About Chuck

I am a retired college professor. My wife and I currently reside in Oklahoma and are happy to share our house with you!

Chuck purchased this cabin in 2001

Why Chuck chose New Mexico

My wife and I bought this cabin as 'retreat from the heat'. We loved the convenience of being right on the outside of town and, of course, being right on river.

What makes this cabin unique

All that you need for a relaxing vacation in Red River.

Great location. Can hear the stream from cabin and fish off your front porch.

Property was adequate but needed attention to basic maintenance issues such as electrical outlet repair, toilet running, kitchen supplies, towel and wash rags availability. We left a note for the property mgr on items needing attention so hopefully all that is addressed. Other than that we loved the place and would stay again.

Summer 2016

We were so glad we had used Home Away again. I knew they would not disappoint. The cabin is just feet from a river. We sat on our porch and listened to it run. It was refreshing. Our adult kids had the upstairs room with a balcony that looks out over the river. They love this place and want to return sometime as do we. I would recommend Home Away Cabins to anyone who needs a little down time and refreshment from the Summer heat. And watching the hummingbirds was so much fun!

Best View in Red River!

  • 5 of 5

This property is beautiful! The view front the porch swing can't be beat. Appliances are in great shape. Only complaint we had was the dust. It needs a good deep clean and dusting (ceiling fans, fans in bathroom, etc.....). We have deifinitely found our new spot in Red River!

Nice, cozy cabin. We enjoyed our stay while we visited during the motorcycle rally. We experienced all seasons in the few days we stayed. Loved the view from the cabin and creek right in from of the porch.
