Puerto Morelos remains a quiet place -- perfect for a relaxed vacation of lying on the white-sand beach and reading, with perhaps the occasional foray into watersports, especially snorkeling, diving, kitesurfing, windsurfing, and kayaking. Offshore lies a prominent reef, which has been declared a national park for its protection. It's shallow and makes for easy snorkeling, and it protects the coast from storm surges. The beaches are great and are maintained by the local government. The water is shallow, calm, and clear, with sea grass growing on the bottom. The town has a good bit of community spirit and a relaxed feel.
It's so depressing to be packing up my belongings and leaving this wonderful spot in paradise tomorrow! What an extraordinary week I've had! The condo has everything you could want...especially a fantastic view!! I can't tell you the countless hours that I spent on the balcony just listening to the ocean and enjoying the peacefulness of the complex. Caesar, the groundskeeper, works diligently to keep the grounds pristine. I want to take him back to the US with me!! I wish my yard was this manicured! Nina, the lady that cleans, is an absolute gem. You never see her without a smile on her face...so precious! Roberto, the property manager, makes sure your every need is attended to quickly. I had a tough time deciding whether to go to the beach or pool each day...both were so inviting! This condo has a king bed (it says queen but I think it may be a king) and a single in the bedroom. There are two futons in the living area, so it would sleep five people. Even though I was here alone for a week of R & R, I could have easily shared the condo with several others. It had plenty of space and included a safe, a water dispenser, coffee pot, blender, small microwave...everything you need! All appliances worked great! There is an a/c in the living area and one in the bedroom. There was always a cool ocean breeze, even in July, and I never even turned on the one in the living area. Open up all the windows and enjoy the gentle breezes of the Caribbean! I'd wake up in the morning, fix my coffee, sit on the balcony and just enjoy the tranquil breaking of dawn. The beach was crowded on Sunday, but other days it was almost like it belonged to me! The town is a short 10 minute walk. The restaurants are all delicious...Tacos.com, Las Palmeras, and Chimichurri were my favorite. Don't hesitate to take a taxi over to the Colonia to Fonda Americana. There are many other great places to eat...as a matter of fact, I haven't found a place I don't like yet!! Go out and support them!
I stayed in another condo at Casita Blanca four years ago and had honestly forgotten how much I loved this place. You just can't go wrong booking this complex for your stay in paradise! You'll love it!! I can't wait to return!!
My husband and I just spent two weeks here and we are still raving about the place. The manager is so accommodating, the grounds are beautiful and unique and the places are kept so clean and fresh. It is a nice walk by beach or road to the village, but far enough out to be almost a private beach. Quiet and restful and safe are the operative words. No wonder the same people come here so often and for so long.
