Why Michael Smith chose Forest Highlands
Our house was built by my grandfather in 1950 after he served in the 101st Airborne durning WWII. The studio apartment that we renovated was their original house before they built the rest(where we live) a few years later. It meant so much to my grandfather and my mother that they keep the house in the family, and luckily we were in need of a house!
What makes this Apartment unique
This has to be one of the most unique properties within the city limits of Portland. The house rests on two acres surrounded by Tryon Creek State Park. Its kind of like have a forever back yard. We have made good use out the 160' Doug Fir trees by putting up a 80' and a 320' ziplines. We also have an 80' swing!

Great hosts. Great place. Very convenient to Lewis & Clark workshop we attended. Also very easy to get into downtown Portland. If weather had been better it would have been a great place to go hiking in Tryon Creek Park.
A lovely place. The place was clean. The owner responsive to questions and requests. The wood stove was the selling point for me. Enjoyed reading next to the fire on a rainy evening. We enjoyed the near by park as well as being close to Portland.
sweet cozy space with a firebox!
Because this space is attached to the owner’s home, staying here was super simple - even though we needed to arrive in the middle of the night. The space is comfy with a little wood burning stove. and the owners even provide a video tutorial (and the wood)to get a fire going.
Stylish comfy cabin in the woods
Loved this studio at the edge of the state park. Stylish, hand-crafted details and all the comforts. So convenient to the park, Lewis & Clark College, and Lake Oswego. The host family are lovely!
Tucked away, green, beautiful, private
We had a wonderful stay. Michael and Kelly are great, sweet and generous hosts. The apartment is layed out beautifully, extremely comfortable, and has all you need. Also it’s location is amazing, at the edge of a State Park- gorgeous! Would definitely come back!
