This West End home is absolutely amazing! Just came back from a weekend getaway with 8 people. There was plenty of room for everyone. The house itself is well maintained and has a good lay out. The third floor shower is absolutely fantastic! The house is very close to neighbors on either side, but that's pretty standard in Ptown. The outdoor deck is very nice and the beach access is perfect!
Some cons: (there were VERY few)
1. Like other reviewers have stated the third floor bedroom does not have a door. The way the room is set up it would be difficult to install one so I understand why they haven't. Anyone staying on the third floor can be heard throughout the majority of the rest of the house.
2. The tree branches on the trees on the terrace outside are really low, and people kept running into them trying to stand up or walk by. Again, not a major issue.
3. For those people who want to be close to the center of things it is about a 10-15 min walk into the part of commercial street where things are happening. (Not a big deal for us AT ALL - we love the area in the west end - just a heads up for others).
Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this property!
The property is gorgeous, with most amenities you'd need to enjoy yourself. Awesome patio to enjoy the outside.
We rent in Ptown every year so are used to what the area has to offer. This a beautiful, well appointed, very large home with plenty of space to relax and entertain in. The bedrooms are nice and spacious, there are areas throughout the home to relax or 'get away' a little bit, and the location is excellent.
The main deck are is large enough to entertain on and offered direct beach access. A table out on the deck would be a nice add on so you can eat outside but there was plenty of casual seating out there for us. While you do have your own private deck space, you actually share the overall back area with two other cottages that are between the home and the water. Originally, this was built as a single compound and is now three separate units. The owner kept in touch and was easily reached and super nice and accommodating.
Two things to note 1. There is zero parking at the home which could be an issue for some but there is a municipal lot literally three doors down so we had no problems. 2. The master on the third floor has no door; it's setup so the stairs lead directly into the room. Again, we had no issue as we were staying with close friends, but some might desire more privacy. The air conditioning is three zones (one for each floor) and we were worried it may got hot on the third floor but it was an excellent system that kept the temp very comfortable.
Overall, it was a great high end rental and we were glad we stayed there!
This house is gorgeous and very well located. We had a great time.
1. Master bedroom is the whole third floor, and as such there is no door to it and no privacy. This makes it so that you can hear everything in the house from up there. The room is also clearly for a couple so it's doubly frustrating not to have privacy.
2. The beds in the other rooms CAN sleep 2 but are pretty small so sharing them can be awkward with a platonic friend.
3. The house could use more beach towels.
4. There is no parking spot close to the house (there is one a 10 minute walk away, but that isn't really helpful). There's a pay lot nearby which is ok.
1. Everything else! House is beautiful, well located and very serene to be at. Charmingly decorated on the inside too.
2. Owners were very nice and helpful, answered all questions without any hassle.
Overall I'd highly recommend!
We loved our week in this wonderful house. A well equipped, spacious kitchen, leading to a terrific outdoor space, a master bedroom with a water view and a fabulous bathroom, lovely indoor spaces for relaxing and easy outdoor access to the bay. We had family members in various rentals all around P'town but everyone wanted to gather at our house.
I stayed at the main residence over Memorial Day weekend with 6 other friends and had a wonderful time! The home is spacious, warm, and very inviting. While everyone in the group was happy to have their own private bedroom space, we thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent congregated in the common areas. We had many "family meals" around the large kitchen area and enjoyed coffee in the mornings outside on the sprawling patio area. Staying here gave us the best of both worlds - we could enjoy the quiet, peaceful serenity of the West End ocean side, while only being a short walk away from the bustling downtown area. Although mother nature was not on our side the entire weekend, we couldn't have asked for a better place to take shelter from the rain.
David was a pleasure to work with and was very accommodating every step of the way. My group especially appreciated his responsiveness. Due to a delivery delay, we were without an outdoor grill the first night. David bought a new grille immediately and had his property manager deliver and assemble it first thing the next morning.
I would definitely recommend staying here! It's a gem!
