Awesome quiet place to stay in Sonoma

  • 5 of 5

Very happy with the place and the owners are exceptional. If your looking for a nice quiet get away this is the place to stay. We were visiting for our anniversary and we couldn't ask for a more appropriate place to stay. Nice and up to date just a couple of cabinets that aren't perfect but we didn't spend much time in the kitchen . The patio area needed just a little bit of cleaning because of the fall leaves but no big deal for us. Pet friendly which was a plus for us.

Awesome cottage in Sonoma!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend and it was absolutely perfect. We went to Napa (20 mins away) and Healdsburg (1hr away) during our stay and it was a perfect landing spot. We enjoyed using the VW bug one night to go to dinner at The Girl and The Fig -- it was so fun!! It's hard not to have fun in wine country, and this place made it very easy to relax and enjoy our stay. Perfect for what we were looking for! We will be back.

Great getaway

  • 5 of 5

We loved reading on the quiet, peaceful deck in the shade. Thanks for the wine! Your red convertible VW was a blast to drive around town. We relaxed at Ravenswood and Sebastianos after our wine tastings. Beautiful vineyards. Thank you for a very comfortable space to get away

Style, comfort, and tranquility all in one

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriends and I wanted a nice, but affordable, home rather than a hotel for our Sonoma stay that was proximal to downtown. We found this place online and thought it looked great! Well, to say the least, we loved the cottage!

It was spacious with a nice size kitchen (including complimentary beer, wine, water, and snacks!), a good size bedroom and walk in closet with an bathroom that had great "selfie" lighting! Lol...

But the backyard was the best part! Expanse and shaded with the beautiful trees and nature all around. Quiet and tranquil and often accompanied with a deer visit...which we had! A sure winner for any getaway!

The owners were very nice, easy to communicate with, and supplied needed items such as maps, spa info, taxi cab info, and whatever else one may need to enjoy their Sonoma stay!

I will definitely stay here for my next trip.

Good, but certainly not perfect!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at the cottage this weekend, and it worked for what we needed. We had just driven up from Danville, and wanted an affordable place to stay for the night. We did not really use the kitchen facilities, and it was not really warm enough to use the garden. The location of this property is perfect - 5 mins from central Sonoma, and minutes from wineries, Glen Ellyn etc.

We have stayed at a number of VRBO properties, and this one definitely lacked a little. The bathroom is positively tiny, although it is certainly functional. The bed, a queen size, was the feature that let this property down. The bed was not particularly comfortable and, most importantly, the bedding was old, poor quality and in serious need of updating. It was the kind I would expect from an old Motel 6, not a $400 a night rental in Sonoma.

We met one of the owners, Sheila, and I know she has pride of ownership, so I would strongly encourage a few hundred dollars investment in this area.

Some other reviewers have complained that the cottage is too close to the owners house, but we never felt that it was not private.

For us, the highlight was being able to use the 1972 VW Beetle convertible to go out for breakfast. It was fun to drive, and brought lots of attention in town. just remember that cars in 1972 did not have power steering, power brakes, cup holders, etc. Oh, and you need to know how to drive a manual transmission.

I would not recommend this property for a family as the bedroom/bathroom configuration is not convenient.

Very nice, quiet cottage

  • 4 of 5

Pros: Very quite location, you can definitely get a good night's sleep here

Cottage is clean and well stocked with toiletries, kitchen items and a complimentary bottle of wine

Beautiful garden adjacent to the cottage

Owner responded quickly and was very accomodating

Dog friendly

Cons: While the patio is very beautiful, it is not technically private. It is part of the owner's yard, so when you are sitting on your patio you are facing the main house's front door and yard. Also the living room has a large window that also faces this shared area and there are no blinds.

Some of the kitchen appliances are very old and quirky.

Overall very nice place to stay during your visit to Sonoma.
