Sunset Vista Hotel Suiters - 306-S
All things listed below are things the housekeeper or maintenance would see at a glance (we have pictures supporting our comments).
Please note that once you have paid for this LUXURY rental you are stuck. If it had been associated and/or managed by the property we would have requested a new room. We did not call the hotline because we did not want a crew in our room for a day or more during our vacation. We cleaned what was necessary for us to enjoy our time but do not want others to experience what we did. Everything except the noise was avoidable.
• This property is “Sunset Vista HOTEL Suites”. It is not marketed by the property managers as a condo or condo type property. We learned this from the transient environment and the front desk confirmed that they were a “hotel”.
o Parking under building. Cars horns honk day and night as guests lock their cars.
o Hotel workers move dumpsters and other carts which you can clearly hear usually in the very early morning.
o The suite is at an angle towards the street. This allows you to hear every large truck, car and motorcycle that goes by clearly!
o Weddings and they have a lot according to the front desk. Not an issue until a drunk is arguing and screaming under the building in the parking area between 1am and 3am in the morning.
o Refrigerator. The motor when it turns off makes a LOUD noise. We thought it was people dumping trash (outside the door) and was stunned when we realized it was the fridge. This happens every time, day and night the fridge motor shuts off.
• Cleanliness (or lack of upon entering the suite):
o Fecal matter in the main bathroom toilet.
o Counter in master bathroom was never cleaned before we entered, dirty! There were hair pins on the counter which confirms the lack of cleaning.
o Cushions on dining chairs so stained and dirty we put towels on them before sitting.
o Knife holder in the kitchen looks to have never been cleaned. Covered with oil and dust so that it appears to be growing mold…
o Dryer was full of sand. We spent an hour running the dryer and vacuuming the sand so we could use the dryer.
o Floor may have had the center vacuumed but they are dirty.
• Window coverings:
o The verticals in the second bedroom are bent but overall do not fit the window to block light. This is important because this window faces the courtyard which is well lit at night therefore the bedroom is well lit.
o The verticals in the main area have some broken slats.
• Master bath
o Plumbing is corroded and out from the wall. Has the appearance of what I would expect in a cheap old motel.
o Cannot take a bath, no stopper.
Due to the fabulous location, amenities and setting, Sunset Vistas is a very active and popular location. There are a good number of Guests enjoying the property, and of course, there are vehicles and activity all around the property. We do understand how sometimes there can be disturbances to Guests, as there would be in any popular beachfront location. The Sunset Vistas condos is an extremely well maintained property, and all cleaning crews are exceptional. We do take all Guest comments seriously, and everything mentioned in this review has been investigated and corrected if necessary. We do have a 24hr line available to all Guests, and any shortcomings with cleaning or maintenance can be taken care of immediately. We will be speaking with our cleaning staff to be sure that, in the future, our home is spotless. We're very glad that you were able to still enjoy your stay, and hope that we may be able to host you again!
We stayed in 306s at Sunset Vistas and loved our stay. The condo had everything we needed and ITrip helped us out with anything we needed
nice place to stay
Girls Trip 2017
Explore pristine Florida beaches in the St. Petersburg area, home to Madeira Beach and Treasure Island. Pick from houses, condos and cottages, and get ready to enjoy sugar white sand and warm breezes. Vacations in the St. Petersburg area offer abundant outdoor recreation – on and off the water – a lively arts scene, and award-winning restaurants.
Madeira Beach, located west of St. Petersburg is home to John's Pass Village and Boardwalk, a fun attraction for all ages. John's Pass, or the Pass to locals, offers top dining and nightlife options, family-friendly attractions, shopping and water sports. While walking the 1,100-foot boardwalk, see alligators at The Alligator Attraction and dolphins playing in the Gulf's waters. Walk into dozens of unique shops that sell everything from beachwear to shells to find the perfect souvenir or gift.
Madeira Beach's restaurants welcome family and friends to try the fresh local flavor. Many top-rated restaurants at the Pass feature entertainment, specials and events as well. The Seafood Festival at John's Pass – held annually in October – hosts more than 100,000 guests to celebrate food, music, and arts and crafts.
Water lovers can parasail, rent jet skis or deep-sea fish to complete their beach vacation. John's Pass is also a popular fishing destination and brings in more grouper than any other place in Florida. Visitors can also relax while birdwatching, boating and canoeing, all within easy access of their vacation rental.
Treasure Island – adjacent to St. Petersburg – is another favorite beach town in Florida. Swim, snorkel, fish, parasail and shell at this hot spot, which was named from an early hotel owner who buried and discovered treasure chests on the beach.
Known as a secret spot for sunsets, Treasure Island's 3 miles of beaches serve as the perfect place to watch the sun set over the Gulf of Mexico with someone special. Treasure Island also offers guests fun-filled attractions and things to do, paired with restaurants serving everything from breakfast to fresh seafood dinners.
Other popular attractions in the St. Petersburg area include the award-winning Salvador Dali Museum and Fort De Soto Park, the largest park within the Pinellas County Park System, measuring more than 1,100 acres.
