Located on the second floor of a house in the quiet Santa Teresita neighborhood of Ocean Park in San Juan, a short walk to the Ocean Park beach, Barbosa Park, a supermarket and excellent restaurants. The apartment has three bedrooms, all with a/c, ceiling fans and closets and two full bathrooms. The master bedroom has its own private bath. The common area is very spacious with a large, fully equipped kitchen and laundry. The living and dining room is an open space well suited for the entire group to gather and/or relax. The living room has a large tv with cable and dvd player. The apt. has wi-fi internet. Off the living room is a large deck with table, chairs and a bbq grill. This is an excellent place for relaxing in late afternoons and enjoying evening meals.

My family and I enjoy living in San Juan and we also love traveling. We try to combine our knowledge and appreciation of Puerto Rico with our experience as travelers when we meet and communicate with our guests. Besides the best known tourist attractions, we try to identify other more unique opportunities that our guests may enjoy and make their trip special, depending on their interests. Why John Lombardo chose San Juan

This house is located in a quiet, residential neighborhood which really makes you feel at home. There are no fancy, new condos or other touristy businesses, just lots of shady trees and some nice residential properties which you can appreciate as you walk on your way to the beach or park.

What makes this apartment unique

The house location is excellent, with attraction for the whole family nearby. You can walk to the beach for sunbathing or active water sports, there is also a park nearby that offers tennis courts with lights, a running track and a kids play area. A very well stocked supermarket is a ten minute walk away. A bus stop nearby takes you to Condado and Old San Juan.

Great Place! Lots of fun!

Myself and 7 other girl friends stayed at this property over Spring Break. All of us, over 30, had a wonderful time! The beach was close enough but we still had the home away from feeling. Mr. Lombardo was such a kind man. He answered all of our questions and even helped us to walk to Old San Juan. It is a long but beautiful walk. He also made sure we had travel back to the airport for our 5 am flight. The apartment featured 3 comfortably sized bedrooms and 2 baths. The bathroom was fully stocked. For 8 women, we had everything we needed. Myself and one of the ladies were permitted to sleep on the couch. Mr. Lombardo was the only owner willing to accommodate the size of our party and let us rent his property. We never ran out of towels. It was nice to have a washer and dryer on the premises as well. The grocery story was within walking distance so that was a great help. The apartment had a roof top terrace. This was a nice spot after a long de in the sun. We ate at Inca Chicken, a restaurant recommended by Mr. Lombardo. The food was great. We frequented it twice during our stay. The bus stop is nearby and that allowed up to venture out a bit. The fare was only .75. Please carry coins for the fares. We really enjoyed our time in San Juan and if I had to stay somewhere in PR again, this would be my home away. Thanks Mr. Lombardo!

Fantastic Property to Stay at while in San Juan

Quiet neighborhood - fantastic location, close to the beach and restaurants and not too far driving distance from the Condado strip and Old San Juan. As for the property, I was extremely pleased. It was perfect for our family of 6. The place was clean, well-maintained, spacious and it had everything we needed (including plenty of towels, cooking condiments[!!], a washer & dryer, beach chairs, etc). The deck was awesome. We used the grill a few times and sat outside during the evenings.

Finally, regarding the owner, John couldn't have been more accommodating. Very nice and very attentive.

I would highly recommend this property to other renters.

Wonderful Family Apartment

We found this apartment to be great for 3 senior couples who wanted to experience a residential community in San Juan. The apartment is exactly as pictured. It was very spacious and had everything we needed for a great 10 day stay in Puerto Rico. The owner, John, was fantastic!!! He readily provided terrific travel info to us both before and frequently during our stay. He was always available by phone to answer any question and to ensure that our stay was the best it could possibly be. He even met our taxi driver upon our arrival in the neighborhood to insure that the house was easily found. John provided lots of info on the neighboring beaches, the local grocery and restaurants, the bus links and everything else we had questions about. He even arranged for taxi service back to the airport at 5:00 A.M. for our early plane departure! We truly enjoyed the open deck, all the space in the living room and dining room areas and the kitchen. He even provided many supplies, anticipating our needs. For anyone seeking to know what it would be like to live in a San Juan community, I would recommend this apartment. We want to thank John for the wonderful time we had in San Juan.

This home made our vacation!!

Great place, close to the beach, the owner has a binder for his guest with useful info, places to go, cab #s, prices of sightseeing, suggestions etc. The owner was very friendly & made us feel really welcome we enjoyed our stay. One thing I loved the most was that the house came equipped w/ sunblock, bug spray, cortisone, beach towels & chairs. Perfect!!

An Excellent Family Place To Stay

My wife and I, our three daughters (aged 3, 3, and 5) and an 18 year old tag-along spent two weeks in this rental and have nothing but positive things to say about it. It was exactly as advertised and John was a very responsive and friendly host. The apartment felt very open and roomy, even with the six of us together.

The house is located in a working class neighborhood, a mile or so away from the tourist areas of Condado and Isla Verde, making them both within 1/2-3/4 hour walking distance. A car is recommended (by everyone, it seems), but we didn't bother and got along fine walking and taking the buses. Catch the T5 bus on the south side of Barbosa Park or the 53 bus on the north side of the park by the beach -they will both take you right into Old San Juan (last stop). They're only 75 cents for adults and we didn't have to pay for the kids. However, you need to allow for time for them - they aren't on a schedule and it can take a 1/2 hour for them to show up, sometimes longer. It didn't bother us though - the kids just played in the park or sand while we waited.

As far as what's around the rental, Google Maps is largely useless for businesses. For example, it shows the nearest grocery to be 1/2 mile east of 37 (SuperValue), but the grocery you'll use is actually a block away on McCleary and 37/Loiza. It's a large grocery store with everything we needed - lots of meats and seafood to grill, cereals, fruits, vegetables, etc. For you with small ones, it also has all the diapers, pull-ups and baby products you'll need. John also has a book in the apartment with local restaurants worth visiting and we definitely agreed with the choices. Additionally, the Inca Chicken and Little Italy (brick oven pizza), east on 37/Loiza, were very good and warranted multiple visits.

As for the apartment itself, it was very clean and had everything we needed. We even used the Wii to watch our Netflix account. We didn't need the air conditioning while we were there, but found that running the fans nicely blocked the typical noises of the neighborhood - dogs, cats, cars, roosters... We made good use of the patio and grill, with the grocery being so close. I probably wouldn't recommend the place for anyone with toddlers just learning to walk - there's an ungate-blocklable step up to the dining area- but would readily recommend it to anyone else, especially if you want to experience and mix with more of the real San Juan.
