Peaceful photographers retreat with never-ending views and wildlife
Scott and Tammy provided a perfect cabin retreat for our Montana vacation goal of photographing elk and other wildlife. The views from this cabin are breathtaking, east sunrise is a treat. Hiking around the ranch allowed us access to up close experience with elk, mule deer and black bears, along with ranch life and cattle. Our hosts showed us the ranch and best locations to view wildlife. The size of the ranch left us massive areas to hike and discover, even up to the top of the highest point. We spent the entirety of most days outdoors, so having a cabin to start and end the day in, with comfortable beds, hot shower, complete kitchen and relaxing patio allowed us ample time to explore and photograph, then return "home" for dinner and quiet evenings. A dream location for us, and we hope to return.
It was awsome, I recommend it for anyone!
Ideal in its isolation
If you want to get away from it all, this is the place! It's a long drive on a dusty gravel road to get to this ranch cabin but once you get there, the expansive view is amazing. Who knew watching cattle could be so entertaining? The hosts are very attentive and the cabin had plenty of room for our family of four.
The only things that detracted from our stay there was the heat which was nobody's fault and the shower situation. It was in the 80s and 90s and with no air conditioning in the cabin, it was rather uncomfortable during the day. The host had brought in several fans for us which helped but its something to consider if planning a stay in the middle of the summer. The only bathroom in the house is large, but the shower/bath combo is difficult to get into. The tub is a large, jetted one (which is normally a good thing) but you have to climb up over a tall, wide ledge to step into it and because it had stationary, sliding glass doors on it, the space is hard to maneuver for anyone with mobility issues and/or short legs.
Overall, however, we would recommend this cabin as a very relaxing getaway spot!
So glad you enjoyed the highlights of the cabin and the ranch! After one full summer of renting out the cabin, we could not agree more about the lack of cool air! We are looking into our options for an air conditioning unit to provide additional comfort for our guest in the 2019 summer season.
Peaceful with breathtaking views
What an amazing retreat from the busy-ness of the rest of the world! We stayed here for a few days and left refreshed and relaxed. The cabin is clean, comfortable, and quiet, and the views are breathtaking! We traveled backroads photographing wildlife and wildflowers, and we even spent one day driving the Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park. We will definitely be back! Thank you, Scott and Tammy, for this perfect piece of Montana.
Absolutely spectacular views.
Absolutely spectacular views. Really enjoyed this very private getaway. If you want to escape reality spend a weekend in this lovely gem of a house .Theviews of the valley are absolutely spectacular. You might even be lucky enough to see a bear and elk or some deer. Truly a great spot for those who like to get away from it all and have a wonderful place to hike and relax
