnic table for a full patio set (just my preference.)
The inside of the house shows some nice updates (master bath is very nice) but if you plan on cooking a lot of meals at home, the kitchen is REALLY tight. We knew it was galley style going in but it just wasn't what we were expecting. We used it quite a bit (with a 10 month old we ate dinners at home and made our lunches to take to the beach with us) and it got cramped with two people in it. Upstairs and downstairs TV rooms are nice, but I would rather see the downstairs TV moved to the living area in front of the extremely comfy living room furniture.
The garage contains basic beach chairs and beach games. It is also a great place to store the grey outdoor cushions when you know it will rain. Plenty of space for bike storage as well.
Outdoor shower is very clean with good temp and pressure. There is a little "privacy" issue from the rear bedroom, but nothing terrible. Owner may want to check the latching mechanism on the door as it tends to stick after closing. Wifey had to rescue me the first time we used it haha.
All in all we had a nice stay at the home and Paul was very accommodating and offered an open line off communication during our stay. I would recommend the property to friends and family with OLDER children.
We were so impressed with this Cape home! We have been going to the Cape for years during the summer months. We found this home on HomeAway.com and couldn't have been happier! The owners were so prompt and easy to deal with, they made the entire experience a pleasure!
The home is much roomier than it looks in the pictures, the kids had plenty of room to play and not get in each others way. We spent many a night on the gorgeous new deck grilling, eating, drinking and talking.
It was a hot week but the inside stayed very cool and was extremely quiet and peaceful. Love the layout of the home and extremely glad we had the two bathrooms so there was no waiting...ha!
We will definitely be going back next year and would highly recommend this Cape home to our friends and family.
And we have to mention that Eastham is a beautiful town with access to the National Seashore! The kids loved the Nauset Light Beach and Coast Guard Beach for boogie boarding.
The bike trail is so close to this home, we took many a ride and walk on it, you will never get bored!
We also walked to get ice cream in the evening at Ben & Jerry's and Nauset Ice Cream.
We did so much in our week and had such a great vacation, thank you to the owners for sharing their home with us...we WILL be back!
This property was absolutely perfect for our first big Cape vacation. The property owners were so detail-oriented and organized throughout the whole process. I was very impressed with how smooth the whole transaction was.
The house is really wonderful. It was so much more spacious than we expected, and the deck was the perfect place to spend our evenings grilling out and relaxing.
It rained the first couple of days of our trip but the owners had provided a list of great activities, such as the Truro winery.
On all of the sunny days of our vacation we were able to bike to the local beaches. We biked to Marconi, Nauset, and Coast Guard, and we loved them all!
The location is excellent. We walked to the Friendly Fisherman for dinner on our first and last nights there and we were also within walking distance of a couple of little markets so I was able to sneak out and walk to the market for milk before my fellow vacationers woke up.
All in all the house is really perfect for anyone looking for a relaxing stay on the Cape with easy access to the beaches and bike trails. We loved it!
I would recommend this house to anyone who wants to relax on vacation and have fun with the family. So close to everything you need or want while on vacation. The owners make it so that all you really need to bring is sheets, towels and extra blankets. The great thing about the owner is how he makes you feel wanted and comfortable from the start of your interest with the property to even after your stay. Very warm and comforting. The house is also located in the beginning of a cul-de-sac. which is great if your escaping the car noises the city can have.
My family and I had such an amazing time. The house is more spacious than the pictures show. One end of the house has the master bedroom and master bath (which is spectacular ;-) ), and the other end of the house is where the two bedrooms are along with the second bathroom. Also located in this section is an upstairs loft area where one of the TV’s are located along with plenty of seating and below is the other section where there was a TV, books, puzzles and games for you to enjoy.
Very quiet neighborhood, which made it more relaxing sitting out on the deck. Very convenient to restaurants, mini golf, beaches and drive in. You could walk to Dunkin Donuts, Sam's Deli (great sandwiches), country store with all your needs should you forget anything, Mac's Seafood (lobsters and so on, great prices and they will cook the lobsters for free, Here is where you should go to get great lobsters), Hole in One is a donut shop with huge fresh donuts and coffee along with cup cakes, Fair view restaurant was nice and the bike trail.
Arnolds resturant is also located on RT 6 and not far from the house, I would not recommend going, they over cooked the lobsters and charge more than market price.
It's best to go to Nauset Beach by 9:30am, small parking lot and fills up quickly, but the beach is so great. We ended up buying a pass for $45.00 good for the remainder of the year to any National Seashore beach, otherwise the cost is $15.00 per day.
My family and I are looking forward to renting this home again next year. =)
Close to beautiful Nauset Light Beach, part of the National Seashore National Park. Great for swimming, surfing and surf casting. Also just minutes away from the calm waters of Cape Cod Bay.
