The perfume of the carob and myrtle trees, the lemon and ancient olive groves, the heavy branches of lilac wisteria, the wild rosemary and an unforgettable view as far as the eye can see - this is the magical combination of Amalfi Coast nature to be discovered at House Oliver. House Oliver can accommodate two to five guests. The main bedroom has large wardrobes, safety-box and a full bathroom en-suite with shower and sea view. The lounge area, with its cool terracotta tiles and wide windows embracing the sea, has a color television and a two-seater sofa bed by Divani & Divani by Natuzzi. It is the perfect relaxing space to retire to after a day of enjoying the coast. The complete modern kitchen boasts a new oven with gas cook top and overlooks a cozy four-seat dining table. And why not a tinker on the antique piano after dinner? The bright dining area also comes with more of those luscious sea views.
There is also another bathroom with shower situated near the lounge area and House Oliver is also air-conditioned and a beautiful terrace with lemon trees, where you could admire an amazing sea view...
House Oliver is only ten minutes by foot to the centre of Amalfi where it is possible to choose between various fine-dining restaurants with accessible prices and true Mediterranean cooking.

This was our 4th trip to Italy and we were not disappointed. House Oliver was beyond beautiful. From the glass of Prosecco upon arrival to the espresso before departing, Oliver and Lella were the perfect hosts. The coffee, eggs, juice, yogurt and sweet breakfast biscuits and cakes provided for breakfast were much appreciated. We also took advantage of the affordable wine that Oliver stocks on a couple of nights when we found ourselves with the desire to have “just one more glass”. As others have said, the views from the patio are incredible. We enjoyed many a cup of coffee and glass of wine admiring the sea, boats, and hillsides. DO NOT HESITATE TO BOOK!
My wife and I were traveling with my mother and aunt. Having recently undergone hip surgery, the steps were a bit of challenge for my mother when we first arrived, but her strength grew steadily with daily exercise inspired by such beauty. The two rooms are quite separate, so both parties felt they had the privacy they needed, as well as a common room to chat, drink wine, and snack. All of us agreed that the mini-cruise with Oliver and Pietro was one of the highlights of the week. DEFINITELY GO!
You can read other reviews to learn more about the accommodations. I wanted to spend a little time discussing whether to rent a car or use a driver. Because we were traveling with my 78 year old mother and her sister, we rented a car. Parking in Salvator’s lot down the road worked out very well for us. We visited Ravello frequently, so having a car was convenient. We also drove into Maiori and Minori. That being said, if my wife and I were to stay at House Oliver again, we would probably have the driver pick us up at the airport and drive us when needed. A bus stop is near the villa, and though the road is busy, we would have enjoyed walking to Atrani (be sure to eat at Mistral), and Amalfi where one can catch a bus to Ravello. When you consider the cost of the car rental, gas and parking the cost is similar to paying for a driver occasionally. If you only used the driver to get to and from the airport, it would be less expensive than renting a car. The other thing to note is that the roads are narrow and winding. I personally found them fun to drive, but others might not.
Thank you once again for the lovely rose petals and candles winding from the front door to our bedroom to help us celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary! Hope to see you for our 40th.
Two couples rented this property for 4 night in early October. Read all the reviews to be able to glean details from each. For us, it was the perfect location from which to explore the coast, and our host Oliver was gracious and helpful both with the property and the region. (Lella was travelling, so we did not get the pleasure of meeting with her.)
Other guests used a car service - I drove a 4 door Peugeot wagon, and it is true that you need some bravery and confidence to drive the road along the coast and over the mountains. Lots of switchbacks! I only had to stop and reverse a couple of times to allow the non-budging buses to make the curves - and only brake a few times for the motorcycles to squeeze through small openings. The road is part of the charm!. We parked at Salvator's lot about 200 meters from the steps to Olivers, and it worked out well. We even took a drive to Pompeii for a day trip - something to not miss!
So many details have been thought of in the property - read them in other reviews. We primarily used the kitchen for breakfast using the provided foodstuffs, and for a few dinners (of restaurant leftovers) when too tired from the day's activities to go out. We spent a great deal of time in the morning and evening on the terrace overlooking Minori and Maiori - such a perfect view.
We decided to take the day cruise on the awesome boat captained by Oliver and crewed by Pietra - so glad we did. Stunningly beautiful scenery and superbly relaxing for our last day. Swam in the crystal blue waters of the Mediterranean for those of us to cared to jump in.
How we were able to find such a gem is beyond me. Grateful for the reviews on TripAdvisor to show us the way.
With all the wonderful reviews on this property one might suspect there is an ongoing contest for who can write the best review. Following a week at House Oliver it can be confirmed that each is spot on with their commentary. It is truly all that, and them some. This is a Bucket List place with a #1 ranking. Further, no amount of professional photography can possibly do it justice. The setting for this villa is too beautiful and too charming to be captured in a few photos. It must be see it in person. And then there is the view. Breathtaking is an understatement. It had me getting up early every morning just so I would not miss the sunrise and the old man. I'll let you figure out who the old man is. Our hosts, Oliviera and Lela, are the kind of people one wishes for as next door neighbors. They did not miss a single detail. Do yourself a huge favor and do not rent a car. Hire Claudio (Oliviera's recommendation) for first time transfer to House Oliver. While driving a rent car, one will not find this place on the first try. The coast road is not for the faint of heart. Though spectacular beyond your wildest dreams it has been accurately described as a prep site for Formula One. For daily coast travel the SITA bus is inexpensive and certainly convenient. For other excursions, take the ferry.
We were late arriving to House Oliver, but Oliver was there to greet me and my four girlfriends who were visiting for our 50th birthdays. Oliver is the kindest person, he had someone there to help with our bags and quickly showed us around the house and gardens. He took the time to answer all our questions and point out where to dine and explore. The house is loaded with extras that you just don't find in other VRBO's... eggs, milk, coffee, bread, pasta, veggies, etc. If that wasn't enough there is a lovely garden at our disposal. We made dinner for the five of us our first night there and breakfast the next morning. There were also several toiletry items which came in handy. The home is very comfortable with gorgeous views and cozy lounge areas in the garden. Oliver and Lella were incredibly kind and by the time we left we felt more like they were family than managers. I highly recommend house Oliver along with his driver, Claudio, and DO NOT miss out on the boat ride... unforgettable! Thank you Oliver and Lella for a memorable trip!!!
The view was brilliant from the Villa. Oliviero was personable brought us Proseco on our arrival, advised on the restaurants in nearby towns, fantastic recommendations! We really enjoyed the boat trip, took us to President's & Mrs. Kennedy's favorite restaurant. The views were great! Loved it!
Absolutely wonderful experience! Oliviero and Lella are exceptionally experienced and gracious hosts. Two couples stayed for six days in early May and could not have asked for a better time. We like to plan and do things on our own, but got great recommendations from Oliviero on car rental, restaurants, activities. We were met upon arrival and helped get settled. A local car rental and parking was easily arranged.
Oliviero greeted us with sparkling wine, smiles, and hospitality. The villa is actually part of a larger structure that spills down the hill. Your hosts are always available but never in the way and we never felt we were being "handled". The bedrooms are lovely and the views are to die for, even in stormy weather. The living room is small but we spent all our time on the patios.
A very relaxing and low-key week included everything we wanted to do and glad we had his suggestions. Walked in to Atrani to a wonderful locals restaurant. Drove up to Ravello to see Villa Cimbrone and Rufolo then hiked down. Oliviero arranged for a wine tasting at a lovely local winery where we joined the winemaker and family for lunch. Another night we had dinner with our new best friends, Oliviero and Lella and he even cooked for us. The true highlight for us was a wonderful cruise along the coast in Oliviero's boat! We enjoyed lots of wine and appetizers and then stopped for lunch at a hard to find waterfront locals restaurant. We have rented many homes and really think this is our favorite.
