Bright and breezy studio, with queen bed, full bath and kitchen, outdoor deck
Ours is a charming historic private waterfront home in a lovely quiet neighborhood. Guests have total privacy, but my husband and I live on the premises, providing enhanced security and happily meeting whatever needs might arise for our guests! Enter through a luxurious garden filled with fruit trees, tropicals, and orchids. Filled with art and antiques and light, the second story studio catches our fresh ocean breezes. In Tarasita Cottage the spacious high ceilinged main room has more windows than walls, and a full kitchen, full bath, and walk-in closet. The roof deck, with comfortable chairs, umbrellas and gas grill is perfect for reading and relaxing outside. This is a wonderful retreat place, but still close to everything! Walking and biking are popular in the neighborhood and one can do either to reach downtown amenities or the beach. We have bicycles and golf clubs for our guests. Kayak off our private beach. Watch osprey, kingfishers, pelicans, parrots, and wading birds. Downtown Lake Worth is eight blocks away and is filled with charming shops and restaurants. Many of the cafes have outdoor tables and are dog friendly!
Lake Worth beach has a great open air restaurant bar and a gorgeous new pier for fishing or just ogling the beach goers. Feb. 25th and 26th is the annual Lake Worth Street Painting Festival - a great weekend happening! Other nearby (no more than an hour's drive) attractions include Roger Dean Stadium, home of spring training for the Florida Marlins and the St. Louis Cardinals; the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens, home to a world class bonsai collection; Palm Beach International Equestrian Center, home of the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival (Jan 11- April 1); Palm Beach Polo Club (polo season Jan 29 - April 2); the Norton Museum of Art; Palm Beach itself and famous Worth Ave for primo shopping; Sawgrass Mills Mall (over 350 outlet stores) for bargain shopping; Lion Country Safari, a drive through African game park; off-shore drift fishing; Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino; Miami Beach!

About Kathleen Holmes
Kathleen is a visual artist and writer; Lou is a professional theatre director and producer. We love Florida living, particularly dear, sweet, funky Lake Worth. We also love good food, good wine, good friends, and good dogs!! We feel blessed to live in such a great area and enjoy sharing it with travelers from around the world.
Kathleen Holmes purchased this Studio in 2010
Why Kathleen Holmes chose South Palm Park Neighborhood Association
We have lived in Lake Worth for over 20 years, and finally were able to get a 1924 fixer upper on the water. As with houses of this vintage, the renovation is never really done, but we love the process. The garden has been especially rewarding to create - it's becoming a tropical paradise. Sunrises and moon rises over the lake are a lovely reward for all the hard work!
What makes this Studio unique
For probably 350 days of the year we are blessed with breezes right off the Atlantic Ocean, so even in summer, there is usually a cool breeze, especially in the evening.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tarasita. Kathleen and Lou were terrific. The extra touches of cookies and fresh fruit were beyond expectation. A very nice, quaint, and quiet retreat. Absolutely, will stay again
Our Newest Favorite Place in Lake Worth!!
Every time we stay in one of Kathleen's rentals, we think it is the best one yet! Honestly though, they are all fabulous. We visit regularly for work and family, and Kathleen's places always make us feel like we are home. It's fun to add another favorite to our list. Whatever kind of accommodation you are looking for, Kathleen and Lake Worth have it!
Thanks again and again - see you next time!!!!
Beautiful Studio - Perfect Location
We recently enjoyed our second visit to Tarasita. This well-equipped studio has abundant light and a pleasant patio with comfortable seating and a new gas grill. The location is perfect - only a few blocks away from Bryant Park and a pleasant walk to downtown Lake Worth. We enjoyed reading in the fenced yard overlooking the Intracoastal/Lake Worth. Kathleen and Lou are wonderful hosts, even taking care of our two golden retrievers while we took a day trip with friends. We've already booked a return stay next year, when we hope to find time to use the bicycles and kayaks.
Thanks so much, Mike and Eleanor and Reggie and Chloe! We look forward to seeing you all again next year. xxoo
We loved it !
This was my second stay at this charming and cozy little apartment in a lush tropical garden setting. The warm welcome made me feel like coming home—away from home! The owners are super hosts and attentive to every need . Thank you Kathleen and Lou !
Completely exceeded my hopes and expectations!
Clean and comfortable, beautiful garden setting,, responsive and respectful hosts. Close to the beach and downtown, loved charming little Lake Worth. No need to go anywhere else but here. The perfect getaway.
A delicious haven!
My partner and I came for a long weekend and couldn't have found a better spot! The studio is even better than the photos, sunny and surrounded by lush tropical vegetation, quiet and relaxing. Kathleen made us feel totally at home, inviting us to use the pool and dock. We walked to downtown with our dog where there are lots of dog friendly cafes. We loved cute Lake Worth and will be back soon!!!
Lake Worth is a charming old resort town on the Intracoastal Waterway and one bridge away from the Atlantic Ocean beach. Downtown Lake Worth is filled with small locally owned bars, restaurants with indoor and outdoor dining, antique and other shops, live music, outdoor festivals, and a municipal golf course. There is a Starbucks. Ours is a quiet pedestrian and bike friendly neighborhood with constant tropical breezes. The intracoastal / lake is a mile wide here; at night, the lights from the buildings across the way make for as lovely a vista as there is during the day. Wading birds, pelicans, and the occasional manatee add to the natural beauty. Other Activities: kayaking
