We can't begin to thank you enough for this perfect getaway. You have an amazing home, thank you for sharing that with us. this is the ideal get away I needed to take a step back from my daily life on the ground in Afghanistan. Also if you haven't taken the opportunity to go explore Pennscave, I highly reccommend it. We will definitely be reccommending your cottage to our friends. May God bless you and your family.

P.S. Please keep me in your prayers as I travel back over seas.

Cozy ,Country, Radness w/ Botanical Beauty!

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is beautuful inside and out. My wife and I drew so much inspiration from the decor and layout. You should find it very cozy and well equipped. We enjoyed the outside seating overlooking the lake . For those who enjoy gardening, taking a stroll around the property should give you plenty of eye candy.

Highly Recommend! Great view of the lake. Peaceful and quiet. Accommodations were perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a peaceful, quiet weekend get away...and the cottage location and amenities were perfect. Though we stayed just two short nights, we'd recommend it for any length of stay. The view of the lake was incredible, both from the front porch as well as the hot tub/outside dining area. Both the inside and outside was nicely decorated, fitting with the cottage theme. We also found the accommodations, inside and out, to be be extremely clean and well kept. As others have posted, the cottage is adjacent to the owners primary home, but we did not find this detractive to the overall environment. The cottage has its own parking area and entrance. Though aware of the home next door, we felt we had complete privacy. We did not encounter the owners the entire time we were there. There is one window that overlooks the hot tub area, but the shade was always down and lights off. Perhaps the owners might consider a removable fence panel or small tree to aid in privacy if it is a common concern. But was not an issue for us at all.

Though it rained most of the weekend we were there, we enjoyed the quite time in the hot tub and simply sitting on the porch with coffee or wine enjoying the view. The fire pit area also afforded a great view, but the rain did not make it possible for us. We also found ample things to do in town and the surrounding area. Starr Hill Vineyard and Winery was great for wine tasting. We also hiked a little at Bilger's Rocks, and found a few antique locations in town as well and a large co-op in Clearfield called Historica Plus. It is in the Clearfield business district, offering three floors of antiques showcased in a historic, former department store.

For food and groceries, we found the South Side Subs and Deli store in town to be a great local resource. We stopped in the Friday we arrived to get subs and to get and a few necessities for breakfast the next day. There is also a small grocery store in town and a few places to eat, though we found ourselves elsewhere during dinner time. We had dinner one evening at Billy's Burgerland in Clearfield. Nothing fancy, but the food was great and we enjoy seeking out places of local flavor. Highly recommend it. Clearfield seemed to have decent business district...just noting it for more rainy day options.

Jim and Karen were wonderful hosts! It was exactly the getaway we were in need of from our busy family of seven. Highly recommend the cottage!

Beautiful and unique Cottage!!

  • 4 of 5

Me and my husband recently stayed here and we had an amazing time. The place was exactly how it was in the pictures.Athens lake view was breath taking. The home was very clean and it had everything you needed. My favorite part of the cottage was the jacuzzi.Just sit down, have a drink and enjoy the view. The owners house was a bit close, but they gave us our privacy.Love this place..I will definitely return one day.I have a few friends already booked it when I told them my experience on how beautiful and relaxing this place was..Great place to getaway from everything..

Lovely relaxing visit - didn't even mind the rain!

  • 5 of 5

We came to Dancing Crow Cottage in the middle of a two week trip around the north-east, and the relaxing atmosphere was just what we needed to wind down after a busy week.

We were unlucky with the weather - it rained a lot and was quite misty, which obscured the view on some days, but we didn't mind so much as the cottage itself is so beautiful. The pictures don't do it justice, and the bathroom in particular is much bigger than it looked in the photos.

Once the weather cleared the view was incredible, and the deck overlooking the lake was a beautiful spot to curl up with a book. It was a bit too chilly for the hot tub, but that didn't stop us from getting in anyway!

The hosts are very respectful of their guests' privacy, and in fact we didn't see them once on the whole trip - it felt like we had the whole lake to ourselves!

The cottage is very clean and comfortable and the nearby town of Curwensville is very friendly and has all the local amenities you'll need (you should definitely stop by the Strawberry Tree Tea Rooms!). I'd highly recommend Dancing Crow Cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing, romantic break.

Quiet get away with an amazing view!

  • 5 of 5

Welcoming feeling upon arrival. Delicious homemade pina colada zucchini bread. Breathtaking view of the lake. Cozy, romantic cottage. Very clean. Fully supplied kitchen. Ample room for food. Roomy bathroom. Lots of towels. Heated floors a bonus! Comfortable bed. Did I mention the view! Relaxing environment. Hot tub an added extra. Yes, you are close to the owners home but we always felt like we were alone, privacy was well maintained. Would've loved to hike around the lake and sit around the fire pit, but the weather didn't cooperate. Although the lake and cottage looked beautiful covered with snow! Lots of wineries to visit in the surrounding area. Definitely a relaxing and romantic weekend. Would love to return in the warmer weather to enjoy all the outdoor space.
