Wonderful house great caretaker

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time. The house was beautiful, clean and with all the amenities you would need. Nathalie the caretaker was always available to give tourist advice and helpful with everything. I highly recommend this house for anyone fortunate enough to be planning a vacation in Aix.

Perfect home to experience Provence

  • 5 of 5

Eight friends rented the Villa Fontaine and we all just loved our stay. It is a beautiful, clean, elegant home. Relaxing at the pool, pizza party, cooking in the fabulous kitchen, it was just perfect. Nathalie was such a help to us directing our forays into the countryside. We wished the internet worked, but maybe that was a blessing!! It is hard to find but, once you do, it is hard to leave.

Owner's Response: We regret that they had difficulty signing on to the internet, it took Susan and her friends a few hours to sort out. It was working earlier in the day.

Perfect Provence Trip

  • 5 of 5

A group of 10 of us traveled from the Metro DC area to meet up with friends who had recently moved to France. We were there to celebrate several 50th birthdays and friendship. The house was just a it was pictured on the website and even more beautiful in person. Many nights were spent next to the pool or at outdoor living space next to the pool. We did take advantage of the opportunity to have a sommelier and private chef come in on two separate evenings. Paul our sommelier was from Great Brittan and was well traveled with knowledge of both American and European wines. His 12 tastings from different regions adjacent to the Rhone River were delicious. The following night Chef Ronald came in to prepare a 4 course meal for our 50th birthday celebration. What a treat that was! He prepared an amazing meal for all of us...and the truffle au-gratin potatoes, were to die for! The other nights, we used the expansive kitchen which allowed us to cook some fast and easy meals with clean up being a breeze (for 12 people) with 2 dishwashers and 2 sinks!

The house was perfectly located to have wonderful day trips to a new place every day. Nathalie our concierge extraordinaire could not be more accommodating with her time, energy and suggestions on where to go.

It is a perfect place to share with good friends or family. Thank you again Karen and Terry for opening up your beautiful home to us and allowing us an adventure that will not soon be forgotten.

A fantastic property, well worth the money

  • 5 of 5

We had a group stay at Villa Fontaine for my husband's 40 birthday recently and absolutely loved it. The property is stunning, meticulously maintained, and had a lot of room for our group to spread out or come together. Terry and Karen could not have been more accommodating in helping us think through our trip and how to make the most of it. Nathalie brought amazing pastries every day, and cooked homemade pizzas for us in the wood fired oven by the pool that were spectacular. It was a bit tricky to find at first, but Karen gave us careful directions. They are wonderful hosts, and everyone in our group left wanting to stay longer and thinking of ways to come back another summer.

Wonderful place for a large group!

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful place to stay!

Hidden away but close to Aix, it is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed at - especially with a larger group.

We stayed at Villa Fontaine with 3 families, 12 people in total. The property is well suited for such a group. The garden is beautiful with more than plenty of room for all the kids to roam around and play any games they want. The pool and poolhouse are lovely - even if the water was still quite chilly in early May!

One night we made our own pizzas in the pizza oven which was good fun, AND very yummy to boot. The bedrooms are all very nice and the beds are very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need (having two dishwashers is very handy for a large group!), and we also used the BBQ, and one night even the fireplace when it was a bit chilly. The wine cellar is a lovely idea and allows you to try different wines especially if you are not too familiar with French wines - there is so much choice! We organised our own Kids Games and the kids did obstacle courses in the garden, races, penalty shoot-outs, water balloon fights by the pool, and more! :-)

The housekeeper Nathalie was there every day for a few hours and was most helpful with anything we wanted to ask or have her help us with. We definitely hope to be back at this villa in the future!

Owner's Response: This group consisted of three couples with six children from the Netherlands visiting to participate in the Ironman competition held each year in Aix . Initially I was concerned six children can be a handful. Karen and I were pleasantly surprised, it worked out beautifully. Lovely people, it was our pleasure to host them.
