The neighborhood is very welcoming and friendly. Ask any neighbor for directions, their fav restaurants or anything you would like to know about New Orleans and they will gladly accommodate you.
There is a chef in the neighborhood that may even be willing to prepare a great New Orleans meal for dining in for a nominal fee.
We want to thank you for the great accommodations. The house worked out perfectly for our group of nine and was a great location! We were able to enjoy many parades!! It was a great 65th birthday celebration location!! We especially loved the courtyard!!!
Mike was very helpful and gave us many good pointers of things to do!!
Again thank you, and we will keep the Bouligny House in mind when we return to N'awlins!!
When I was looking for a place for two couples to stay for five days in New Orleans, I must have checked on 50 places and looked at hundred's of reviews. When I came across The Boulignay House, the reviews seemed just too good to be true. Luckily, I contacted the owner, Pat, and she assured me that the reviews were true and that renting her property would add to our experience in New Orleans. She was right on both counts! So, my advice to you is give The Boulignay House a try. I do want to say that there are a couple of issues to consider. First of all, parking can be a challenge, especially if you have more than one vehicle. Secondly, the bathrooms are a little unique - we found showering in a claw foot tub to be a little challenging. Don't forget to eat at Horn's restaurant on the corner - it is delightful!
Do not hesitate to explore this option when booking your New Orleans vacation. Pat's home on Dauphine Street is absolutely amazing. Our host Michael was there promptly to let us in and show us the home. He also mentioned local eateries and places to visit on our stay. We had a group of 8 plus a baby and we had plenty of room. The home is much bigger than the pictures show. The neighborhood is lovely and safe, just a block from Frenchman Street, where we caught some great bands. We parked our car and never used it the entire stay. Everything was in walking distance or a short walk to the trolley. Thank you Pat and Michael for making our stay so wonderful. We love your city!
Had a great time in this spacious property. Ideal for large groups (we were 8). The back of the house is the best - a large kitchen connected to a large living room with plenty of seating, and double doors leading to a private courtyard.
The Marigny is a lovely neighborhood too. With any luck, you may even catch a parade dancing down the street in front of the house.
There is a very convenient spot just on the corner for breakfast and much needed Bloody Mary's.
Frenchman Street and The French Quarter are short walks away.
It's all good.
This house was great we were close to everything. We really enjoyed sitting in front stairs talking to great neighbors. The house it self had plenty of room for the 7 of us to be together when we wanted and apart when we needed! Check in and out with manager Michael was fast, easy and informative. Thanks for every thing we are hoping to be back soon!
The Bouligny House was wonderful!
It was perfect for our group, such a beautiful home! I spent 4 nights in Nola with a group for my fiance's 30th birthday and the house exceeded our expectations. There was plenty of room and privacy for the 8 of us - 3 couples and 2 single ladies, who each took a trundle bed. The location was amazing, super central and walking distance to Frenchman St, Bourbon St, and even the Bywater. Mike the caretaker was great, gave us local recommendations & made sure the AC was working properly - which was key in the 95 degree June heat! The backyard was huge and lovely. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in Nola!
We traveled from Boston to New Orleans to celebrate my youngest sister's birthday. There were four couples total, and our original plan to keep costs down was to split two hotel rooms between us. We are SO glad we decided to rent the Bouligny House instead! Pricing honestly wasn't much more than what we were looking at for two hotel rooms but here, each couple had their own room and much more space for our 4 day stay! The courtyard was a great little area to hang out and the air conditioning inside the house was a great way to cool off between adventures around the city. The neighborhood is nice and quiet and felt very safe, even at night and the house was easy walking distance to a lot of the main attractions of the city (Frenchman Street, Bourbon Street, Jackson Square etc). The house had pretty much everything you would need, including shampoo and soap in all of the showers (bring your own conditioner if you use it!), plenty of towels and extra bed sheets, and a fully stocked kitchen if you plan on making meals. Pat, the owner was great to work with leading up to our trip and was very responsive with any questions we had, and Michael the property manager was super helpful once we were there. I would definitely recommend this rental to anyone heading to NOLA!
