This historic ranch is located within walking distance to Travelers Rest State Park and only ten minutes to Missoula. This cabin is filled with warmth and charm and is nestled in a world of its own with a great trout stream on the property. If you like beautiful mountain and river views, cool sunny days, nighttime skies filled with stars you will love the Childers Ranch.
Our private ranch offers excellent wade fishing. This section of the river has great fishing for cutthroat, brook, rainbow and brown trout. You will be amazed at the abundant wildlife. Wildlife abounds especially deer, turkey, hummingbirds and eagles. We also get the occasional moose.
Whether you enjoy lounging on the deck, exploring the property, or fishing this is a wonderful cabin for your family vacation. Come see for yourself what Montanans know to be a beautiful, breathtaking piece of heaven on earth.
This great cabin has two bedrooms and a den upstairs to sleep five comfortably. If you need room for additional quests, the downstairs level sleeps four and has its very own kitchen! Perfect for a large family or a relaxing getaway for a group of friends.
This will be your own private getaway since this cabin is the only one on the ranch. Can you hear the stream and the birds singing? Your group will enjoy a large yard to pursue outdoor activities and plenty of room to park a RV. This is what Montana is all about!
We rented the entire house and plenty of space. Two window units in the upstairs section and fans in the lower section.
Very spacious with plenty of sheets and towels, water pressure was low but it could be the cost effective shower head that makes it seem extra slow of course you want to ensure there is enough hot water for large groups during the winter times.
There is plenty of closed space in each room.
Wish we had better access to the river but still enjoyed throwing rocks into the water.
Outside patio was a nice addition to sit and relax at with a swinging bench to enjoy.
Two TVs upstairs and one in the downstairs with direct tv access on everyone.
Older house and great for outdoors adventures, there is an elk head mounted in the sitting area between levels.
You can get a good workout if you keep going up and down between levels.
Remember this is a ranch house and you may get some bugs.
We did get to see a turkey a few times and three white tailed deers wondered up to the barn area...a nice treat for the kids.
Grocery store and gas stations close by.
Missoula is 15 minutes away if you need more options in stores and dining.
Overall it took some getting use to since we had so much space to allow the kids to get lost. My 4 year old loved having his own house....one level was basically his to enjoy on his own.
Our group consisted of 4 adults and 5 kids ranging from 4-13 years old. We chose this location for its space to relax and take a few days off together.
