Best VRBO and vacation experience of all!

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely loved, loved, loved our time with Pat. The property is unbelievably gorgeous, the accommodation is thoughtful and well curated, Pat is a dream (we loved her!) - perfect balance of helpfulness, inclusion, overall delightfulness and also letting us have our space to lounge and relax. Our days consisted of running in the beautiful natural areas, reading on lounge chairs around the property, swimming and jumping off the dock, taking 45 min drive into Portland and enjoying amazing food (Fore Street, where we had our anniversary dinner) and even book-shopping in downtown Brunswick. We have stayed at over 50 Airbnb/VRBOs and this is the FIRST one we've ever said "gosh, can we make this an annual thing? Can we vacation here every single year?". We will absolutely be back and couldn't rate this experience more highly!

Perfect Sea Kayaking Vacation Estate

  • 5 of 5

We stayed 8/28 through 9/1. We were two adults (Brian and Julie), one 10 year old boy (Charlie) and one 8 month old golden doodle (Buster). It took about 8 hours for us to drive there from Philadelphia. This property is located at the end of the secluded private road which is a half mile off of the quite main road. After driving through a forest of pine trees for a while, we were greeted by a cedar shingled cape code style home surrounded by blue sky and open grass field with park-like gardens. We walked around a guest house that had steep roofs and a balcony, which was bridged to the main house. Wow. We were suddenly standing on a garden hill looking down layers of islands floating in peaceful picturesque ocean coves. Gorgeous and unusual wild birds were spotted flying over water, diving for fish and resting on stumps in water. We continued to walk down a path carpeted with pine needles to a dock. A soft ocean breeze, gentle sunlight, and comfy Adirondack chairs were welcoming us. Charlie and Buster were off the leash echoing happy laughs and barks in the trees. We sat there letting our surroundings soak us through. Awww- We were at our dreamful vacation home.

Pat the owner & the gardener of the property is very responsive, very professional, yet personable. We felt we were at favorite rich Auntie’s house. The guest house where we stayed was perfect for our family providing a cozy atmosphere and making our vacation special. A thanks to Pat for having us.

When you arrive at the property you think that you are miles away from civilization when actually you are within 10 miles of a major grocery store and department store for any needs you may have.

In the morning be woken up by a screeching bald eagle. While in bed look up out the window to see deer grazing. Walk outside and be greeted by Pats dog Ranger.

The grounds are meticulously cared for and the owner Pat does what she can to make your stay a pleasant one.

Pat is so concerned about your privacy that one afternoon I received a text from her stating that she had to leave for the airport and would return around 1am. She was so concerned as not to wake us that she offered to park like 100 yards down the driveway and walk to the house!

The apartment is fully stocked and there is plenty of literature to leaf through to find day excursions. We discovered the Desert of Maine through those pamphlets (recommended it was interesting).

Any questions or concerns ask Pat. Ask her where you have a good chance of seeing a moose! We where talking on the day we left and that came up in conversation!

Bath is like the perfect location to see many sights. North you are only an hour away from Boothbay and 3 hrs from Bar Harbor while south you are less then an hour from Freeport and a little over an hour from Portland.

So if you can not stand peace and quiet and a host that cares about your needs and desires then this place is not for you☺.

If we visit Bath again we would stay at this property again.

Thanks Pat for opening your home so people can enjoy what Maine has to offer.

A cute studio apartment on a private peninsula

  • 5 of 5

I loved my week in Maine. The apartment was perfect for the two of us. I was looking to "get off the grid" and this wonderful location fit the bill. I loved the quiet seclusion of this property. I actually teared up when I drove up to the house and saw the setting and the view of the ocean. I enjoyed watching the tide go in & out. I liked how close it was to nearby points of interest. Pat was very accommodating. I hope to return!

Maine perfection

  • 5 of 5

My family of four with two 5-year old's couldn't have had a better time staying in Pat's sweet pad. Everything was just what we were looking for: clean, simple, peaceful and nice. The grounds are outstanding. Private and sublime. We saw a bald eagle within five minutes of arrival. As a host, Pat was ideal from my perspective. Very respectful of our privacy; we wouldn't have even known she was there if it weren't for my kids who were constantly pounding on her door trying to hang out with her. She's great and we left feeling like we made a new friend - which is not something we're necessarily looking for from a host. ;) So truly an unexpected pleasure.

In all, we were looking for a somewhat off the grid experience but with enough convenience that we felt we could truly relax and get away. We enjoyed cooking, barbeque, canoeing and Pat even took us out seal watching in her boat. CAn't recommend Pat's property enough. Hope to get back again at some point!
