Lake Worth Studio Rental Photos and Description

Two separate studios, each with queen bed, full bath and kitchen

Ours is a charming historic private waterfront home in a lovely quiet neighborhood. Guests have total privacy, but my husband and I live on the premises, providing enhanced security and happily meeting whatever needs might arise for our guests! Enter through a luxurious garden filled with fruit trees, tropicals, and orchids. Filled with art and antiques and light, both second story studios catch our fresh ocean breezes. OUR CALENDAR CAN ONLY REFLECT BOOKINGS FOR ONE OF THESE ACCOMMODATIONS, SO PLEASE ALWAYS CHECK WITH US DIRECTLY FOR AVAILABILITY. In Tarasita Cottage, our pet guest unit, the spacious high ceilinged main room has more windows than walls, and a full kitchen, full bath, and walk-in closet. The roof deck, with comfortable chairs and umbrellas, is perfect for reading and relaxing outside. Taralago Suite is very similar except that it is not available for pet guests, and it does not have a full size stove/oven, but a convection toaster oven, microwave, electric cooktop, and outdoor charcoal grill. It is suitable for light cooking. It does have a large private deck overlooking the Intracoastal/Lake Worth. This is a wonderful retreat place, but still close to everything! Walking and biking are popular in the neighborhood and one can do either to reach downtown amenities or the beach. We have bicycles and golf clubs for our guests. Kayak off our private beach. Watch osprey, kingfishers, pelicans, parrots, and wading birds. Downtown Lake Worth is eight blocks away and is filled with charming shops and restaurants, plus the Bamboo Room (a world class blues club). Many of the cafes have outdoor tables and are dog friendly!

Lake Worth beach has a great open air restaurant bar and a gorgeous new pier for fishing or just ogling the beach goers. Feb. 25th and 26th is the annual Lake Worth Street Painting Festival - a great weekend happening! Other nearby (no more than an hour's drive) attractions include Roger Dean Stadium, home of spring training for the Florida Marlins and the St. Louis Cardinals; the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens, home to a world class bonsai collection; Palm Beach International Equestrian Center, home of the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival (Jan 11- April 1); Palm Beach Polo Club (polo season Jan 29 - April 2); the Norton Museum of Art; Palm Beach itself and famous Worth Ave for primo shopping; Sawgrass Mills Mall (over 350 outlet stores) for bargain shopping; Lion Country Safari, a drive through African game park; off-shore drift fishing; Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino; Miami Beach!

About Kathleen Holmes

Kathleen is a visual artist and writer; Lou is a professional theatre director and producer. We love Florida living, particularly dear, sweet, funky Lake Worth. We also love good food, good wine, good friends, and good dogs!! We feel blessed to live in such a great area and enjoy sharing it with travelers from around the world.

Kathleen Holmes purchased this studio in 2010

Why Kathleen Holmes chose Lake Worth

We have lived in Lake Worth for over 20 years, and finally were able to get a 1924 fixer upper on the water. As with houses of this vintage, the renovation is never really done, but we love the process. The garden has been especially rewarding to create - it's becoming a tropical paradise. Sunrises and moon rises over the lake are a lovely reward for all the hard work!

What makes this studio unique

For probably 350 days of the year we are blessed with breezes right off the Atlantic Ocean, so even in summer, there is usually a cool breeze, especially in the evening.

Accommodations, hosts & town are beyond charming

  • 5 of 5

The property is far more lovely than described in the listing. The accommodations were clean, comfortable and well appointed. The owners did a great job of answering questions before, during and after my stay. I would highly recommend this property to family and friends. The town (within walking distance) has several good restaurants & bars.

Beautiful and Peaceful

  • 5 of 5

We arrived very late from the airport but Kathleen made sure the lights were on and our arrival went smoothly. The grounds and vegetation were tropical and lush, the views of the Intracoastal from our balcony were fabulous, and the host and hostess very welcoming and accommodating. This is a truly unique property close to downtown Lake Worth yet secluded in an area of nice beach front properties, and is a short drive to West Palm Beach and Boynton Beach. We stayed in Taralago on the second floor, which faces directly over the pool and out to the Lake and Intracoastal. There is a nice private patio with couch and umbrella right outside your door. The kitchen has a full size refrigerator and a table top cooking area. I wouldn't undertake any substantial cooking on the table top but you have access to a grill if you wanted to grill something. The bedroom area and overall feeling of the rooms is light and breezy and nicely decorated. They have a very nice dock with sitting area that we spent quite a bit of time on as well. A truly lovely setting. When reading other reviews prior to selecting Taralago, I saw all 5 star ratings which I can now confirm are on the mark. The next time we visit the Palm Beach area, we will definitely look here first!

Owner's Response: Thanks for the lovely and generous review, Jerry and Cristy! We truly look forward to your next visit. Thank you again for the the fishing rod, and the knowledge that there is indeed fun fishing to be had off of our dock. The next happy hour out there is on us!! Kathleen & Lou

Lovely setting, beautiful place, wonderful hosts

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at Tarasita for two months with two small dogs while house hunting in the area. For one person, the place was spacious, beautiful, and so comfortable. The neighborhood is gorgeous, great for walking the dogs with two nearby parks right on the on the Intracoastal.

Kathleen and Louie are amazing hosts. They are both accomplished artists and just fun! Kathleen was extremely flexible when I changed my arrival and departure dates, went out of her way to make my stay as comfortable as possible, and even walked my dogs when I was out all day looking at houses. I feel like I've made new friends in Lake Worth. Highly recommended!

Fresh, cozy, with great outdoor setting.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at Tarasita for a week to get out of winter and to attend a family reunion. It was adorable and perfect!!! It was close enough to my family to be convenient, but when we needed to get away, it was cozy and quiet, just what we wanted. Lots of windows and natural light gave it a fresh airy feel too. We are walkers and the neighborhood was great for that; wide quiet streets and lots of great houses and gardens to look at, plus a pretty park with exercise stations to work off all those family meals. Our hosts were excellent too. We have already made plans to come back to Tarasita next winter!

Fantastic and infinitely charming.

  • 5 of 5

I had another great stay at Tarasita. This is probably my fourth of fifth visit and each is as spectacular as the first. Cozy and comfortable accommodations, great original artwork adorning the room, a lovely visual landscape outside, and spectacularly kind and generous hosts. The privacy element is a big thing to me and it was always respected. And on occasions where I was social with my hosts, I enjoyed them thoroughly. A walkable park, a spectacular dock on which to sip my morning coffee, or tip a glass of wine as I watched the sun fade. I can't wait to go back. It's everything you would hope for. Carter W. Lewis.

Lake Worth is a charming old resort town on the Intracoastal Waterway and one bridge away from the Atlantic Ocean beach. Downtown Lake Worth is filled with small locally owned bars, restaurants with indoor and outdoor dining, antique and other shops, live music, outdoor festivals, and a municipal golf course. There is a Starbucks. Ours is a quiet pedestrian and bike friendly neighborhood with constant tropical breezes. The intracoastal / lake is a mile wide here; at night, the lights from the buildings across the way make for as lovely a vista as there is during the day. Wading birds, pelicans, and the occasional manatee add to the natural beauty.
