This private 2 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment sleeps 4 adults or 5 person family and is within 200 meters to Kailua Beach Park. Your comfortable accommodations include large bedrooms with air conditioning and cable television. Accommodations include internet, cable TV with large LCD TV, and beach accessories. The two bedroom unit has washer/dryer, private entrance and its own access to the beach road which is a 2 minute walk to Kailua Beach. There are kayak and surfboard rentals, food, groceries, and shops all within a 3 minute walk from the house. This apartment is part of a newly built house and is extremely clean and tastefully decorated. Most beach accessories are included and we have access to most baby rental equipment you may need.
This was our first visit to Hawaii and it was a great experience. We drove all over the island and Kailua is definitely the best place to stay in our opinion. The apartment was just a short walk from the beach and very comfortable. We would return again!
Great place to stay. Very private and located in convenient part of town. Lived up to the pictures and description. Very thoughtfully provisioned and decorated. Many extra nice touches. The AC was especially appreciated. I would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it for a lovely Hawaiian vacation!
This immaculately clean, safe, quiet apartment was perfectly located for daily treks to the beach and enjoying simple local amenities like the nearby market or steak house. Kailua Beach Park is visible, and only a short walk (a few minutes), from the back gate making it possible to enjoy coffee and the sunrise before breakfast, or a short sunset walk before dinner. The layout of the apartment -- two bedrooms separated by the living area - offered privacy for our group of friends traveling together. All the basic necessities for cooking and making a vacation "home" were available. Hosts Kara and Tom were present and responsive, but not intrusive. I would absolutely return to this property and highly recommend it for those seeking a comfortable and affordable beachside location.
This apartment's back gate is about a block from one of the best beaches in the U.S. (Kailua Beach), and a 20-minute walk from another of America's best beaches (Lanikai Beach). It's about a 2-minute walk from a small market, a very good restaurant, kayak/board rentals, shave ice and more, and a brief bike ride (in bike lanes, on bikes provided by the landlord) from downtown Kailua. And it's a 30-minute drive from Waikiki and an easy drive away from the North Shore. The unit is a great base for not only enjoying Kailua and it's surrounds, but also exploring the island.
The owners, who live above the apartment, were remarkably responsive via email, phone and text message, both before and during our stay. Though we didn't have any emergencies, it was good to know they were paying attention, and their answers to our questions about restaurants, boards, etc., were very helpful.
The apartment is spacious, private, clean, quiet, comfortable and well-equipped. The beds are great, and there are plenty of towels and pillows, as well as the necessary small and large appliances. My adult daughter and I had everything we needed (except for a few minor items that I'll mention to the owners).
I'd rent this apartment again in a heartbeat. I hope to return with my husband next time.
Just returned from a relaxing two month stay. We were 4 adults staying in the home and never once felt as if we were on top of each other. The kitchen is huge with full size refrigerator, stove and washer and dryer. Having your own washer and dryer was a plus. We used the grill most nights and found the kitchen equipped with everything we needed to make gourmet meals.
The A/C units in the bedrooms work well although we did not use them much as the weather was perfect. Lots of closet and drawer space. The bathroom is quite large and there were plenty of towels and wash cloths as well as nice large beach towels.
Location is everything and this home will not disappoint. You walk out the back gate and are about 150 feet away from Kailua Beach Park. Beautiful Lanikai Beach is nearby as well as Lanikai Pillbox Hike. Kailua has great farmers markets on Thursday and Sunday. The fresh produce and flowers are amazing.
Can't thank the owners enough for sharing this home with us. We found them to be extremely friendly and available if we had questions or needed anything. We are already talking about the next time we visit Kailua and would definitely stay here again.
This place is big! The kitchen is full size as is the bathroom. There is a back gate exit and only one property to beach! Close to deli/market and beach toy rental. The beds are awesome as are the bed linens - can tell the owners picked out quality in this area.
Pros - parking, close to beach, near by deli, air in rooms, lots of fans, Internet, beach towels, close to town, nice owners who answered promptly, beach chairs, washer and dryer, patio furniture with grill, lovely plumeria trees wish we had seen more blooms but wasn't time of year, close to Macy's (haha), easy to access and one level which is plus for older people (we travel with my mom), large unit
Suggestions for refinements -
Maybe add another type of seat in living room. Circle chair hard to maneuver especially if you are older. Maybe pay a little attention to providing some essentials in bathroom and for laundry.
