About Mark or Sarah
Your hosts, Sarah and Mark We have lived in the area since 1980 and run a farm down the road where we raise goats and manage a small herd of horses. Our three daughters are 'out of the nest' but nearby. Mark is currently farming full time, spending any free time clearing trails and maintaining the old ones. Sarah is getting back into her photography, and trying her hand at travel writing whenever they get away on adventures, which happen annually.
Mark or Sarah purchased this Farmhouse in 1998
Why Mark or Sarah chose Colrain
'We live in Paradise' is a recent phrase coined by a local friend of ours. No matter where we travel, we always love coming home to these old hills covered in a blend of hardwood and pine forests, just out of the way of development and the clamour of too many people! We are surrounded by Nature and the wildlife that flourish here.

This place was both homey and professional in its accommodation of guests. Beautiful trails and comfortable beds.
A perfect get away
The property is beautiful, the house is well-cared for, the sheets and towels are nice and the beds are comfortable. We had a great stay at high pocket and look forward to returning in the future.
Perfect Family Getaway
Bucolic spot. Lots of room. Hot tub and washing machines worked great. Stocked kitchen. Hiking right outside your door. Great place to relax after a day of activity. Horse riding is $100 per person for 2 hours (plus excellent instruction).
Perfect in every way
Our stay at High Pocket was the most peaceful and beautiful we’ve had all year. Highly recommended!
Idyllic mountaintop location
Beautifully situated, well appointed, great views, lovely goat herd.
Would definitely return for another alpine visit!
The home was ideal for our group. Three bedrooms up each with its own bathroom and one down that my 88 year old mother stayed in that saved her from the stairs. Big living room with lots of comfy furniture. Nice big table. Even provided coffee. Fresh air, and an adjacent goat herd for amusement. Mark was very helpful and even gave us a great recommendation for a seafood restaurant in greenfield. Small Deposit was refunded cheerfully and promptly.
15 minutes from Shelburne Falls and Greenfield, Ma.
