Perfect for wedding weekend in Red Hook!
Exactly as advertised this is definitely a "Charming Village Getaway". My boyfriend and I booked the apartment to spend the weekend in Red Hook for our friend's wedding. The owner was quick to respond to our inquiries and made the transaction hassle free. This is a garden level apartment under the main house. It's very clean and exactly as advertised. There has been a lot of attention to the details and nice small touches that make it very homey (like the writing desk with stationary, a kitchen with handy items like a cork-screw and bathroom products in case you forgot something). Although the owners are right upstairs they unobtrusive and friendly. It was so much better than most of the other options I found in the Red Hook area and other wedding guests who stopped by loved it and wished they had found it! Worked out perfect since we were able to walk to town for an incredible dinner at Mercato (which is just down at the end of Cherry St.) and from there we walked to a local pub to meet others for the pre-wedding day party! It couldn’t have worked out better. Highly recommended if you find need for accommodation in Red Hook, NY!!!
Perfect Retreat for Rest and Exploration!
I had the pleasure of spending two weeks on retreat at this lovely property in late September/early October, a beautiful time to watch the colors emerge and partake of the region's celebrations of autumn. My hosts were welcoming, responsive, helpful and all-around great. The description is exactly what I found upon arriving and the apartment is cozy, very pleasant, and sweet. I was traveling alone, but I expect to return with my husband at some time in the future; the location is ideal as it is so close to the Red Hook town center and yet the feeling of country pervades. The two outdoor sitting areas are a plus, and with coffee cup in hand, you can listen to the birds and enjoy the crickets at night. I definitely recommend this as a gem to settle into for a weekend, and longer!
Charming is exactly right!
We stayed at VRBO Listing #93566 in Red Hook July 16-18 and found that it was a delightful place to stay. We had looked for Bed and Breakfasts, but they were all booked and this was so much better. It is a peaceful retreat but is very close to the shops and restaurants in Red Hook. The owner was very helpful and the apartment was very clean with fresh flowers as a nice welcoming touch. There are lots of towns in close proximity to visit as well. We visited Rhinebeck and Hudson looking at antiques and enjoyed both. We were walking distance from the Mercato restaurant where we had a delicious dinner. We would definitely recommend staying here.
